The Heart of Eternity ($16 million) The stone that was made into the heart of Eternity Diamond was found at the world’s largest supplier of blue diamonds, the South African Premier Diamond Mine. Blue diamonds are incredibly rare with, on average, only one being found every year, and this one was an amazing find. The rough stone was 777 carats when it was dug up, and the owners waited until they had the perfect design idea before they started cutting it. The result was The Millenium Blue Diamonds- a series of heart, pear drop and oval shaped diamonds of which the Heart Of Eternity is the largest. In recent years it has been on tour at various exhibitions, including at the Millennium exhibition in London in 2000, followed by the Smithsonian museum. It was reportedly bought in 2012 by Floyd Mayweather to give to his fiancée, but no details of the selling price were ever revealed. The $16 million price tag is an estimate based on its size and color, but the finished piece could be worth far more when you consider what a rare piece it is. 9. The Moussaieff Red Diamond ($20 million) Diamonds come in many colors, but red ones are particularly rare. According to the Cape Town Diamond Museum there have only been up to 30 true red diamonds ever found, with most of them being less than half a carat. A farmer in Brazil found the rough stone that was to become the Moussaieff Red Diamond in the 90’s. At a weight of 13.90 carats it immediately became the center of attention. The William Goldberg Diamond Corporation from New York then bought it, and decided to cut it into a triangular brilliant cut. This process would mean losing 8.79 carats, but the resulting cranberry colored 5.11 carat gem is simply stunning. It was originally named the Red Shield, but was renamed by the Moussaieff Jewelers when they purchased it for about $8 million at the turn of the century. This diamond has regularly been to exhibitions, being shown alongside other ones in the Smithsonian. Were it to be sold, it would be expected to cost at least $20 million. 8. The Perfect Pink ($23 million) When it sold for $23 million in 2010, the Perfect Pink Diamond was the most expensive jewel that had ever been sold in Asia. It weighs 14.23 carats, is graded as fancy intense pink, and is set in a rose and white gold ring with rectangular shaped diamonds on either side. Pure Pink diamonds of more than 10 carats are very unusual, with only 18 examples having gone to auction in the past 244 years; none of which was classified as intense pink at the time of sale. This makes the Perfect Pink a truly unique piece, and explains why it sold for ten million dollars more than had been expected. 7. The Wittelsbach Diamond ($23.4 million) The first records of the Wittelsbach Diamond come from back in the 17th century when it was sold to Louis XIV of France. It has a rare blue color, and weighs 35.56 carats. The stone has a royal history, having been passed down through families since the 1600’s. It went from France, to Spain, and over to Germany, where it accompanied the German King Louis III to his burial place in 1921. At some point in the 30’s it was sold to raise money for the German government, and from here things get mysterious. No one seemed to know who had bought it, and it somehow got replaced with a piece of blue glas in the museum. Rumors of the actual diamond changing hands were rife in the following decades, until 1962 when it reappeared at a jewelery store in Belgium. It was sold in 2008 for $23.4 million and, to the dismay of diamond historians, the new owner decided that it should be recut, since it had originally been done in the early 1600’s. The resulting stone, now 21.06 carats, meant that both the color and quality were improved, and the estimated price sky-rocketed.

