How Psychedelics Can Cure Our Collective Insanity

Viewer support keeps the show going: http://www.Patreon.com/AcronymTV Subscribe - http://bit.ly/VUl21B note: This is an episode clip. The full episode, The Healing Power of Psychedelics, will publish at Acronym TV on Thursday, May 29. Amber Lyon, 3-time Emmy award winning journalist, describes how her work as a journalist covering social justice issues lead to her suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and how experience with Ayahuasca cured her of the disorder and led to a radical spiritual and career shift. "I've never taken the traditional route in my journalism," says Lyon "I spent a decade on the street covering some of the worst humanity has to offer whether it be war, slavery, drug trafficking, and I realized after a certain amount of time that I was just covering the symptoms of the greater problem which is our collective madness. We need healing at the individual level before anything is going to change when it comes to all of the destruction that we are seeing in this world. (...) I've decided that for the rest of my career I am going to attack the core which is this collective Insanity and collective need for healing; whether that is physical healing or healing when it comes to mental health disorders. Lyon is developing a website, Reset.Me, which "strives to provide accurate journalism on psychedelics and alternative therapies for depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, addiction, and other health conditions. We seek to give those who need to hit the 'reset' button in life information for improving mental and physical well being. Through the aggregation of content and production of independent journalism by experienced reporters, Reset.Me aims to create an open discussion surrounding psychedelics and alternative therapies." According to a video produced by Amber Lyon's new venture, Reset.Me: "Numerous studies show these substances are non-neurotoxic, non-addictive and are having profound effects curing some of the most stubborn mental health disorders by helping people purge bottled up trauma. MDMA is curing debilitating PTSD in veterans. Psilocybin, the psychedelic compound in magic mushrooms, is alleviating anxiety and depression. LSD was used successfully for decades to combat alcohol addictions and anxiety. Ayahuasca is helping people purge traumatic memories while increasing serotonin levels in the brain. Psychedelics are some of the most profound medicines known to man." BIO| Amber Lyon is a three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, filmmaker, photographer, and explorer known for her use of submersion journalism, or becoming part of the story, to find the truth. Lyon is the founder of the news site, www.reset.me and the web show and podcast Reset with Amber Lyon. While a CNN investigative correspondent, Amber was the only reporter to broadcast live while scuba diving in a HAZMAT suit from beneath the BP oil spill to connect viewers with the story. Her reporting contributed to CNN winning a Peabody Award for coverage of the spill. For her CNN documentary, iRevolution: Online Warriors of the Arab Spring, Lyon examined social media's critical role in galvanizing revolutions and exposing human rights abuse in Egypt, Tunisia, and Bahrain. Lyon has reported extensively on domestic child sex trafficking. In 2010, She investigated the sex trafficking of domestic minors on the online classified site, Craigslist. Days after her report aired on CNN, 17 state Attorneys General quoted findings from Lyon's report in a letter to Craigslist demanding the closure of their Adult Services section. Less than a month after the CNN investigation aired, Craigslist shut down their Adult Services section in the U.S. and has since closed the section worldwide. Lyon was honored with a prestigious Gracie Award for women in media and a nominated as a finalist for a Livingston Award for Young Journalists. Lyon also reported for and co-produced a documentary on child sex trafficking entitled "Selling the Girl Next Door". The hour-long documentary gave viewers a raw view into the disturbing world of underage American girls caught up in the violent sex trade. Lyon is also the author of the 2013 Amazon bestseller, Peace, Love and Pepper Spray, a historic photographic documentation of protest across the United States. An Open Letter to the 3.5% - Reform Is Dead (#www)

03:17
support Acronym TV http://www.patreon.com/AcronymTV This is an open letter to you. Yes, you: You! Are! The 3.5%! We are in a historic moment where a new cultural, political, ecological reality must emerge and replace the dominant paradigm. The planet itself, to say nothing of the overwhelming majority of human beings, can no longer live with the killer that is global corporate capitalism in our midst. Research of hundreds of resistance movements shows that no resistance movement in the last 100 years has failed when 3.5 percent of the population participate. How close are we to that tipping point? We may be closer than you think. So, you are cordially invited, challenged even- to become one of the 3.5 percent; to commit to an action or actions starting April 4, 2014 against the corporate controlled State and it's paradigm that preys on the resources and spirits of people. Your actions, and the actions of others, will become a ripple that crisscross with other ripples, each coming from their own centers of daring. These ripples can build a current that can wipe out the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. Okay, so Robert F. Kennedy said that. They killed him. So it goes. You who else they killed? Martin Luther King, Jr. Think they killed him because he had a dream? No. they put him on a stamp because he had a dream. They killed him, neutered him, and packaged him up all nice and delivered a version of him to your children's history books that omits the really dangerous ideas he was proposing like a guaranteed income for all. King was ready to wage a war on poverty, and today we have the reverse: a war on the poor. It is perhaps for that reason that the recent call for a crowd sourced worldwide wave of action put forth by Anonymous suggests a 3 month span beginning on around April 4, 2014: the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther Kings assassination. The naysayers and propagandist will be quick to dismiss the next fissure that erupts through the façade of Empire by saying we are not focused enough. Once again they will ask: what is your demand? As the call from Anonymous states: "Throughout history, when people have fought against tyranny and oppression, they didn't have one perfect utopian model outcome agreed upon beforehand. They just knew that the invading and old systems were detrimental to their wellbeing and had to go. We are now in that position." You are now in that position. Leverage it. Become one of the 3.5 %. Just Say Yes: Amber Lyon on Radical Transformation Through Psychedelics

30:00
Discussed in this episode: Ayahuasca as a Cure for Amber Lyon's PTSD, Psilocybin as a Possible Cure for Dennis Trainor Jr.'s 'Anger Issues', Reset.Me, Corruption at CNN, BP Oil Spill, Saving the World Through Self Improvement, DMT, LSD, Indie Media, The Healing Power of Psychedelics Episode breakdown | Amber Lyon, a 3 time Emmy Award winning journalist joins me to discuss her radical life and career shift; one she found through the life altering experience using and researching Ayahuasca and other Psychedelics. Lyon states too many of us are carrying around bottled up trauma that manifests itself as anxiety, depression, unhappiness, anger, fear, corruption, greed, or violence. Psychedelic medicines are some of the most profound substances on earth for enabling one to process and purge trauma. Lyon says if we can each heal our wounds at the individual level, we will witness dramatic positive transformations as a whole. Amber is poised to launch a new website, Reset.me, which "strives to provide accurate journalism on psychedelics and alternative therapies for depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, addiction, and other health conditions. We seek to give those who need to hit the 'reset' button in life information for improving mental and physical well-being. Through the aggregation of content and production of independent journalism by experienced reporters, Reset.Me aims to create an open discussion surrounding psychedelics and alternative therapies." Of all of the subjects we have covered since Acronym TV shifted format, Psychedelics is -- by far- the subject I know the least about. For people predisposed to cynicism (and I can be one of them) this subjects covered here can be easily dismissed as having little or no relevance to the myriad global problems brought of by the crisis that is capitalism. However, Amber Lyon's thoughtful and researched presentation are enough to give one pause and reconsider anew the quote attributed to Albert Einstein: "The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking." Fuck You Gordon Gekko

