Please subscribe to my channel and "like" my video! I make new videos here every Wednesday! Share and Feel Good! Thanks Jake How To Use YOUTUBE 2013! YouTube SEARCH, Filters, Options, Tools, Subscriber Feed To Get The BEST! WATCH More YOUTUBE!! How To Use YOUTUBE EFFECTIVELY in 2013!! Well it's 2013 and YouTube has changed and grown a lot. As a YouTube video creator I though I would promote YouTube by showing how to get the best viewing experience for the viewer. It used to be when you went onto YouTube's homepage that the most popular and most viewed videos would display. Now YouTube has changed to making it a subscriber centric website trying to make people follow people as oppose to simply what's hot now. YouTube wants to be the media choice of the future where it's the go to place instead of television and in order to do that the viewer can benefit by learning about and getting involved with the video creators themselves. First I show what the YouTube homepage looks like in 2013 where all the videos from the channels your subscribed to display. Then I show where people can browse for channels. The browse for channels usually shows the best and top artist for that subject matter but there are many more to choose from. I then show how to use YouTube search and how that while most of the material may prefill you can add more specific words and YouTube search will do it's best to show relevant material. I then show how YouTube's filter works and how there are many ways that you can filter what you are looking for specifically. I focus and show how it defaults to most relevant but you can also choose from upload date, view count and rating. I then explain that while YouTube does a great job in showing the best material and ranks it near the top that by going to the second, third and other additional search pages you can also find great artists. I give an example of an artist on the third page of the search and show how by clicking the channel link below the title allows you to see the persons whole channel. If you like the channel you see and want to follow by clicking subscribe you will then see it in the channel feed of your homepage immediately. I also show the watch later feature in which by clicking the little clock on the bottom right hand corner it adds it to your watch later section on your homepage if you are interested in watching something in the future but don't have the time now. I then say that that are so many great artist and that the key is to not making hot flashy videos that attract a click but rather quality content. This is done by not making videos to long or to short but rather the right length for the content in the video. Finally YouTube has expanded the amount of time that people can have for a video from 15 minutes. This means your going to start seeing more and more new shows like on By subscribing to the artists you get to follow what they do as they progress and develop. Because YouTube is so personalized it will be the media choice of the new millennium. You will get to see great videos and shows on YouTube every day. And YouTube keeps getting better. Hopefully this helps you get the most out of your YouTube experience. Excel Video 33 demonstrates some of many methods Excel offers to filter date fields in tables. When you filter a field containing dates, Excel recognizes the dates and customizes your filter options accordingly. The date filtering options you're used to seeing in Pivot Tables are still there, along with a whole lot more. In fact, the list of date filtering options is so long that my examples toward the end of the video don't fit on the page. Follow along with your copy of Excel to see the Year to Date and All Dates in the Period toward the bottom of the menu. One of the things I really like about date options is that when you update or add more data to your table, you can leave the filters on so that they persist in filtering new data. In other words, if you always want your table to show this week's appointments, for example, set the date filter to This Week and then when you download, refresh, or add new data, you'll always be looking at this week, you don't need to reset the filter.

The next time you need a complex filter in your Pivot Table, remember this trick from Excel Video 321. We've discussed manual filters, label filters, and value filters in these Excel Videos. The filters are great, but normally you can only use filter at a time. If you have a value filter and switch to a label filter, Excel will remove the value filter when it implements the label filter. To change that behavior, go to the Pivot Table options menu and the Totals & Filters tab. Check Allow multiple filters per field and you can now use multiple filters at once. I hope you had a great holiday and look forward to seeing you for many more Excel tips in 2013. Thanks for watching.

Excerpted from the CIFL course on building dashboards with Google Sheets and Data Studio: https://learn.codingisforlosers.com/data-studio-the-lazy-way Setting up a date or control filter is simple - just select them from the right side of the main menu, and drag one onto your dashboard. For date filters, you select a default date range (last 2 weeks, for example). And date filters will apply to all reports on a page by default, so no additional setup is required. For control filters, you select a data source and dimension that you'd like to filter by. Then, to apply the filter to a specific chart, you 'group' them together (accessible from the right-click menu). Note: control filters only work if they're *on the same data source* as the chart they're filtering for.