12 Amazing Rare And Valuable Gemstone Discoveries

07:36
From the most famous gemstone in the world the Hope Diamond the a discovery of the giant Jadeite, 12 rare and expensive gems! Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 6. Heart of Eternity The Heart of Eternity weighs in at 27.64 carats, and it is another that was found at the Premier Diamond Mine in South Africa. The diamond was unveiled in January of 2000 alongside a lot of other diamonds. The shape and name of the stone were most likely inspired by the fictional Heart of the Ocean that was featured in the mega-blockbuster Titanic. This stone was almost stolen in November of 2000, but the thieves never managed to do it. In 2012, people though Floyd Mayweather might have bought the stone for an engagement ring for his fiance, but the buyer of the diamond was never revealed. 5. Massive Jadeite Jadeite is one of the world’s most expensive and rare gemstones in the world. Myanmar is the leading producer of this rare and beautiful gem, and the stone was found in a mine in Kachin within the country. The translucent, intensely colored gem is not to be confused with the more traditional jade. The two stones may be related, but Jadeite is rarer and substantially more valuable. That is what makes this discovery of this massive jadeite deposit all the more impressive. The huge stone was discovered in Myanmar in 2016 in a jade mine. The stone that was found is worth a staggering 170 million. The gem is 14 feet high and 19 feet long. The country plans to sell the giant gem to the neighboring China so that it can be made into jewelry and other items. Jadeite is worth about $20,000 per karat. 4. Millennium Star This diamond takes the title second largest top grade diamond behind the Centenary Diamond. Weighing in at 203.04 carats, it's a class D colorless, pear-shaped diamond. It's insured for over $120 million. It was found in Zaire, which is a country in Africa, in 1990. This is one of the diamonds that was featured alongside The Heart of Eternity. It was almost stolen in November in 2000 alongside the Heart of Eternity in the exhibition that was done by De Beers. 3. Great Chrysanthemum Diamond Although the name's a mouthful, this diamond maintains a reputation as one of the most famous diamonds in the world. It was discovered in 1963 in South Africa, and it weighs around 198 carats. It's an orange-brown color that is the central focus of a necklace that also features 410 other diamonds. The diamond was on display at the Smithsonian alongside the Hope Diamond briefly, and it's been on display in many other places. Today, the necklace is owned by an anonymous person who bought it for about 30 million. It's one of only 300 diamonds all over the world that measure in at over 100 carats among a lot of other stones on the list. 2. Cullinan Diamond This is another diamond with a pretty storied past. It was found in 1905 in South Africa and after is was refined it was presented to King Edward VII on his 66th birthday. Several diamonds were cut from the rough one found, but the most famous, Cullinan I or the Great Star of Africa, is considered the crown jewel of the British Monarchy. Cullinan I makes up the centerpiece and head of the royal scepter that is wielded by the supreme rulers at formal events like coronations. Cullinan II takes up another prominent place in the official crown of the reigning royalty. Nine different stones were cut from the original, and they each vary in size. Each stone also has history attached to them. It's been a pretty eventful 100 years for these rocks. There isn't a price tag on these jewels but given that they have been owned by the British Monarchy for so long, the price wouldn't be inexpensive. 1.Hope Diamond The Hope Diamond is the single most famous gemstone in the world. It's inspired movies, been worn by famous people, and it even has a curse attached to it. The diamond weighs in at 45.52 carats, and it is believed to have been found in India. The diamond got its start in France, though, when King Louis XIV first owned it. It was passed down by the French nobles until the French Revolution when it was stolen after King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were decapitated. From then on, the diamond has had 17 owners, including British royalty, Thomas Hope who it got its name from, Pierre Cartier, Harry Winston, and where it currently resides at the Smithsonian. Right now it is insured for $250 million dollars, and it isn't for sale.