02:18
This is an excerpt from "American Autumn: an Occudoc" GET THE MOVIE FOR FREE - email [email protected] with "Occudoc" as the subject line. Subscribe - http://bit.ly/VUl21B text animation & graphics by AJ Russo: http://www.ajedits.com/ original; music by Goldi: http://www.goldishack.com written and narrated by Dennis Trainor, Jr. http://www.youtube.com/AcronymTV1 text You know that scene from the Oliver Stone film Wall Street when Gordon Gekko- played by Michael Douglass in a role that would win him an Oscar, appears at a shareholder's meeting of a company- TelDar paper- to defend his actions and his grotesque world view and delivers the now famous speech where he says: The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed—for lack of a better word—is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. And greed—you mark my words—will not only save Tel Dar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA!" Audiences flipped out. They cheered. Every body in the 80s wanted to be Gordon Gekko. But the thing is this: Oliver Stone wrote it as a piece of Satire. But nobody got it. Just the opposite. While Oliver Stone was trying to send up the excesses of the Reagan Era, Michael Douglass's portrayal helped inspire a whole generation of slick backed hairdos in double breasted suits adopting the "greed is good" ethos, and fast forward to today and pursuing the American Dream as it has come to be defined, now delivers obscene wealth for a very few while raining poverty and misery down on many and serving as a homicidal force for others. Because People do, in fact, die for lack of access to health care in the richest country in the world (that's the US of A). Human consumption is, in fact, accelerating the destruction of our planet. People do, in fact, die in wars waged based on lies that profit a precious few. Over 5 million children globally each year do not reach their 5th birthday because they die of starvation. All of this is not because the system that puts man on the moon or can squeeze an entire library onto a computer chip the size of a thumbnail has failed to find a way to solve these problems, rather our system, without apology, places corporate greed above human need. And greed, to take back the popular phrase, is not good. F*Ck you Gordon Gecko. Obama's Drones Made Simple

02:24
support the show http://www.patreon.com/AcronymTV Obama's drone wars have killed more than 2400 civilians in countries that pose no threat to us and with whom we are not at war, and continue to mock international law and the U.S. constitution. Among those targeted and killed have been United States citizens. Before the 2012 election, Obama told John Stewart of The Daily Show: "one of the things we've got to do is put a legal architecture in place, and we need Congressional help in order to do that, to make sure that not only am I reined in but any president is reined in terms of some of the decisions that we're making." Putting that legal architecture in place could start with House Resolution 819. What version of legal twister could the White House staff come up with to justify the President to be judge, jury, and executioner of people- including American Citizens- all over the world? For those of you (including Obama, apparently) who justify our drone wars as self defense, then let me ask you this: How do you define self-defense? Think about it for a second. Perhaps we should frame the question differently: Under what conditions can we justify the use of violence in our personal lives? I'm certainly no legal expert, but say a person breaks into your house looking to do you harm. Before you know what has happened, they have killed your brother. Sequences of nerve cells fire off shooting adrenaline and cortisol into your bloodstream. Somehow your mind remembers, and your body approximates, some middle school karate kata and you render the intruder defenseless. Scrubbing the blood drippings from your carpet, you call the police, and some form of justice is administered. We would all agree that is self-defense, yes? A justified (in the moral and legal sense term) use of force. Now imagine it is years later that it is you breaking into someone's house. It is not the home of the person who broke into your house, but it is in the same zip code. Well it might be. Actually, it is a few zip codes away from the where the person who broke into your house lives, but you want to make sure no one from this zip code ever breaks into your house again. And actually, you are not personally breaking in, your highly armored remote control plane is. You are sitting at home in your Sponge Bob underwear controlling the weapon with an x-box controller stuffing your face with Cheetos and scratching your groin. You hover quietly for a few days, just staring at the resident, and then without warning you press a few buttons on your joystick and fire at the resident of the home, who -- after all, lives in the same zip code as that person who broke into you're your house all those years ago. You are more accurate with this rocket launcher compared to the shock and awe megaton bombs you used to drop in this neighborhood (or was it another neighborhood?) but this rocket business is still pretty messy and things get pretty broken and lots of people die. Today, your rocket launcher fires, goes through the a window next to the residents head and hits an elementary school outside, killing the lucky and maiming many more. This does not morally trouble you, and you are able to sleep easy at night knowing that no one from that zip code has broken into your home since you began your campaign in that zip code. An international committee awards you a prize for promoting peace in the world, and you have an extra spring in your step having won an election for the second time that will allow you to oversee that kill list for another four years while enjoying restful nights sleep in a large white home at 1600 Pennsylvania avenue. tags Drones, Drone war, CIA, NSA, Obama, Obama drone, Drones Program, Video, Jon Stewart Romancing the Drone, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart Jon Stewart Criticizes Obama Drones, Acronym TV, Resistance Report, Dennis Trainor Jr,

WikiLeaks Leaks Controversial Secret Trans-Pacific Partnership Documents

04:55
Support Acronym TV: http://www.patreon.com/AcronymTV The TPP is a Trojan horse that seeks to usher in a backroom secret sweetheart deal for the global elite, and President Barack Obama want the deal fast-tracked through Congress. That effort was dealt a serious blow on Wednesday, when WikiLeaks released the secret negotiated draft text for the entire Trans-Pacific Partnership Intellectual Property rights chapter. According to the WikiLeaks press release: "The WikiLeaks release of the text comes ahead of the decisive TPP Chief Negotiators summit in Salt Lake City, Utah, on 19-24 November 2013. The chapter published by WikiLeaks is perhaps the most controversial chapter of the TPP due to its wide-ranging effects on medicines, publishers, internet services, civil liberties and biological patents." Remember NATFTA? Remember the concept of Corporate Personhood from the Citizens United case? The TPP combines all of the worst elements of NAFTA and Citizens United, shoots them up with steroids, sprinkles in a speedball and codifies these principles into a trade agreement that is in fact much more than a trade agreement. To sum up what we do know already, based on previous leaks of the working text about how the TPP would eclipse the concept of corporate personhood, I'll quote David Swanson of Roots Action, who writes that the TPP would make popular the phrase Corporate Nationhood: "Many of us have heard of corporate personhood. Corporations have been given the Constitutional rights of persons by U.S. courts over the past 40 years, including the right to spend money on elections. By corporate nationhood I mean the bestowing of the rights of nations on corporations (...) Treaties, according to Article VI of the U.S. Constitution, are -- together with the Constitution itself -- the supreme law of the land. So U.S. laws would have to be made to comply with the TPP's rules." How would U.S. laws be made to comply? Because, As Kevin Zeese and Margret Flowers write: "In addition to requiring that laws conform to provisions within the TPP, corporations would be allowed to sue governments in the trade tribunal if laws interfere with their profits. Governments could not represent their interests before the tribunal or appeal adverse decisions. This would be a tremendous loss of sovereignty." And who is on this tribunal? Three judges, appointed by the corporations. An Open Letter To The Middle Class (spoiler alert: F*ck You)

