The Beverley Uranium Mine is located in Northern South Australia. On the 9th of May 2000 , a group of 30 protesters were batoned , capsicum sprayed and incarcerated in a shipping container and subjected to welding fumes. Roughly ten years later (the 9th of April 2010), the SA supreme court found that the actions of the police were inhuman and humiliating. The cost of many rare earth elements has defied analysts' predictions with steep price increases since the beginning of the month. For instance in the last week, the price of dysprosium has risen from around $700 per kilogram up to $1,470. Bloomberg's Jason Scott also reported on June 16th that the price of europium "has risen to as much as $3,400 a kilogram from between $1,260 and $1,300 [per kilogram]." Numerous changes to Chinese mining and trade policies are being attributed to price rise. The changes revolve around the consolidation of rare earth producers in China. Chinese officials have stated their plans to consolidate the industry in an attempt reduce pollution, as well as illegal smuggling of the metals attributed to small artisanal mining firms.

New mining practices, referred to often as "fracking", have unlocked significant reserves of natural gas. The value of the gas is substantial, but the potential for environmental impact is largely unexplored. For example, unlocking natural gas by fracking also can liberate natural radioactivity. This research aims to understand if areas of intense hydraulic fracturing can increase levels of radioactivity in nearby surface waters and sediments. Please visit the crowd funding campaign here: http://bit.ly/hydraulicfracking Thank you!

The Virginia-class series of nuclear attack submarines represents one of the most important undersea components of the modern United States Navy (USN). Some 48 total boats of the group are planned with sixteen completed as of late-2017. The latest of these is USS South Dakota (SSN-790), laid down on April 4th, 2016 and christened on October 14th, 2017. The boat is part of the Block III batch featuring a modified bow section as well as improved technologies. Electric Boat (General Dynamics) was responsible for her construction after the contract was awarded on December 22nd, 2008. The boat displaces 7,800 tons under load and has a length of 377 feet with a beam measuring 34 feet. Power is from an S9G series nuclear reactor unit generating 40,000 horsepower to a single shaft astern. This provides essentially unlimited range (an estimated thirty-three year lifespan for the reactor is reported) and speeds reach up to 25 knots. On board there is a crew of 134 (14 officer-level candidates) and mission endurance is limited to food supplies and general maintenance schedules. The armament suite of the attack submarine consists of 4 x 533mm torpedo tubes cleared to fire the Mk 48 torpedo series. About 37 reloads can be carried. Beyond this the boat also supports the launching of the BGM-109 "Tomahawk" land-attack cruise missile and twelve Vertical Launching Systems (VLSs) are installed. The boat can fire these while completely submerged so as to maintain its position away from enemy eyes. The "Harpoon" anti-ship missile is also another ranged option for the boat and the type can also release naval mines as needed. -like -comment -Subscribe Thanks you :-*

A car’s data recorder caught the moment of the massive pile-up accident, which killed at least two people and involved dozens of vehicles at the Changzhou section of the highway linking east China’s Shanghai Municipality and Nanjing city on Saturday. The video provided by the driver shows he managed to stop his car successfully amid extreme low visibility, avoiding hitting the car ahead. But his car was hit by another vehicle from behind. On December 29, 2015, the three companies that own Big Stone Plant—Otter Tail Power Company (which operates the plant), Montana-Dakota Utilities Co., and NorthWestern Energy—announced that the plant’s new air-quality control system is commercially operational. In other words, the project is complete, and the AQCS is reducing emissions in compliance with new federal and state regulations. The AQCS reduces plant emissions of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and mercury approximately 90 percent. And the project was completed on schedule, under budget, and with a stellar safety record!