13 Rarest Gemstones and Minerals Ever Seen

08:08
Here are the 13 most rare and valuable gemstones and minerals ever seen in the world like the blye Benitoite and red diamonds! Subscribe for new videos Monday Wednesday and Friday! 8. Jeremejevite This mineral was discovered way back in 1883 by a French mineralogist named Augustin Alexis Damour, who named it after the Russian scientist Pavel Vladimirovich Eremeev. The crystal was found on Mt. Soktui in Siberia, Russia. Since then, it has been described as being found in the Eifel District of Germany and in the Pamir Mountains in Namibia. This rare aluminum borate mineral is comprised of variable hydroxide and fluoride ions. 7. Poudretteite This mineral was first found during the mid-1960’s in the Poudrette quarry of Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec. However, it wasn’t until 1987 that the poudretteite was fully recognized as a new mineral. Even then, this mineral wasn't described in depth until 2003. As stated by several different sources, it’s believed that only a relative few will ever come into contact with this mineral and let alone ever even hear it mentioned. 6. Grandidierite This is considered to be an extremely rare mineral and gem that was first seen in 1902 on the Island of Madagascar. It was named in honor after the French explorer Alfred Grandidier who once studied the island’s natural history. Grandidierite comes in a bluish-green color and is located almost entirely in Madagascar, although, there was a clean faceted sample that was found in Sri Lanka. Grandidierite is also pleochroic, which means it's able to absorb different wavelengths of light differently and that results in different colors, such is the same ability with the gems tanzanite and alexandrite. 5. Painite This gemstone was first discovered back in the 1950’s in Myanmar by a British mineralogist named Arthur C. D. Pain. For the next several decades only two fragments of the hexagonal mineral were known to exist on earth. By the time the year 2005 rolled around, there were still less than 25 discovered pieces of painite and The Guinness Book of World Records had declared it the world's rarest gemstone mineral. However, that was 11 years ago and since then the origin of the original stones has been found, along with two other major locations that have led to the discovery of thousands of small samples of painite fragments. Even so, they’re still considered one of the world’s rarest minerals. 4. Red Beryl Also known as bixbite, "red emerald", or "scarlet emerald", red beryl was first reported as far back as 1904. Even though its chemical compound is closely similar to that of aquamarines and emeralds, it’s actually considered to be rarer than both of them. What gives the mineral its red color palette is thanks to the presence of ManganeseⅢ+ ions. It can be found in parts of New Mexico and Utah where it’s actually proven to be quite difficult to mine. Because of this, prices for red beryl are known to reach high levels and have even gone on to be around 10,000 per karat for stones. 3. Ammolite This rare gemstone can be found mainly in the eastern region of the Rocky Mountains of North America. Ammolite is an opal-like gemstone that is solely made up of the fossilized shells of extinct animals known as ammonites. This makes ammolite one of the few biogenic gemstones that exist, along with pearls and amber. Ammolites weren’t officially recognized as gemstones until 1981 when they were given official status by the World Jewellery Confederation. That’s also the same year that commercial mining for ammolite began. 2. Tanzanite It’s been said that tanzanite is 1,000 times rarer than a diamond, which might as well be the case considering the fact that it can be found almost entirely near the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is where the perfect conditions lie in order to form the mineral. Like grandidierite, tanzanite is able to produce striking shifts in color based on the crystal’s orientation and the certain lighting conditions. Caltech's geology division states this is because the color variations are caused by the existence of vanadium ions. 1. Red Diamonds Did you know that diamonds come in a variety of colors? In fact, diamonds can range from being yellow, brown, colorless, blue, green, black, pink, orange, and red. That’s also the same order of how rare each diamond is classified as with yellow being the least and red being the most. Not only that but diamonds are also the hardest natural substances that form here on earth. Just like the colorless diamond, the red diamond is made purely out of carbon, however, what gives the diamond its red color is actually a deformation of their atomic structure that’s known as a “plastic deformation”. The Moussaieff Red is the largest red diamond in the world among the little known other red diamonds that have been discovered.

Mining for Emeralds in Brazil by GIA

02:32
http://gia.edu/gem-encyclopedia Mining for Emeralds in Brazil by GIA. Emerald gemstone has many special qualities. From Sao Paolo, Brazil, Sergio Martins discusses the emerald gemstone history, industry and how sourcing this precious stone is performed in Brazilian mines. He explains the different types of Brazilian mining systems that exist at different locations throughout the country. The Belmont mine has a large area and conducts open pit mining on a large scale. They have consistently produced this precious gemstone for 30 years. Sergio also discusses the Nova Era mine, different from the other emerald mines because it belongs to over 140 people. Located in the area of Garimpeiro, emerald mining in this region involves miners making shafts and looking for the vein that leads to a large concentration of emerald, a “pocket”. Mining can take up to few years before any emerald stones are discovered, but once found, they can produce up to 10 million dollars worth of emeralds in one pocket. I Found A Raw DIAMOND: Mining For Diamonds In Arkansas

SUBSCRIBE!: http://bit.ly/1G97GmA SHARE THIS VIDEO: https://youtu.be/EsDiQokJqos I found a DIAMOND!!!! I went to Crater Of Diamond State Park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas and picked a .44 karat diamond right out of the dirt!! At first I thought it was snot, and then a piece of glass, so I had to get it checked out to make sure it was legit. The park as a gem specialist on sight, and sure enough it was a white diamond! The park itself is incredibly interesting. Crater of Diamonds state park is a 371/2 acre plowed field positioned on an eroded 95 million year old volcano, which is also the world’s eight largest diamond-bearing volcanic crater. The park is located in Murfreesboro, Arkansas (population 1,631) and is the only public accessible diamond site in the world. Admission is $10, and you can keep what you find regardless of how much its worth! Gem hunting and gold mining has turned into my new favorite hobby and I go out panning/sluicing for gold every week. I love it so much I started a new youtube channel all about finding gold and other Gems. Dig It Gold - Silver - Ruby - Emerald - Diamond & Sapphire Baking Soda & Vinegar Experiment