03:27
SUPPORT http://bit.ly/1gP3wDO with a one time donation or click here to become a monthly sustainer of Acronym TV http://www.patreon.com/AcronymTV Dear Middle Class: Fuck you. Perhaps I should back up a bit and try that again. One of the most frustrating things for me on those occasions when I get suckered into listening to the mainstream media is the lamentation and hand wringing over the shrinking middle class. While I don't have any money in the bank and the only assets I have are a computer a video camera and a rusty old mountain bike, most people would look at where I live and where my children go to school and label me squarely in the middle class. I usually accept that label. It is easier than telling the whole world that am in my mid forties with no savings, no retirement plan, no 401K- and I live the life of a new media freelancer; check to every increasingly small check. These facts would make my middle class friends uncomfortable. But I digress. The reason I say "fuck you" to the middle class is that holding onto the status of middle class requires a poor class. There would be no middle, without the poor. That 1 in 5 kids in the United States live below the poverty line is both immoral and a requirement of our system. This system holds as its very center, heartbeat and myth of the American Dream the cherished "middle class." George Carlin frames it this way: "The upper class keeps all of the money and pays none of the taxes. The middle class pays all of the taxes (and) does all of the work. The poor are there just to scare the shit out of the middle class... keep 'em showing up at those jobs." So what is to be done? We hoist ourselves on our own petard when we allow the Koch brother fueled narrative that Wal-Mart and Fast Food workers who are struggling to attain a living wage should be grateful to have a job, any job, in this climate. We know our elected officials are not responsive to the people, but to the ruling elite and yet we still argue over Obama or Romney or Pelosi or Boehner as if these politicians are even listening to us. We cling, no worse, we teach our children to invest in the false American Dream that if we only work a little harder, or go into more educational debt that we would be able to grasp the brass ring and wear proudly the label of American Middle class. That label would be made in Bangladesh, mind you, by a child working six days a week 16 hours a day and making 30 bucks a month but you would be proud to wear that middle class label just the same, and in doing so do you- we, I- not only endorse the conditions of poverty that, because of its very existence, defines the middle class, we insure that poverty will continue. We need new language, a new system based on equity and fairness and not on exploitation and oppression and until then I say fuck the middle class. The Nonprofit Industrial Complex: an Accessory to the Crime of Capitalism

Support Acronym TV: http://www.patreon.com/dennistrainorjr Perhaps one of the most advanced mechanisms by which the ruling class maintains the status quo is the manipulative and ever so infamous Nonprofit Industrial Complex. This is an intricate system involving relationships between the Ruling Class, State bureaucracy, Social Service and Social Justice Organizations. The purpose of this complex is to create an accommodation to capitalism, though they're known for tackling the effects of policies under the system that create the problems in the first place, attacking the symptoms of the disease rather than the disease itself. Though not all nonprofits fall victim to this accommodation, many of them exist solely for self-perpetuation, in which the organizations fashion themselves to only mitigate the problem that needs solving, rather than eliminate it in order to justify their existence. If People Understood This One Thing, We Would Have Revolution Overnight

Wealth inequality, neoliberalism, the actions of the Federal Reserve, along with the greed and theft of the global elite have made the call for a guaranteed basic income for all even more urgent in 2014 than in the 1960s. David DeGraw, interviewed here by Dennis Trainor, Jr. of Acronym TV claims the alternative is a violent revolution. In his new book, The Economics of Revolution, DeGraw writes: “Having that much wealth consolidated within a mere 1% of the population, while a record number of people toil in poverty and debt, is a crime against humanity. For example, it would only cost 0.5% of the 1%’s wealth to eliminate poverty nationwide. Also consider that at least 40% of the 1%’s accounted for wealth is sitting idle. That’s an astonishing $13 trillion in wealth hoarded away, unused.” In this clip from the full 30-minute interview, DeGraw points out that the Federal Reserve is already printing money and giving it away to the financial elite. Orange is the New Black (Genocide)