Among the waves of immigrants to Wyo. territory in 1870 were groups of Chinese workers employed by the Union Pacific Railroad. Their arrival eventually led to the Rock Springs Massacre of 1885. This tragedy has often been told, but less well known is the tale of these resilient people, and the lives they created for themselves along the rail lines of Southwestern Wyoming. Historical archaeologist Dudley Gardner, Historian Barbara Bogart, and Evanston's Director of Renewal Agency, Jim Davis, tell the story of these industrious individuals

The following news piece represents the first in a 15 part mini-series titled, Nuclear Power in Our World Today, featuring nuclear authority and world expert, nuclear engineer and whistleblower Arnie Gundersen of Fairewinds Energy. The EnviroNews USA special encompasses a wide span of topics, ranging from Manhattan-era madness to the continuously unfolding crisis on the ground at Fukushima Daiichi in eastern Japan. Our journey extends outward from a bombshell interview conducted by EnviroNews Editor-in-Chief Emerson Urry, with the esteemed nuclear expert, whistleblower, and expert witness Arnie Gundersen. Gundersen is a nuclear engineer, as well as a former power plant operator, and trade executive, whose own life, for a good amount of time, was ruined by the nuclear industry after he exposed radioactive safety violations. So to get this series rolling, here’s what Gundersen revealed to Emerson Urry. We were talking about Fukushima and obviously the myriad isotopes that are put off as a byproduct of the nuclear fission that is happening in the reactor. It all starts there with the uranium, and there was quite a rush for that, and now we have all of these situations. To our understanding there are about 15,000 abandoned uranium mines that have been left in complete ruin with very little cleanup or remediation at all, just in the western United States. This has happened, by-and-large, because of an antiquated mining bill – the 1872 Mining Bill. Gundersen: I’ll give you another example of the same thing, and I would say “yes” to everything you said is the quick answer. There is a mill-tailings site in Moab, Utah. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission told the owner of the site that they needed to set aside six million dollars to clean it up. Well, the actual cleanup is a billion dollars. What did the owner do? They declared bankruptcy and walked away. Urry: And it wasn’t bonded? No bond? Gundersen: Right. It wasn’t bonded. You know, if you bonded uranium mining, you wouldn’t have uranium mining. Urry: Because nobody would probably… Gundersen: The way our system is set up is that you take the profit early, and then when everything is done you walk away and the government takes the risk. So, we’ve socialized the risk, and the capitalists make the profit early on and the rest of us pick up the cost afterward. And that’s historically true on the Navajo reservation especially – but you get in the Black Hills and the Lakota Sioux… When Gundersen said the brunt of these mines are on Native American lands, he wasn’t kidding. All of these are abandoned open-pit uranium mines. 397 in Montana, 2103 in Wyoming, 113 in North Dakota, 272 in South Dakota, and 387 in northern Colorado, for a total of 3272. This is an abandoned open-pit uranium mine on the southwestern edge of the Black Hills. The thing about the Darrow Pits Mine is that they are only 40 miles from Mt. Rushmore. Millions of tourists travel to Mt. Rushmore every year not knowing that they are breathing in radioactive dust, and the water that they drink in the motels in Rapid City contains uranium. Recently, March 2013, the U.S. Forest Service finally issued a public safety closure order because of the dangers to human health. Among the particles that are in there are arsenic, molybdenum, thorium, radium and uranium. These are all in the form of dust or runoff, and they are picked up by the wind. Our levels were very very high compared to Chernobyl. The radiation levels in parts I visited with my students were higher than those in the evacuated zones around the Fukushima nuclear disaster.” Higher. Fukushima radiation levels were higher than Chernobyl. The Northern Great Plains’ levels are higher than Fukushima — and these are not from nuclear power plants or from an atomic weapon, or atomic bomb being exploded. These are from 2,885 abandoned open-pit uranium mines and prospects, and we are subject to that radioactive pollution constantly. All of these abandoned open-pit uranium mines in the Northern Great Plains are affecting everyone, but they are genocide for the Great Sioux Nation — for my people. This is genocide. Contact your congressman, your senators. Ask them to pass a bill to clean up all the abandoned uranium mines in all of the United States. The Environmental Protection Agency reversed itself on Friday, by halting the approval process for the proposed Pebble Mine copper and gold mine project, which is located in the southwest Alaska’s Bristol Bay region. President Donald Trump has championed increased domestic mining. The Obama administration blocked the proposed mine in 2014 over environmental concerns. Last year, Scott Pruitt reversed that decision, allowing the Canadian company behind the mine project to apply for a permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. http://feeds.reuters.com/~r/Reuters/domesticNews/~3/sIaepqbGILo/in-reversal-epa-halts-approval-process-for-alaska-mine-project-idUSKBN1FF2ZO http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