Gold - Silver - Ruby - Emerald - Diamond & Sapphire Dig It - Baking Soda & Vinegar Experiment - Here it is, the definitive baking soda & vinegar experiment with 2 each of the different types of Dig-It Gemstones. Unfortunately I did not find any special stones like I did with the Ruby Dig It in the last video. I though the baking soda was really cool and it did break them apart. Once I started playing with the sand, I thought it was time to turn it into slime. It worked great and turned into something that was not like other slimes I have tested on other videos. After all, it has been ingrained in all of us that a diamond ring equals love and the bigger the diamond, the more love there must be. Well, believe it or not, diamonds really aren’t all that rare. In fact, the reason diamonds cost so much is more due to savvy (and sometimes unethical) business practices and incredibly successful advertising campaigns than the actual inherent value of the stone based on supply and demand, something anyone who has actually tried to sell a diamond quickly comes to realize. Here now is the story of how and why we all fell in love with diamonds. It's about time that I find a diamond Hope the diamond doesn't mind when I mine it. (when I find the) Diamond, diamond, I'll mine a diamond (when I find the) Diamond, diamond, if I could find one. (when I find the) Diamond, diamond, I'll mine a diamond Hope the diamond doesn't mind when I mine it. What would you do with the diamonds? Put em on a stick. Why would you do that to diamonds? To make a diamond pic. How do you fuse all the diamonds? I put em on a table in a certain pattern depending on the item that I want to make A table. With a click diamond items get made. With a table. A diamond pick axe in this case. A table can't do that. How can a table do that? Cause it's a table of crafting. It's how we all craft things. But how's it bend diamond? Cause that's what it has to do. So I can forge the most ultimate tool. It's about time that I find a diamond. It's about time that I mind the diamond It's about time that I find a diamond Hope the diamond doesn't mind when I mine it. So I break through the rock. Cut through block after block And I finally find what I'm destined to mine I raise up my pickaxing arm one more time As soon as I make sure it's cool with the diamond. Diamond, would you mind if I mined you? Answer me or I'll think you don't mind my pickaxe cutting through you. I hear no objection, time to get to mining, mining, I mine the diamond. Mining, mining, I mine the diamond. Mining, mini.... AAHHHH. My pickaxe broke. So i'll mine the diamond with my hand my hand i'll mine the diamond with my hand my hand Dude, you can't mine diamond with your hand it just dsappears. What's that? It disa... OHH NOOO!!! Diamonds Mining : 2018 | How are Diamonds Mined and formed | Diamond Carat [Hindi]

04:39
Diamond Mining :2018 [About Video] In this video you will know guys, How Diamonds are mined, how it take it to manufacturing plants, how do they come in market . Also u will know what is diamond carat and few thinks about world costliest diamond. Diamond Mining - How are diamonds mined and formed? In mineralogy, diamond is a metastable allotrope of carbon, where the carbon atoms are organized in a variation of the face-centered cubic crystal structure called a diamond lattice. Ruby is less secure than graphite, yet the conversion rate from ruby to graphite is negligible at typical problems. Diamond is renowned as a material with outstanding physical high qualities, the majority of which stem from the strong covalent bonding between its atoms. Specifically, ruby has the highest solidity and thermal conductivity of any type of mass material. Those properties figure out the major industrial application of diamond in cutting and polishing tools and the scientific applications in diamond blades and ruby anvil cells. As a result of its exceptionally stiff lattice, it could be polluted by really few kinds of contaminations, such as boron and nitrogen. Percentages of defects or impurities (concerning one per million of lattice atoms) shade ruby blue (boron), yellow (nitrogen), brownish (lattice problems), environment-friendly (radiation direct exposure), purple, pink, red or orange. Diamond also has reasonably high optical dispersion (ability to disperse light of various colors). ------Social Contacts------ Gmail- [email protected] Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/anupdahekar2 [Privious video/Playlist] Educational playlist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OktcTRpymW0&list=PL8SRbi2G-vT70gH7PV7sZrSFANV09dIf u like then don't forget to like, share , comment and subscribe. http://gia.edu/gem-encyclopedia River Mining in Pailin, Cambodia, by GIA. Have you ever wondered what are ruby gems? This video discusses both ruby and sapphire as varieties of the corundum mineral species. The Cambodian ruby is found in a river next to a previously volcanic area. Miners can recover ruby gemstone, where local mining is very popular. Vincent Pardieu describes the Pailin, Cambodia sapphire and how river mining works to find small ruby gems and small sapphire. New mining sources and types of mining can produce material very similar to ruby, whether they’re classical sources or have a slightly different appearance. South Africa's Illegal Gold Mines