Viewer support keeps the show going: http://www.Patreon.com/AcronymTV Subscribe - http://bit.ly/VUl21B In this clip form Acronym TV's full show on the call for a month of resistance To Mass Incarceration, Carl Dix explains how Mass Incarceration equates to a slow motion genocide. "Genocide is not a final act of putting people in gas chambers (...) Genocide is a process. A process by which groups of people are identified, targeted, demonized, separated, and then as this process goes on, the question of mass killings comes up later. That has been going on in this country. Black people in particular have been historically targeted, demonized, segregated (...) the definition of genocide flowing from the United Nations is when a group of people are put (in whole or in part) in circumstances that make it impossible for them to thrive and survive as a people. That is the situation with Mass Incarceration and all of its consequences in this country." Carl, the co-founder of the Stop Mass Incarceration Network, appeared on Acronym TV with Dennis Trainor, Jr alongside Juantia Young (the mother of Malcolm Ferguson, who was murdered by the NYPD) to discuss plans for a month of nationwide resistance to Mass Incarceration. The organizers call to action for October of 2014 (which is endorsed by Acronym TV) reads: A CALL FOR A MONTH OF RESISTANCE TO MASS INCARCERATION, POLICE TERROR, REPRESSION AND THE CRIMINALIZATION OF A GENERATION! For 2 generations, Black and Latina/Latino youth in the U.S. have been shipped off to prison in numbers never before seen anywhere in the world at any time. More than 2 million people, of all nationalities languish in prison -- ten times the number 50 years ago. The U.S. has 5% of the world's population but 25% of the world's prison population! More than 60% of those in U.S. prisons are Black or Latina/o. 32% of Black men between the ages of 20 and 29 are in prison or on parole or probation on any given day. More than 80,000 people in prison are held in solitary confinement under conditions that fit the international definition of torture. The incarceration of women has increased by 800% over the last 30 years. They, along with those whose sexual orientation is not "mainstream" or who are gender non-conforming -- lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex prisoners -- face extremely harsh and abusive treatment in prison, including widespread rape. Alongside this has risen a massive program of criminally prosecuting undocumented immigrants, essentially hidden from public view. As a result of the devastation of their homelands, these immigrants have been driven to this country to work without papers, and today they are being criminalized. The US chastises other countries for human rights violations, yet it enmeshes the lives of tens of millions of people in its criminal "injustice" system. The courts, cops, prisons and La Migra all play a part in enforcing mass incarceration. There are genocidal aspects and a genocidal logic to this program, and it has been gathering momentum. All this is intolerable, and, if it isn't stopped, it will get much worse! Mass incarceration has grown beside the criminalization of whole peoples; a situation in which every African-American or Latina/o is a permanent suspect -- treated as guilty until proven innocent by police and racist vigilantes, if they can survive to prove their innocence. This is especially concentrated among the youth, starting with cops in schools, arresting children for things that used to mean a visit to the principal's office at worse, putting youth on a trajectory from school to prison. Black and Latina/o youth have a target on their backs in this society. Literally tens of millions of lives have been scarred and worse -- both the direct victims and their families and communities. People who heroically resisted these and other injustices have been imprisoned, some of them for decades. These political prisoners must be freed. The malignancy of mass incarceration did not arise from a sudden epidemic of crime. Nor did it result from people making poor personal choices. Instead it arose from cold political calculations made in response to the massive and heroic struggle for the rights of Black and other minority peoples that took place in the 1960's and 70's, and in response to the enormous economic and social changes brought about by globalized production. This cancer of mass incarceration has been, from the beginning, nothing but a new Jim Crow in place of the old one. Like the old Jim Crow, it drew on, fed off and reinforced the deep-seated roots of the racism that grew up with slavery. Like the old Jim Crow, it has been, from the beginning, unjustifiable, utterly immoral and thoroughly illegitimate. Go here http://georiot.co/2vL6 The question of whether persons convicted of a crime should be imprisoned or not is now increasingly influenced by economic interests. While prisons have long tended to be located in rural communities because of the availability of cheap land, this trend has accelerated in recent decades as a result of lobbying by rural officials. With declining economic prospects in many of these communities, many local leaders have come to view prisons as their best hope of economic opportunity through the jobs that are generated. In practice, this has not proven to be beneficial to these areas, but nonetheless rural legislators continue to seek such opportunities. Perhaps not coincidentally, many of these officials are also strong supporters of harsh sentencing policies. -- Marc Mauer http://www.truth-out.org/progressivepicks/item/16003-the-prison-industrial-complex-the-pac-man-that-destroys-lives The incarceration rate in the United States of America is the highest in the world. As of 2009, the incarceration rate was 743 per 100,000 of national population (0.743%).[2] In comparison, Russia had the second highest, at 577 per 100,000, Canada was 123rd in the world at 117 per 100,000, and China had 120 per 100,000.[2] While Americans represent about 5 percent of the world's population, nearly one-quarter of the entire world's inmates have been incarcerated in the United States in recent years.[3] Imprisonment of America's 2.3 million prisoners, costing $24,000 per inmate per year, and $5.1 billion in new prison construction, consumes $60.3 billion in budget expenditures. - Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_incarceration_rate iTunes link https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/american-autumn-an-occudoc/id617241810 Subscribe - http://bit.ly/VUl21B Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/dennistrainorjr facebook: http://www.facebook.com/acronymwithdtrain Web http://www.acronymtv.com

Has Walmart Finally Crossed The Line?

Support the show: http://www.Patreon.com/AcronymTV Walmart, the largest employer in the United States, can't seem to catch a break. There is a nagging trend towards treating workers humanly, including paying them a living wage, that has the Walmart Public Relations department working overtime to alter the public perception that the company is not a blood sucking tick on the face of humanity. Think of it this way: If corporations truly are people, then Walmart is Ebenezer Scrooge. Ok, so Scrooge is a work of fiction, you got me -- but I want this to be a story filled with hope. Perhaps the Walton heirs will receive visitation from a trio of ghosts and emerge from their paranormal experience with a world-view where they are so repulsed by the fact that their obscene wealth is built and predicated on the suffering and poverty of the people they call Associates. - and the corporate welfare they receive to the tune of $900,000 a year per Wal-Mart super store in the form of government assistance to the Wal-Mart Associates whose wages are so low that qualify for these programs. The straw that could break the camels back, however, is the story emerging from Ohio, which many websites are qualifying with the disclaimer: NOT AN ONION STORY where containers at a Walmart store are marked with signs asking for donations for employees . Jen Steer, writing at Cleveland.com notes: "These bins in an employee-only area of the Atlantic Boulevard store are labeled "Please Donate Food Items Here, so Associates in Need Can Enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner." A worker at the store took photos of the setup and sent them to OUR Walmart, a group that pushes for higher wages and respectful conditions for Walmart employees." Associates soliciting donations for other associates so that those who have a job at the Company that generates more revenue that any other company in the world can have a Thanksgiving meal before they report to their shift on black Friday, which actually begins at 6PM on Thanksgiving day- this has to be the final straw, yes? When you add this latest flack to the already well documented illegal anti-union tactics, violation of child labor laws, forcing workers to work off the clock without pay, forcing suppliers to deliver goods at a price point that incentivizes factory conditions with no emergency exits where brown people living in a far off lands get burnt alive while sewing clothes that we can then wrap so daintily in tissue paper and boxes and festive holiday wrapping papers and ribbons and bows all tucked under the Christmas tree with sugar plums and cheer in a never ending cycle of consumption that has delivered wealth to the six Walton heirs that exceeds the wealth of the bottom 40% of Americans -- all of this can no longer be called living better, can it? Voices from Standing Rock: Tarak Kauff

The Dakota Access Pipeline was denied a permit to construct a key part of its pipeline, granting a victory for the Standing Rock Sioux, and the gathering thousands of Native and non-native allies at Oceti Sakowin Camp. This historic, Indigenous lead movement has captured the imagination of the whole world. On December 4th, the day I filmed this interview, 2,000 Veterans were streaming into camp, determined to serve as human shields for the water protectors—and halt production of DAPL. Unexpectedly, a decision by the Army Corps of engineers came down to halt construction of the 1,172-mile oil pipeline. The number of protestors gathering at Oceti Sakowin Camp and Sacred Stone Camp grew to approximately 10 thousand as the Dec 5 “deadline” to vacate the Camp was met with a response from Veterans to travel to the Cannon Ball River and stand as protectors of the water protectors. tags Dakota Access Pipeline, Standing Rock Sioux, DAPL, NODAPL, Oceti Sakowin Camp, Veterans at Standing Rock STAY CONNECTED: Subscribe to Acronym TV on YouTube - http://bit.ly/VUl21B Facebook http://on.fb.me/1STOwbn Twitter https://twitter.com/dennistrainorjr