Learn how to create macro buttons to apply filters on Excel worksheets or Tables. Download the Excel file: https://www.excelcampus.com/vba/macro-buttons-filters/ Applying filters to multiple columns with the filter drop-down menus can be a time consuming process. In this video I explain how to use the macro recorder to create macros for filters, and then add buttons the sheet to run the macros. This automates the process of applying filters and will save you and your users a ton of time. Especially if you have a large data set with a lot of columns. Download the Excel file that I use in the video to follow along. I also explain how to edit/modify the VBA code. The macro recorder creates the VBA code for the AutoFilter method. AutoFilter is used to apply the filters to each column. This code can be complex and confusing, so I've put together the Ultimate Guide to Excel Filters with VBA Macros. This is a comprehensive resource on VBA filters. In addition to the built-in AutoFilters in Excel, you can create Advanced Filters that allow you to extract unique records or calculate criteria based on external data. I do not use Advanced Filters as much as I did in the past because Excel 2007 greatly improved the built-in AutoFilters. However, you will pick up at least two good tips from this lesson - including how to extract Unique Records and copy them to a new worksheet. Majestic have added powerful backlinks filtering options. In this video, Ken McGaffin interviews Dixon Jones to discuss this new feature. Dixon: It's great what you had to do before was - you had to export all of the links, download the whole lot and then use Excel to kind of manually get rid of them. The new backlinks tab has... we'd already got sorting - the ability to sort things by different criteria but now there's a filters button and if you switch on filters there's some great stuff. You just have a whole load of different ways of pooling your backlink data to any website. So it allows you to band Trust Flow so you can say, right just give me Trust Flow links that are between 11 and 20 for example. Dixon: Or sort of "high whatever" it may be so I take suppose some sort of banding thing. And that's really useful because a lot of people would like to really concentrate on links above a certain level or below a certain level depending on what you're trying to do. To be able to band them is very useful. Same with Citation Flow. Dixon: The next thing is being able to look at 'link types' so you can just say, "right give me all the redirects". That's great - all the sites are redirecting... or just show me all the ones that are text links, because actually, I'm not interested in the image links... whatever it may be. Frames I think is in there as well. And then the next one - nofollow/dofollow. So you've got the ability to just say... right I've got all these nofollow links - can I go and persuade them to know dofollow them or whatever? Dixon: The next one is 'crawl result'. Once you've got 'link status' so link status has it been. A link is either live or it's out of our system - deleted - and you can on the backlinks tab you can have the option to show or hide deleted links and if you suddenly bring that in you get this all this information about you know what's going murky in your backlink profile or in somebody else's backlink profile because there's a link there and then it started to disappear. And if you do that the fresh index you've got a 90-day crawl cycle so we will keep a link in the fresh index for up to 90 days after it's been deleted. So once it's been deleted it will stay there but we'll never find it again because it's not there so unless it sort of returns then it will carry on in the index for 90 days. After that it's gone it's you know you can find it in the historic index and find out you know. Dixon: But it's because the way the algorithms work a legacy effect is left when a link has gone that you need to have some kind of memory effect in there. So the fact that we keep it in for a while but not forever is very very important. Being able to see those deleted links is great you can see where Google's had problems crawling, where we've had problems crawling web pages or wherever it may be and so you know being able to look at those just for that it's really really good. So I love that this is just on-the-fly and this ability to filter on-the-fly has been something that has been called for, for a long time in the system and I love it! Dixon: The other things that you can do is you can actually check by keywords. You can say right I want links that contain the word keyword here in, not only your anchor text, but also in the URL of the link that's coming in or the title of the link that's coming in. That title is very important I think because if a page is about online banking it's probably gonna have the title online banking. So that title of a webpage is what the creator of that webpage thought that page should be about. Very useful to be able to go and find backlinks that contain individual keywords in the title of those pages right. Ken: Okay and we had been talking about agencies and the need to work at scale. Can you give me any examples of how an agency might use this sort of feature in that situation? Dixon: I think the filtering here allows the agency to target specific campaigns that they can make into manageable activities over the course of a week or a month or even a day. So the agency