A coal mine head turned himself in to police early Tuesday after failing to report a landslide that left at least four people dead and another five missing on Friday, according to authorities in north China's Shanxi Province. Gao Yang, legal representative and general manager of Lyuxin coal mine, surrendered himself to police at 0:52 a.m. and confessed that 10 people had been buried in the accident, which occurred at around 3 p.m. on Aug. 11 at the open-pit coal mine in Heshun County, a spokesperson with the county government said. One person has been rescued and four bodies have been retrieved, according to Gao. A man who had been detained for "fabricating information online" about the accident was released Tuesday. The county government had visited the landslide site twice to investigate the online report, but the company had told them no one had been buried in the landslide. The county's coal administration head Zhang Ruiqing, who led the investigations, has been removed from his post. Rescue work and further investigation are under way.

Coming to South Dakota? Bring your own Drinking Water! - PSA (2013) Please support our efforts - "Say NO to Uranium Mining!" Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary, Hot Springs South Dakota www.wildmustangs.com About the PSA - "Governments and the uranium industry say the mining and milling of uranium provides high-paying and much-needed jobs in some of the most remote areas of the country, with manageable environmental risks. But it's an industry that has long attracted its share of controversy. This is a major concern for the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary in western South Dakota, and other residents including environmental and conservation groups. The Sierra Club of South Dakota warns that water pollution will be a major concern if the mining company Powertech is given a permit to mine for uranium. The Sierra Club's Black Hills Group, says there's a high likelihood that aquifers will become polluted if an injection-well recovery system is used to mine the ore. Powertech Inc USA has submitted its uranium mining application to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and it can be viewed at the NRC website. The NRC has announced a time period for interested individuals to voice their concerns regarding the uranium mine's impacts to the environment. This proposed uranium mine will be the first time folks can be heard under the new GEIS. "It's going to be my last great battle, but I'm going to win this one." says Hyde. The Institute of Range and American Mustang owns 13,000 acres of private land dedicated to range preservation and a balanced ecosystem. I.R.A.M.'s finest gift is the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary; whose purpose is to provide not only freedom for unadoptable and unwanted wild horses, but also a research area dedicated to solving wild horse herd management that will contribute to the well-being of wild horses everywhere. Dayton O. Hyde, Founder and President Institute of Range and the American Mustang is a rancher, conservationist, award winning photographer, essayist and author of 17 books; He runs the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary, an 13,000-acre ranch in Western South Dakota where he protects wild horses." http://www.wildmustangs.com http://www.daytonohyde.com Production credits: Director / Editor: Christopher Crosby Producers: Karla R. This declassified film shows some of the steps used in preparation of the Poseidon Missile Launcher Tube aboard submarines. The Poseidon missile was the second US Navy ballistic missile system, powered by a two-stage solid fuel rocket. It succeeded the Polaris missile beginning in 1972, bringing major advances in warheads and accuracy. It was followed by Trident I in 1979, and Trident II in 1990. A development study for a longer range version of the Polaris missile achieved by enlarging it to the maximum possible size allowed by existing launch tubes started in 1963. Tests had already shown that Polaris missiles could be operated without problems in launch tubes that had their fiberglass liners and locating rings removed. The project was given the title Polaris B3 in November, but the missile was eventually named Poseidon C3 to emphasize the technical advances over its predecessor. The C3 was the only version of the missile produced, and it was also given the designation UGM-73A. Slightly longer and considerably wider and heavier than Polaris A3, Poseidon had the same 4,600 kilometres (2,500 nmi) range, greater payload capacity, improved accuracy, and MIRV capability. Poseidon