Going Postal To Save The United States Post Office

The same thing is happening to the United States Postal Service. The USPS is NOT in trouble. Despite the doom and gloom trumpeted by the corporate media, the post office actually posted $700 million in operation profits in the last four years. The USPS is certainly in a crisis, but it doesn't have anything to do with the post office's facilities, online commerce or employee salaries. It should come as a surprise to nobody that the USPS's dire financial situation is a direct result of the callousness and shortsightedness of Congress. Luckily, there's a way we can all help the post office generate more revenue while simultaneously bleeding the banks dry one envelope at a time. But I'll get to that in a minute. The reason the U.S. Postal Service is running at constant losses and having to shutter offices around the country is a direct result of the Postal Reform and Accountability Act (PRAA) of 2006. The bill was passed by the same lame duck Congress that got their asses handed to them in the 2006 mid-term elections, amidst a wave of populist anti-war anger that mobilized millions of voters to throw the war hawks out of Congress. With the exception of Occupy, a minority movement, passivity reigns." Whether Sutherland is engaging in a very clever marketing ploy or he sincerely wants to see a revolution is a question for another day. The chilling footage of the UC Davis Police pepper-spraying "Occupy UC Davis" student protesters sitting peacefully, UC Berkeley police clubbing Occupy protesters with batons, the NYPD violently assaulting and mass arresting protesters and credentialed journalists, and the Oakland police turning the streets into a war zone are clear evidence that the state does not tolerate dissent. What Comes After Capitalism?

Support the show: http://www.patreaon.com/AcronymTV1 Intro music is "Berkley Mix Drop" (unpublished) by GoldiShack Guerrillas http://www.goldishackguerrillas.com Text | What comes after Capitalism? Identifying the correct answer to that question, one I do not pretend to know, in addition to facing the fact that the question is a life or death one- on a global scale, is a basic requirement for the life, liberty, and happiness of the human race. The financial system is nearing another crash, like the sub-prime mortgage crash of 2007 and 2008, writes Steve Rushton at Occupy.com in his report summarizing a recently published European Green Party paper, The Price of Doing Too Little Too Late. Rushton outlines how investors, pension funds and banks are so heavily invested in companies that earn money by destroying the planet that when the actual wake-up call comes, when the alarm clock goes off and the climate change deniers and their corporate blood sucking psychopaths who pay for the propaganda that enables climate change deniers to pretend that there is still a debate to be had over the Apocalyptic course that human induced climate change has us on-- when those people and those beliefs that together want to extract fossil fuel reserves when we KNOW that if the human race is to survive we must leave at least half of current fossil fuel reserves in the ground if not three quarters- when, all the Sean Hannity's, and Sarah Palin's and Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma -- he who, parenthetically it should be noted, likes to quote quotes Genesis 8:22 (While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease") and added, "God's still up there. The arrogance of people to think that we human beings would be able to change what He is doing in the climate is to me outrageous" -- when Tomorrow or tomorrow or tomorrow all these aiding and abetting murders meet the fate of all our yesterdays that have lighted fools the way to dusty death and we wake collectively from our slumber brought on by the gears and the levers that operate the odious machine and we become so sick that we can not take part, even passively take part, and we come together like old flattop grooving up slowly to indicate to the people who own this capitalist machine that unless we are free, this machine will be prevented from working at all and we transition on a massive global shift towards more sustainable energy practices occurs, that funds with heavy carbon exposure- and that number is 95% of all global investment according to the study- will face a shock, that in fact, the carbon bubble will burst and bring own the global financial system. Ok, that may have been a run on sentence. To sum up: The economy will crash again, according to Rushton, because we are so addicted to constant growth, and quarterly capitalism that the global financial elite will march us to the edge of the 2 degree climate cliff just to squeeze some more profit from the products and systems that are killing us. So add one more obstacle to slow the glacial pace (and I mean that in the pre-climate change era of the word) of a coordinated global effort to get the human race untied from the train tracks before the locomotive that is a 2 degree rise in global temperature: our inability to ditch the written and unwritten rules of capitalism. Put that in your feedback loop and smoke it. 4 Reasons To Hold George W. Bush Accountable For War Crimes

Support the show: http://www.patreon.com/AcronymTV I am not sure what it says about our culture when six figure speaker fees are awarded to War Criminals, but that is what happened in New York City on Monday, January 13 when George W. Bush took a break from his retirement and rigorous painting schedule and took his Texas swagger on stage as the keynote speaker at the National Retail Federation's Big Show. Outside, about 30 protesters, armed with art from We Will Not Be Silent's word project tried to draw attention to the fact one of the worlds most infamous war criminals was inside, plying his Texas charm instead of spending time in a jail cell where he belongs. The small number of protesters was disappointing and begs the question, she we simply let bygones be bygones? We do, after all, have a new President who has, in many ways, escalated the blow back inducing homicidal bull in a cultural, religious and geopolitical china shop of a foreign policy pursued under Bush. In light of this fact, we would do well to ask ourselves if the limited resources of the greater activist community would be better spent on activities other than trying to hold W to account. I feel strongly that we should continue to hold Bush accountable, and 4 reasons why are outlined in this video. Ayahuasca, DMT, and Mushrooms as a Cure for PTSD, Depression, Trauma, and more

28:22
Amber Lyon talks with host Dennis Trainor, Jr. about her radical life and career shift; one she found through the life altering experience using and researching Ayahuasca and other Psychedelics. Lyon states too many of us are carrying around bottled up trauma that manifests itself as anxiety, depression, unhappiness, anger, fear, corruption, greed, or violence. Lyon says if we can each heal our wounds at the individual level, we will witness dramatic positive transformations as a whole. About Amber Lyon | Amber Lyon is a three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, filmmaker, photographer, and explorer known for her use of submersion journalism, or becoming part of the story, to find the truth. Lyon was honored with a prestigious Gracie Award for women in media and a nominated as a finalist for a Livingston Award for Young Journalists. Syrian-American Woman DESTROYS John McCain At Town Hall Meeting | Acronym TV

07:57
At a recent town Hall Meeting in John McCain's home state of Arizona, the war mongering senator was completely taken apart by a Syrian American woman in attendance. Implied in her argument is the track record of the US government lying to its citizens to gain consent for a war that then increases destruction, increases the amount of dead and displaced. Increases the amount of children orphaned by a bloodthirsty and money thirsty US foreign policy. Increases the amount of children in far off lands who pose no threat to US national security whose lives will be ruined and who will grow up, understandably more inclined to fly a plan into a building o two. This is a view shared by a majority of Americans. But McCain can live with all of that. What really seemed to unnerve McCain was the wise suggestion that we pressure Saudi Arabia and Iran -- each with a vested interest in the Syrian civil war- and get them to back off and create space for a negotiated peace. Corporations Causing Climate Change Should Be Taken Over By The Public | Howie Hawkins Interview