10:37
In the 1970s, South Africa was the world's most prolific exporter of gold. Over the years, industrial decline has seen widespread closures of the mines across the country. However, Johannesburg sits on the biggest gold basin ever discovered. It's perhaps not surprising that many of these abandoned mines have seen a recent boom in illegal mining activity. Everyday, hundreds of illegal gold miners, known as Zama Zamas, descend kilometers deep beneath the surface. The miners often spend weeks underground, toiling away at the country's untapped gold reserves. Observers have suggested that illegal mining is now so widespread, black-market gold arguably supports the communities once subsistent on the very same mines they worked in before they shut down. The lack of policing in the mines has seen the practice go on largely unabated. However, in the absence of law enforcement, the extensive network of abandoned mines beneath the region has become an arena to deadly gang warfare between rival factions. VICE News visited illegal mines near Johannesburg, to meet the Zama Zamas risking life and limb everyday in the violent struggle for South Africa's illegal gold. Lucky Woman Opened a Clam and Found THESE Inside!

03:01
Women who like wearing jewelry usually love diamonds, gold, and silver. Other women prefer pearls. Pearls are beautiful, hard gems that come in white, red, gray, blue, green, and black. They are typically spherical in shape, but there are those that form unevenly, i.e. baroque pearls. Perfectly round pearls are considered the most beautiful and they are ideal to be used as jewelry. Oysters produce these precious, iridescent stones. Amazingly, they are the by-product of a biological process that occurs when an irritant or a foreign substance such as a food particle, enters an oyster’s shell. Contrary to popular belief, the irritant is hardly ever a grain of sand. Clams and mussels can also produce this precious stone, but not as frequent as oysters do. Imagine then this woman’s surprise when she opened a giant clam and found not just one pearl inside, but perhaps more than a dozen! What a very lucky girl indeed. The Crystal Collector: "Giant quartz crystals" Ep. 1 Gwinnett Co. Georgia

09:17
Thanks for watching our crystal mining adventures. Check out the "sprite/fairy" some people say we released while digging this vein. Didn't notice it for a couple years until someone pointed it out in the video. Here it is slowed down... https://www.instagram.com/p/BAOYaocCJ3y/?taken-by=thecrystalcollector Watch as host Bryan Major digs quartz crystals in Georgia! These are dug direct from the vein they originated in. These are said to be some of the largest ever found in Georgia. Discovered by Jason Barrett in 2008, the crystals have become well known due to the size, the odd location near Atlanta, the rare alpine type vein they came from, and the super unique sparkle they had in the sun from the thousands of "sprouting" growth form baby crystals.. The mine in the video only has a limited supply left. The pure white quartz crystals coupled with the unique and odd growth forms, became a big hit up in Asheville, N.C. The metaphysical crowd and crystal healers have all loved the powers the Gwinnett quartz has locked away. Check out these two places to buy rocks and crystals. Fancy Color Diamonds and How Cutting Styles Can Boost Color by GIA

02:47
http://gia.edu/gem-encyclopedia Fancy Color Diamonds and How Cutting Styles Can Boost Color by GIA. How does a diamond's cutting style boost color in a fancy color diamond? In this video, John King discusses how cutting diamonds that are lower on GIA's D-to-Z color-grading scale, or lesser value fancy color diamonds, has a great effect on color appearance. For instance, a yellow diamond cut in a more contrasting pattern creates more of a mosaic appearance. The goal is to obscure or mask some of the inclusions for a better face-up appearance. This has a huge impact on the valuation of different colors of diamonds because diamonds once seen as flawed with many inclusions are becoming sought-after stones. The same is true for fancy color diamonds, like blue diamonds and pink diamonds that are cut to enhance and brighten the color appearance, resulting in fancy color diamonds with more vibrant colors.