can say to the customer right this week we're going to concentrate on getting links surrounding this content. So if you've got content coming out on subject X then you're going to be wanting to get links from pages on the internet that perhaps talk about subject X - the top ten subject X's here or whatever it may be. So this will allow you to go into your own sites and your competitors websites and have a look at their backlink profiles that contain content from pages that are about subject X, so you can drill down and start curating a list very very efficiently. And if you use that little cog that's next to the domains then and 'add to bucket' you can start building up a nice picture of which sites you need to go and approach to try and get influence around that particular keyword right. https://majestic.com/plans-pricing https://youtu.be/u3Ovs2R8Lqk

http://openofficevideo.com Transcript: Welcome to OpenOffice video. I am Maarten and today I will show you how to use the sorting and filter functions in Calc which is very useful if you want to find the data you need in large numbers, large datasheet or if you want, of course, to sort your data. Now let's say we have here our Sales document. Let's say we want to sort all this data by Sales. So we want in ascending order, first we want with the month with lowest sales and then up and up and up. This isn't currently the case, because currently it is sorted by month, so January first, then February, etc. So we want to change this. What we do is we go to Data, first we select, and this is incredibly important, first we select all data. Then we go to Data, we go to Sort, now a menu comes up where you can select how you want to sort it. Now you see you can sort it by Column. So let's say we want it to sort by Sales which is column B, and here we are, Sales. Then we can choose what we want -Ascending or Descending, well we want Ascending. If it is the same, then we select by, let's say, column A, which is Month. I should have actually put a heading in there. But since I didn't, now I meant Column A. So we click on OK, and now you see what happens, it has sorted our data. June is first with our quarter under this, and then this, this. And you see all the other data as well. You can see something funny has happened with the formatting. Actually January was on top, oh yeah, and we didn't have December in this calculation, November was down, so that's why the lines of the formatting are a bit funny, but that's of course easily adjusted. Let's do that right now. Let's do a bit of house-keeping and select here all the borders -fixed. OK, so that's how sorting basically works, very useful. Let's just go back a bit, click this formatting. Now let me show you what happens if you say, OK, I just want to, what some people as a mistake make. I want to sort Sales, you go to Data, Sort, and here this is an important box. It says, "the cells next to the current selection also contain data", which is especially relevant, because here are the month names, and here are the other data. So, Calc actually recognizes that you haven't selected everything. If we go to "Extend selection", we see it automatically selects all your data. This of course goes all right in this spreadsheet since there is nothing much else in there, but be wary of what Calc sorts, because if you haven't built up your data sheet in a way Calc expects, it might go wrong. And you end up with wrongly sorted data, which is a bit of a disaster as I will show you. If I just select this one, Sort, and I ignore this warning and I want to keep the selection as it is, and I am going to sort Sales in Ascending, then it nicely sorts this column but the figure that was previously from June is now from January and if you keep on working with this datasheet, your data is going to end up a mess and your result will be meaningless. so we quickly undo this, select everything if you want to sort data, I recommend always doing this yourself and not waiting for the box. Alright? This was sorting and part 2 will show you how to use filters to sort through data. I hope you find this video helpful. In this 3rd video in the series we look at how to apply filters to multiple columns. You will learn about the rules Excel uses to apply filters with AND logic. I also explain how to filter multiple columns with OR logic, where any of the criteria can be true. Click here to download the file used in the video: https://www.excelcampus.com/tables/filters-training-part-3/ We typically work with large data sets that contain a lot of columns, and it's great to know how to apply filters to multiple columns. This video covers tips and techniques to make this process faster and easier. I also explain how to determine what the filter criteria is for the column. This can be a time consuming task when you have filters applied to multiple columns. At the end of the video I explain how Filter Mate can help with this. The Filter Mate window contains a list of all the column names and allows you to quickly see the columns that have filters applied to them. You can also see the filter criteria for each column. This saves a lot of time and eliminates the need to scroll horizontally to find filtered columns. I also have a new online course on Excel filters called Filters 101. This course will help you learn filtering and sorting techniques to prepare and analyze your data faster. Filter Mate & the Filters 101 Course are now available.