could deliver up to fourteen W68 thermonuclear warheads contained in Mark 3 reentry vehicles to multiple targets. The high-re-entry-speed design was intended to counter Sprint-type terminal ABM defenses. See Atmospheric re-entry for blunt body theory. The low-yield warheads were apparently selected to make the weapon unsuitable as a first-strike weapon against hardened targets in the Soviet Union, but could be used in a retaliatory strike against soft targets, or in a preemptive strike against unhardened surface targets such as airfields, SAM sites, radar sites and other similar targets, opening a pathway for heavy bombers. In later years this targeting technique has been demonstrated by the use of cruise missiles to neutralize airfields, SAM sites etc. in the opening phases of the Gulf War. As with Polaris, starting a rocket motor when the missile was still in the submarine was considered very dangerous. Therefore, the missile was ejected from its launch tube using high pressure steam produced by a solid-fueled boiler. The main rocket motor ignited automatically when the missile had risen approximately 10 metres (33 ft) above the submarine. The first test launch took place on 16 August 1968, the first successful at-sea launch was from a surface ship, the historic USNS Observation Island (from July 1 to December 16, 1969), earning the ship the Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the first test launch from a submarine took place on the USS James Madison on 3 August 1970. The weapon officially entered service on 31 March 1971. It eventually equipped 31 Lafayette-, James Madison-, and Benjamin Franklin-class submarines. Beginning in 1979, 12 Poseidon-equipped SSBNs were refitted with Trident I. By 1992, the Soviet Union had collapsed, 12 Ohio-class submarines had been commissioned, and the START I treaty had gone into effect, so the 31 older Poseidon- and Trident I-armed SSBNs were disarmed, withdrawing Poseidon from service. About 620 UGM-73A missiles were built between 1970 and 1978. The Navy's Virginia-Class Submarines Now Have a New Mission With “Fly-by-Wire” technology, a human operator will order depth and speed, allowing software to direct the movement of the planes and rudder to maintain course and depth, Navy program managers have told Warrior Maven. The ships can be driven primarily through software code and electronics, thus freeing up time and energy for an operator who does not need to manually control each small maneuver. Previous Los Angeles-Class submarines rely upon manual, hydraulic controls. The Navy is expanding its attack submarine strategy to further emphasize enhanced “spy” like intelligence, surveillance reconnaissance missions to quietly patrol shallow waters near enemy coastline - scanning for enemy submarines, surface ships and coastal threats. Improved undersea navigation and detection technology, using new sonar, increased computer automation and artificial intelligence, enable quieter, faster movements in littoral waters where enemy mines, small boats and other threatening assets often operate. Virginia-Class submarines are engineered with a “Fly-by-Wire” capability which allows the ship to quietly linger in shallow waters without having to surface or have each small move controlled by a human operator. With “Fly-by-Wire” technology, a human operator will order depth and speed, allowing software to direct the movement of the planes and rudder to maintain course and depth, Navy program managers have told Warrior Maven. The ships can be driven primarily through software code and electronics, thus freeing up time and energy for an operator who does not need to manually control each small maneuver. Previous Los Angeles-Class submarines rely upon manual, hydraulic controls. This technology, using upgradable software and fast-growing AI applications, widens the mission envelope for the attack submarines by vastly expanding their ISR potential. Using real-time analytics and an instant ability to draw upon an organize vast data-bases of information and sensor input, computer algorithms can now perform a range of procedural functions historically performed by humans. This can increase speed of maneuverability and an attack submarine's ability to quickly shift course, change speed or alter depth positioning when faced with attacks. A closer-in or littoral undersea advantage, Navy strategy documents explain, can increase “ashore attack” mission potential along with ISR-empowered anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare operations. read more: https://goo.gl/H92V5C subscribe: https://goo.gl/1DpcZe