04:16
Howie Hawkins, Green Party Candidate for N.Y. Governor, sits down with Dennis Trainor, Jr. of Acronym TV on the eve of the largest Climate march in history to discuss his campaign. From HowieHawkins.org: The richest 1% own the two major parties. It's time working people had one of our own. That's why I'm running for Governor. My name is Howie Hawkins. I'm a working Teamster and my running mate, Brian Jones, is a teacher and union member. New York has the greatest income inequality in the country -- and it has gotten worse under Governor Cuomo's tax breaks for the rich and spending cuts for the rest of us. Our schools are the most segregated in the nation. Poverty is on the rise in cities across the state. It doesn't have to be this way. We can create an economy that meets human needs and protects our planet. While the Democrats and Republicans argue over who can give better tax breaks to the rich, we support progressive policies like the right to a job and a minimum wage that's a living wage – at least $15/hour; education as a human right with fully funded public schools; and progressive taxes to fund the public services that our communities rely on. By taxing the rich and Wall Street like we used to in the 1970s, we can fully fund our schools and local governments and lower taxes for working people, including a permanent and substantial cut in property taxes. For Palestinians, Justice Delayed is Justice Denied

03:53
(scroll down for contact info) In this clip from the full-length Acronym TV program, Gaza Solidarity Grows as Israel Continues Massacre (http://bit.ly/1ALhy5l) Kash Nikazmrad, an organizer with Students for Justice in Palestine, discusses the current siege on Gaza with host Dennis Trainor, Jr. Nikazmrad echoed the statement issued by Palestinian civil society organizations (http://electronicintifada.net/content/palestinian-orgs-justice-delayed-justice-denied/992) on 3 October 2009, which reads in part: “Justice delayed is justice denied. All victims have a legitimate right to an effective judicial remedy, and the equal protection of the law. These rights are universal: they are not subject to political considerations. In the nine months since Operation Cast Lead, no effective judicial investigations have been conducted into the conflict. Impunity prevails. In such situations, international law demands recourse to international judicial mechanisms. Victims’ rights must be upheld. Those responsible must be held to account. The belief that accountability and the rule of law can be brushed aside in the pursuit of peace is misguided. History has taught us time and time again, that sustainable peace can only be built on human rights, on justice, and the rule of law. For many years in Palestine international law, and the rule of law, has been sacrificed in the name of politics, and cast aside in favor of the peace process. This approach has been tried, and it has failed: the occupation has been solidified, illegal settlements have continued to expand, the right to self-determination has been denied; innocent civilians suffer the horrific consequences. It is now time to pursue justice, and a peace built on a foundation of human rights, dignity, and the rule of law. In Justice Goldstone’s words, there is no peace without justice.” Nikazmrad went on to say: “There is no reason to let go (…) Justice needs to be served.” To contact Kash Nikazmrad https://www.facebook.com/khashayar.Nikazmrad?fref=ts Tags Palestine, Gaza, Siege on Gaza, Death toll in Gaza, operation protective edge, Protective Edge, Israeli Palestinian Conflict, Palestinian Territories, Palestinians, Hamas, Qatar, Israel Hamas, Israel Gaza, Conflict Palestinian, Territories, John Kerry, Benjamin Netanyahu, Barack Obama, ***** Viewer support keeps the show going: http://www.Patreon.com/AcronymTV Subscribe on YouTube - http://bit.ly/VUl21B FOLLOW | Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/AcronymTV Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/dennistrainorjr Web http://www.acronymtv.com ABOUT ACRONYM TV with Dennis Trainor, Jr. Dennis Trainor, Jr. hosts Acronym TV, a weekly series of dialogue, conversation and debate with the goal of helping viewers sort through these transformative times through the insight of leading activists, artists, journalists, philosophers, scholars, and thinkers. 350.org + Avaaz have No Strategy To Win Climate Crisis Struggle – Arun Gupta

This content is viewer supported: http://www.Patreon.com/AcronymTV 350.org + Avaaz have No Strategy to Win Climate Crisis Struggle – Arun Gupta Speaking to Dennis Trainor, Jr. of Acronym TV, independent journalist Arun Gupta praised 350.org for driving so over 300,000 people into the streets for the People’s Climate March on Sunday, saying “there was a lot of positive energy, a lot of people came out. The organizers deserve a lot of credit for turning out so many people. It wasn’t the normal white environmentalists; there was clearly a lot of great outreach, but at the same time we have to ask where this movement is going.” Echoing the critique of Chris Hedges, Gupta was skeptical about the funders behind the march and some of the organizations represented. Gupta pointed out that there have been allegations that 350.org and Avaaz de-radicalized the agenda for the people’s march, in effect squelching early calling for a more Seattle WTO styled event, and pointed to the years of mass marches on a variety of fronts (anti-war, Global Justice, Immigrants Rights, Occupy) and noted that “a lot of this big mass marches have not resulted in anything. We are now in war number 8 and there is no anti-war movement to speak of.” Gupta placed the People’s Climate March in a long line of failed marches, saying, “It is not enough to turn people out into the street. We also have to have a clear strategy of how to win this, and there is no strategy present.” “There is a lot to be distrusted about the way these NGO groups (and) liberal groups operate because they end up shunting all of the energy into a failed political and electoral system, and we need mass militant street action.” You can watch full coverage of Acronym TV’s People’s Climate March here and the Flood Wall Street day of action here. 350.org, Avaaz, People’s Climate March, People’s March, Militant action, protest, arrest, civil disobedience, Arun Gupta, Arun Gupta interview, Acronym TV, Flood Wall Street, Dennis Trainor Jr., Subscribe on YouTube - http://bit.ly/VUl21B Donate your social media https://donateyouraccount.com/AcronymTV FOLLOW | Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/AcronymTV Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/dennistrainorjr Web http://www.acronymtv.com

Climate Catastrophe Coming To a City Near You | Dennis Trainor, Jr. | Acronym TV

02:21
A study by the Global Carbon Project says a continued increase in carbon dioxide emissions means the planet could see up to triple the maximum 2-degree target set by the United Nations in 2010 and heat of the planet up enough to usher in a temperature rise of up to 6 degrees Celsius by the end of the century. So eat local, wear a Jimmy Carter Cardigan while driving your prius and compost all you want, but unless the humans of the world slam on the breaks and do a 180 turn radically altering the way we produce, consume and live, Armageddon like conditions will be coming to a town near you this century! The six-degree projection by the Global Carbon project is even more dire than the report issued by the World Bank that warned in 84 pages of horrific and meticulously presented text, graphs and images of the apocalyptic effects of 4 degree Celsius increase by 2100. That report pointed out "a global mean temperature increase of 4°C approaches the difference between temperatures today and those of the last ice age, and this magnitude of climate change—human induced—is occurring over a century, not millennia." The Campaign To End All War

