Please watch: "Archangels: Jophiel the Spy of God - Companion to the Angel Metatron" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KfKH9d4HxM --~-- Si-Te-Cah are the red-haired Giants of Lovelock Cave. According to Paiute oral history, the Si-Te-Cah, Saiduka, or, Sai'i are a legendary tribe whose mummified remains were allegedly discovered under four feet of guano, by guano miners in what is now known as, Lovelock Cave in Lovelock, Nevada, United States. Although the cave had been mined since 1911, miners did not notify authorities until 1912. The miners destroyed many of the artifacts, but archaeologists were still able to retrieve 10,000 Paiute artifacts from the cave. Items included tule duck decoys, sandals, and baskets, several dating back over 2000 years. "Si-Te-Cah" literally means “tule-eaters” in the language of the Paiute Indians. Tule is a fibrous water plant. In order to escape harassment from the Paiutes, the Si-Te-Cahs were said to have lived on rafts made of tule on the lake. According to the Paiutes, the Si-Te-Cah were a red-haired band of cannibalistic giants. The Si-Te-Cah and the Paiutes were at war, and after a long struggle a coalition of tribes trapped the remaining Si-Te-Cah in Lovelock Cave. When they refused to come out, the Indians piled brush before the cave mouth and set it aflame. The Si-Te-Cah were annihilated. or, so they thought. Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins, daughter of Paiute Chief Winnemucca, wrote about what she described as "a tribe of barbarians" who ate her people in her book Life Among the Piutes: Their Wrongs and Claims - she wrote that "after my people had killed them all, the people round us called us Say-do-carah. It means conqueror; it also means "enemy" "My people say that the tribe we exterminated had reddish hair" There are similar accounts of Giants found in the myths and legends of many cultures all over the world many of which have been covered by ancient mystery. 19 INTERESTING Things About The History Of Giants

10:42
The first thing that you think of when hearing about “giants” is probably the fee fi fo kind from Jack and the Beanstalk-type stories. But there’s more to giants than most of us realize and it seems there’s a lot of people out there that would love to believe these huge beings were real. Subscribe for weekly wacky videos and learn interesting facts about the world with awesome top 10 lists and other amazing videos. 7. Cyclopes The mythological beasts characterized by one eye also came from a primordial race of giants: the Cyclops. In Ancient Greek mythology, cyclops were described as giants with a single eye situated on their foreheads--with one of the most well-known figures being Polyphemus, the son of Thoosa and Poseidon. These gigantic beings worked as craftsmen, blacksmiths, and builders. Polyphemus and other cyclopes were said to live on an island, one that Odysseus even comes across in Homer’s Odyssey. 6. Giants Found In South America Between the Amazonian rainforests of Ecuador and Peru, British anthropologist Russell Dement discovered 6 skeletons--all belonging to abnormally tall people. Even old Ecuadorian legend mentions tall people who had very pale faces. Had Dement unearthed these legendary figures? At least one of the remains showed to have been from at least 600 year ago. Most of them ranged from sizes between 7 to 8 feet or 213 to 243 centimeters in height. The findings may also align with the so-called “Lost City of Giants” in Ecuador, wherein strangely large and heavy tools were discovered amongst the ancient structures of the city. 5. The Awakening Although clearly not a real giant, it still deems itself worthy enough of a mention on this list. A sculpture known as The Awakening displays a giant who has been nearly embedded into the earth, save for a few of his limbs and his face. The sculpture reaches 72 feet or 22 meters long, located at National Harbour in Maryland. It showcases the popularity of giants in pop culture, like that of Paul Bunyan from American tall tales to films like The Princess Bride and even in the Marvel Comics. It seems humans have always had a fascination with beings almost just like us. 4. Orion Who doesn’t love a view of the stars? If you’re a fan of Greek mythology, then you have the giant Orion to thank for that. Orion, a huge huntsman, He doesn’t come off as that great of a guy--though he did grow close to the goddess of the hunt, Diana. But her twin brother, Apollo, got jealous of their relationship and tricked her into piercing Orion with her arrows. Diana, also the goddess of the moon, grieved at this and placed him in the sky. Now he’s one of the most recognizable and visible constellations we can see from Earth. 