Are we about to hear that ancient ruins have been found in Antarctica? Is there an Alliance working to defeat the greatest threat humanity has ever faced on earth? Could the Antarctic Atlantis be part of a full or partial disclosure? Join David Wilcock on a thrill ride of discovery, beginning with Part One where he presents data on the Secret Space Program and shares the stage with legendary insider Corey Goode. This is the best public summary David and Corey have done of this amazing story that has captivated the UFO community. Part Two begins at the 53-minute mark, with David connecting the dots between intel from multiple insiders to arrive at a stunning conclusion -- that we are on the verge of major new releases of information that will transform everything we thought we knew about life on earth. A civilization of "Pre-Adamite" giants with elongated skulls appears to have crash-landed on a continent we now call Antarctica some 55,000 years ago. Various groups we collectively call the Alliance are working to defeat the Cabal / Illuminati / New World Order, thus making the headlines crazier by the day. If the Alliance succeeds, their plan is now to begin the disclosure process by telling us there was a civilization in Antarctica. We are already seeing multiple, compelling hints of this in corporate media. Find out what the insiders are telling us and help spread the word! This is a two-and-a-half-hour excerpt from David's Friday and Saturday presentations at the Conscious Life Expo 2017. In their original form they run six hours. David also spoke for three hours on Monday, presenting an incredible new model of the Cosmos based on sacred geometry -- and proving that the Sun is going to release a DNA-transforming burst of energy in our near future. The #ClintonFoundation has raised more than $2 billion since its inception in 1997, and Bill and Hillary Clinton have been paid more than $150 million for delivering speeches. Notably, these payments increased dramatically after Hillary Clinton took office as secretary of state in 2009. The tens of millions of dollars that flowed directly to the Clintons or their foundation, from foreign governments or other entities (or “benefactors”) who could benefit from Secretary Clinton’s actions, seem to pose inherent conflicts of interest. The foundation is currently being probed by U.S. Attorney John Huber—who was assigned by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions—for alleged wrongdoing. American supercarriers are the face of U.S Navy and have enabled powered projection far off from the U.S homeland. Nimitz-class carriers which form the backbone of U.S carrier fleet, as well as the new Ford class carriers, are the biggest warships to roam the oceans displacing around 100,000 tons of water. The U.S is the only nation to operate so many supercarriers since they are very costly to build and operate. American supercarriers are not only an important military platform but are home to thousands of sailors, making them a vital asset for the nation. After watching a fellow YTbers video I thought I'd examine my gardens more closely. Found a number of mutations, some I know are from spiders, some look like freeze damage, but others I just don't know. If anyone has any clues as to the cause of some of these examples I'd love to hear them. I don't use pesticides and have always let perennials and trees grow as they will, but I do eventually get to the weeding and cutting back some things.

The United States Navy commissioned its news attack submarine, USS Colorado (SSN-788) into service. The powerful Block III Virginia-class attack submarine joins the fleet as US is slowly replacing the long-serving Los Angeles-class boats as the backbone of the Navy’s undersea force. USS Colorado is the fifth Block III Virginia-class attack submarine and the Navy expects to take delivery of three additional boats of the sub type in the next several years. The Block III version of the Virginia-class incorporates a number of improvements both to reduce the cost of the vessels and to improve performance. The commissioning is significant, as it comes at a time when great power rivalry between the United States, Russia and China continues to heat up. In this video, Defense Updates ANALYZES THE CAPABILITIES OF USS COLORADO. Lets get started. The de-listing of the wolf has made a big impact on how wolf management takes place in the Northern Counties of Utah (Cach, Rich, parts of Weber and Box Elder Counties), but the D listing is not all that simple. Ranchers who were losing livestock are excited to see management turned back over to the state, local governments are glad that they will be able to manage the wolves, and those who want to protect the wolf are worried that this may lead to more dead wolves. Here with the report is Malia Bascom.

An Intelligence Bureau report on foreign-funded NGOs "negatively impacting economic development" in India has called Greenpeace "a threat to national economic security", citing activities ranging from protests against nuclear and coal plants and funding of "sympathetic" research, to allegedly helping out an Aam Aadmi Party candidate in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The allegations are part of the IB's report, dated June 3, submitted to the Prime Minister's Office. As reported first by The Indian Express, the IB claims the negative impact of the NGOs' role on GDP growth to be "2-3 per cent per annum".