11:35
Support the show: http://www.patreon.com/AcronymTV In this interview with David Swanson, we discuss a campaign, still in its planning stages, to eliminate "the institution of war as an acceptable enterprise for the human species." Visiting the website WorldBeyongWar.org, one is prompted to sign a simple two sentence pledge that reads: "I understand that wars and militarism make us less safe rather than protect us, that they kill, injure and traumatize adults, children and infants, severely damage the natural environment, erode civil liberties, and drain our economies, siphoning resources from life-affirming activities. I commit to engage in and support nonviolent efforts to end all war and preparations for war and to create a sustainable and just peace." Here is a sample of quotes from notable early signatories to the pledge: "I support this proposal and agree with this great and important initiative to abolish militarism and war. I will continue to speak out for an end to the institution of militarism and war and for institutions built on international law and human rights and nonviolent conflict resolution." — Mairead Maguire, Nobel Peace Laureate "As a 29 year veteran of the US Army/Army Reserves, retiring as a Colonel and having served as a U.S. diplomat for 16 years and resigning in 2003 in opposition to the Iraq war, I firmly believe war does not resolve political issues. We must work diligently to force the governments of our nations to use diplomacy, not weapons." —Ann Wright "Everybody's worried about stopping terrorism. Well, there's a really easy way: stop participating in it." — Noam Chomsky "It is so inspiring to see a new group coming together not to focus on a particular war or weapons system, but on all war--everywhere. And it's great to have such beautifully crafted arguments about why war is not inevitable and how war contributes to so many other global ills. This coalition is worthy of Martin Luther King's call to end violence and instead put our energies and resources into 'life-affirming activities.' Bravo!" —Medea Benjamin "Militarism is the world's biggest problem...morally, socially, economically, and environmentally." —Ward Reilly "Creating a world beyond war may be the noblest endeavor we can work on. Can you imagine what future generations will think if we succeed? We will leave them a world where trillions of dollars are not wasted annually on weapons and war, where tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands are no longer slaughtered in unnecessary wars. Surely we can imagine solving conflicts between nations in a more mature way; we can imagine the human race evolving to a higher consciousness that no longer requires war. We can imagine a world without war, now we have to work toward such a world. It will be a global challenge, uniting the world to accomplish this great new reality." —Kevin Zeese, PopularResistance.org "War is a lie. War is a racket. War is hell. War is waste. War is a crime. War is terrorism. War is not the answer." —Coleen Rowley "War destroys. War obliterates. War is ruination. And war begets more war. After thousands of years of experience proving this, and reams of literature and countless works of art exposing it, when are people going to learn?" —Lisa Simeone "War is a barbaric tool of the war profiteers and Empires who employ them. War pits young people from the working class against other similarly poor, or disadvantaged humans, for nothing but the greed of the few. Only we the people can make war obsolete by not participating in the profound crimes of the profiteers and other war mongers." —Cindy Sheehan *** Our guest show today was David Swanson. The Toxic Chemical Spill Crisis in West Virginia Will Happen Again. Here's Why

05:35
Support http://www.Patreon.com/AcronymTV When a massive chemical spill happens that contaminates the water supply and leaves over 300,00 people in West Virginia without water to drink, bathe or even brush their teeth - when a dangerous event that throws a whole area of the country into an existential crisis happens, one wants to believe that state and local officials in every part of the country are paying close attention to learn from this crisis to see to it that it be averted in their communities. I mean, there is no way that a corporation, Freedom Industries in this case, would be allowed to handle a toxic foaming agent used as part of the coal preparation processing unless their facility was in tiptop shape, unless the plant processing these toxic chemicals could have the adjective "good" ascribed to it. Should it surprise us then, that Kanawha County Commissioner Kent Carper, speaking to VOA News declared, "the condition of the plant was not good. The danger was known to the previous owner, and the danger was known to the current owner." Silly me, I forgot where I live for a second. This is America, where choosing between corporate profits or the needs of the people are a simple choice, one that gets made over and over again: profits trump people. In an area also knows as "Chemical valley" this is third major chemical accident in the region in the last five years, and as the toxic chemicals dilute themselves in the river and as more and more voices of authority tell people that their water is safe, those safety assessments will be made, according to Robert Reich's recent article entitled Fear Is Why Workers in Red States Vote Against Their Economic Self-Interest, "partly because the government's calculation for safe levels is based on a single study by the manufacturer of the toxic chemical, which was never published, and partly because the West Virginia American Water Company, which supplies the drinking water, is a for-profit corporation that may not want to highlight any lingering danger." The title and content of the Reich article implies that the political will of the people may actually align with the will of the toxic spewing corporations in this case because, well, it all boils down to Jobs. Maya Nye, president of People Concerned About Chemical Safety, a citizen's group formed after a 2008 explosion and fire killed workers at West Virginia's Bayer Crop Science plant in the state, as she explained to the New York Times: "We are so desperate for jobs in West Virginia we don't want to do anything that pushes industry out." "This might explain according to Reich, "why Republican officials who have been casting their votes against unions, against expanding Medicaid, against raising the minimum wage, against extended unemployment insurance, and against jobs bills that would put people to work, continue to be elected and re-elected. They obviously have the support of corporate patrons who want to keep unemployment high and workers insecure because a pliant working class helps their bottom lines. But they also, paradoxically, get the votes of many workers who are clinging so desperately to their jobs that they're afraid of change and too cowed to make a ruckus." If rocking the boat and causing a ruckus can be defined by voting for Democrats, let us take a quick look at President Hope and Change as an example. Obama openly pursues an all of the above energy policy that is expediting the process of climate change that will make human life on earth uninhabitable; his administration has pushed for fast track authority to ram the Trojan horse of a trade deal that is so much more of a trade deal known as the Trans Pacific Partnership through congress without public debate that would, not only gut jobs, it would make our nation's laws subservient to the terms and conditions of an agreement hammered out by the global elite, and advisors multi national corporations. If getting on that train is Reich's idea of making a ruckus, than I fear we will require a whole new thesaurus to come up with the language that will get the human species in general and occupants of the Unites States specifically safely off the runaway roller coaster that is propelling us towards greater inequity, increased environmental destruction and increased corporate profit at the expense of the people. The Democrats and the Republicans both have their hands on the same wheel, their feet on the same pedal. A ruckus simply won't cut it. Chris Hedges: Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart Have Destroyed Satire