3. Lovelock, Nevada More giants in the Americas--this time found in a cave in Nevada. Lovelock Cave, also called Horseshoe or Sunset Guano Cave, was long known to have once housed humans years ago. In 1911, two miners decided to take it upon themselves to look into the cave. For the next couple years into the 1920s, digs were conducted to investigate the cave. Among the artifacts found were sandals that measured 15 inches or 38 centimeters long. And then there were fossils of what appeared to be giants, with the bone structure measuring to up to 10 feet or 3 meters tall. The area once was part of the Paiute settlements and in their legends, they described red haired, white-skinned giants that might have lived in the caves 2. The Giant Skull Of Pitcairn Island The volcanic island of Pitcairn can be found on the southern Pacific Ocean, the only one of the four islands in its group that is inhabited. A lot of mystery surrounds the island, which became part of European knowledge after Philip Carteret came across it with his crew in 1767. In recent years, word of a giant skull unearthed on Pitcairn made the news, something that was easily believable since the island already a history of being mysterious. But it seems that it was just stories, with no confirmation of giants once living on the island ever found. 1...

Archaeological Discoveries Proving GIANTS exist

10:18
There have been other species of human on this earth, some smaller and some bigger, but what about a human 2, 3 or maybe even 4 times larger than the average person? Check out these discoveries of giant footprints and skeletons that may prove giants really do exist! China’s Giant Footprint In August of 2016, an amazing and unexplainable discovery was made in Guizhou, China. During a hike, photographers stumbled upon a series of marks in the ground that looked eerily similar to the prints made by a human walking barefoot. Nearly two feet long and indented nearly three centimeters into the ground, the massive prints likely belong to someone who is over thirteen feet tall, according to researchers’ estimates. Many dismiss the prints as a hoax, which is understandable except for the fact that this is not the first time such prints have been discovered. In 1912, a four foot long print was unearthed in South Africa that was dated to be over two hundred million years old, suggesting an ancient civilization of giants. This is backed up by countless tales from Norse, Indian, Mayan, Aztec, Incan, and Greek lore, as well as the Bible. Most amazingly, the 1912 discovery’s creator had to have been over twenty seven feet tall to leave such a print behind, making the mere thirteen feet of the Chinese discovery seem much more feasible by comparison. Phillips Excavation A news article from 1912 details the excavation of a burial mound completed by the Phillips brothers at Lake Declan in Wisconsin. According to the New York Times, on May 4, eighteen giant skeletons that were carefully buried in charcoal and baked clay were uncovered from a presumed burial mound. The bones were said to be, “monkey-like” in many ways, such as straight sloping eye sockets and a nasal placement higher than that of a human, but were obviously human bones. Many other alleged “giant” bones have been found in Wisconsin, with the New York Times also reporting skeletons found by a Smithsonian researcher in 1881 and one nine foot skeleton found in Maple Creek years later in 1897. Certainly such repeated results are at least some cause for interest and concern. Ecuadorian Giant Remains In 1964, several Ecuadorian locals called upon Father Carlos Vaca, a priest who worked with the local hospitals, after uncovering several strange bones in a mountainous area. After inspecting them, he determined they were likely human despite being incredibly large. The bones were taken to Austrian artifact researcher Klaus Dona, who allowed several experts to view the bones. They all came to the same conclusion: they likely belonged to a human who, based upon estimates, would have been over 25 feet tall. No DNA could be pulled from the bones during examination, leading the researchers to believe them to be over ten thousand years old, at the least. Dona also claims that the area where the bones were found has been called, “the cemetery of the giants” by those local to the area, though this has not been proven to be true. Found At Varna This particular discovery actually took place much more recently in Varna, Bulgaria. You see, Varna used to be the ancient Greek city of Odessos, which is known having a lot of mythology that talks about and has images of