Become a Patron: http://www.Patreon.com/AcronymTV In this wide ranging interview, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Christopher Hedges talks with Acronym TV's Dennis Trainor Jr about Class War, Non violence, The Great Gatsby, and about the lost art of Satire. "Satire becomes destroyed in essence in the hands of figures like Colbert, John Stewart and others," Hedges asserts. "They will attack the excesses or the foibles of the system, but they are never going to expose the system itself because they are all millionaires, they are commercially supported. You have very few people (George Carlin was one) who will stand up and do it. If you do that, it is tough to make a living. Carlin maybe being the exception. But if you really use Satire the way Swift used Satire, to expose the English barbarity in Ireland because culture, like everything else in the society has been completely corporatized." How The Supreme Court Made the U.S. Government Illegitimate

10:00
(Note: this is an episode clip. The full show will air on Monday, June 9) Earlier this year, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled, in McCutcheon V. FEC, the court struck down a limit on how much cash an individual could give to all federal candidates during an election cycle. In the 5-4 decision, the majority of justices on the Roberts court ruled that individuals could buy elections. Or, in the words of Chief Justice Roberts, "government regulation may not target the general gratitude a candidate may feel toward those who support him or his allies, or the political access such support may afford." In the dissenting opinion, Justice Stephen Bryer, did not hold back in voicing the disgust felt by an overwhelming majority of Americans (if not by a majority of Supreme Court Justices) in writing that the majority's "legal analysis is faulty: It misconstrues the nature of the competing constitutional interests at stake. It understates the importance of protecting the political integrity of our governmental institutions. It creates a loophole that will allow a single individual to contribute millions of dollars to a political party or to a candidate's campaign." Furthermore, the dissenting opinion offered up this gem: "Taken together with Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission today's decision eviscerates our Nation's campaign finance laws leaving a remnant incapable of dealing with the problems of Democratic legitimacy that those laws were intended to resolve." (Emphasis mine) If we don't have laws that empower us to deal with the problems of Democratic legitimacy, is our government legitimate? That question, among others, in one I put to my guests on this week's Acronym TV. Christina Tobin is the founder and chair of Free & Equal. She has a long history of supporting ballot access, having gathered and defended over 1 million signatures for the Green Party, Constitution Party, Republican Party, Democratic Party, Libertarian Party, Socialist Equality Party and independents. Free & Equal Elections Foundation is a non-partisan grassroots organization, whose mission is to shift the power back to the individual voter through education. Their motto, "More Voices, More Choices." Daniel Lee is a lifelong activist. He serves on the national leadership team for the group Move to Amend, which is a coalition of hundreds of organizations and hundreds of thousands of individuals committed to social and economic justice, ending corporate rule, and building a vibrant democracy; Move To Amend is calling for an amendment to the US Constitution to unequivocally state that inalienable rights belong to human beings only, and that money is not a form of protected free speech under the First Amendment and can be regulated in political campaigns. The Obama Deception On Syria: Debunking the Lies, Hubris, and Myopia In The March To War.

The administration also stands at the ready to flout international law in its open disregard for UN authorization for force and the US constitution, for Obama, while prepared to give congress a voice, is also prepared to wage war on his own. Does A Globally Renowned Activist Have Ties To Global Intel Firm STRATFOR?

11:13
An interview with Carl Gibson, the co-founder of US UNCUT and co-author of the recently published story on Occupy.com that claims that a globally renowned activist whose claim to fame includes being one of the architects of the movement that overthrew Slobodan Milosevic has been collaborating with the intelligence firm Stratfor. Horn and Gibson write: "Lesser known, an exclusive Occupy.com investigation reveals that Popovic and the Otpor! offshoot CANVAS (Centre for Applied Nonviolent Action and Strategies) have also maintained close ties with a Goldman Sachs executive and the private intelligence firm Stratfor (Strategic Forecasting, Inc.), as well as the U.S. government. Popovic's wife also worked at Stratfor for a year. These revelations come in the aftermath of thousands of new emails released by Wikileaks' "Global Intelligence Files." The emails reveal Popovic worked closely with Stratfor, an Austin, Texas-based private firm that gathers intelligence on geopolitical events and activists for clients ranging from the American Petroleum Institute and Archer Daniels Midland to Dow Chemical, Duke Energy, Northrop Grumman, Intel and Coca-Cola. Referred to in emails under the moniker "SR501," Popovic was first approached by Stratfor in 2007 to give a lecture in the firm's office about events transpiring in Eastern Europe, according to a Stratfor source who asked to remain confidential for this story. In one of the emails, Popovic forwarded information about activists harmed or killed by the U.S.-armed Bahraini government, obtained from the Bahrain Center for Human Rights during the regime's crackdown on pro-democracy activists in fall 2011. Popovic also penned a blueprint for Stratfor on how to unseat the now-deceased Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez in September 2010." Gibson and co-author Steve Horn's conclusions are not without their critics. Andy Bichlbaum of the Yes Men authored a scathing rebuttal claiming that Gibson and Horn are engaged in Yellow Journalism: "Carl Gibson and Steve Horn's misleading and poorly researched story—about the links between Srdja Popovic, cofounder of Otpor! and CANVAS, and a crappy corporate spy outfit named Stratfor—does no one any good." Russell's Brand New Revolution + Chris Hedges Interview on Class War | Resistance Report #11

30:02
Become of Patron: www.Patreon.com/DennisTrainorJr While watching Russell Brand's BBC interview, it is not hard to imagine two families in Middle America, neighbors, watching separately in the comfort of their own homes as Russell Brand does his bit and each nod in lonely agreement. "Yes!", they are likely to say- "this Russell Brand fellow is right." But family A has to work hard at a job they are made to feel they are lucky to have buying something, selling something, or processing something when, like their inner Lloyd Dobbler, they don't want to buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, they don't want to do that. And Family B is doing the same thing. Both are trying to keep up with the Joneses, as they the expression goes. Family B is competing to send their kids to better schools and than Family A; and Family A is competing just as hard to beat out family B. They are each other's Jones. But there is NO Jones. "Jones" is a construct, a shackle. And don't you know, Jones is like the show put on by the Wizard of OZ to scare you into submission. Time for us all to find our inner Dorothy's, click our heels together and build a new world called home. A new world called home. Stop the machine and build a new world called home. Hugo Chávez, a threat to U.S. Empire, Dead at 58 (Kevin Zeese interview)

08:44
Subscribe - http://bit.ly/VUl21B Hugo Chávez was the President of Venezuela from 1999 until his death in 2013. To discuss the legacy of Chavez, I talk with Kevin Zeese, who states that "The death of Hugo Chávez is a great loss to the people of Venezuela who he lifted out of poverty and brought a deep participatory democracy. He was a leader who in unity with the people was able to free Venezuela from the grips of US Empire, brought dignity to poor and working class, and was central to a Latin American revolt against US domination."