giants. So it came as almost no surprise in January of 2015 that an incredibly large human skeleton was discovered. The skeleton appeared to placed very delicately with its hands on its waist and it’s head facing specifically to the East. The only issue with this discovery is that no height has actually been publicly confirmed, giving suspicion to its legitamacy. Some people have speculated that the man may have simply been of above average height and was considered a spectacle when they were alive in Ancient Greece, but others believe this was a real giant that was spoken of as mythology. Lovelock Cave In 1911, two Nevada miners named David Hart and James Pugh took interest in the large deposits of bat feces, also known as guano, which they planned to sell for use in making gunpowder. During their digging, the two men uncovered some incredible archaeological finds and called upon Alfred Kroeber, the founder of the Anthropology Department at the University of California. Several normal sized mummies were uncovered, as well as a few who were, amazingly, over eight to ten feet tall. Some sandals were also found that measured in at around thirty eight centimeters long, along with many giant sized handprints embedded into the cave walls. Interestingly, the local Paiute Native American tribe spoke in lore of red haired, white skinned giants called Si-Te-Cha living in the Lovelock cave system where the mummies were discovered. A Giant Discovery

**Some folks have complained about the volume of the music, and I agree. My apologies. I added that at "the last minute" and didn't spend the time necessary to make sure it didn't drown out my narrative. I'll be more careful in the future!** With this video I complete my examination of Nephilimfree's assertion regarding the existence of giant human beings as reported in the Bible. This is just a fun report on what I learned, almost as an aside, when I decided to track down certain claims that I found on the 'net and that I suspected gave Nephy the confidence to assert that giant human remains had indeed been found but were "covered up" by a larger conspiracy headed by institutions such as the Smithsonian and National Geographic. With this piece, we should be able to stick a fork in Nephy; he's done. Additionally, right before I uploaded this video I got a message from a terrific subscriber, cerebulon, who told me he'd watched my original video examining Nephy's Giant Conspiracy and, ironically, believed he'd found what Nephy had been referring to: the "giant" remains from Lovelock. He had no idea I had just completed working this same angle! He graciously offered to send me the info he'd uncovered. Although I had already finished my video, if his source was able to supply more information I certainly wanted to look at it. While I didn't end up using his source in the video, I want to reproduce what he sent me here. I think you'll find it a wonderful addendum to the film (thanks a million, cerebulon): "In 1911 miners began to work the rich guano deposits in Lovelock Cave, 22 miles southwest of the Nevada town of Lovelock. they had removed several carloads of guano when they came upon some Indian relics. Soon afterward a 'mummy' was also found; reportedly that of a 6.5 foot tall person with 'distinctly red' hair. "According to the legends of the local Paiute Indians, a tribe of red-haired giants the 'Sitecahs' were once the mortal enemies of the Indians in the area, who had joined forces to drive the redheads out. John T. Reid of Lovelock, a mining engineer who was avidly interested in Indian lore, became convinced that the mummy substantiated the Paiute legend, and in the years that followed, devoted himself to proving it. Included in his growing file on redheaded giants where descriptions of hair robes once worn by a few Paiutes, the hair was human and it was of a reddish-brown color "In the meantime, the discoveries at Lovelock had generated interest among archeologists and in 1912 the University of California at Berkeley and the Nevada State Historical Society sent Mr. L.L. Loud to investigate the cave. Loud found the archeological deposits so disturbed by the rough-and-tumble mining operation, that he only salvaged artifacts which he took back with him to the University of California. "Twelve years later, in 1924, the Museum of the American Indian in New York sent out a Mr. M. R. Harrington to excavate the cave. He too collected artifacts but no bones. He apparently requested that one whole skeleton that was discovered, be reburied. This was probably to appease the Indian mining employees, who were upset that such disrespectful treatment was accorded to the remains of the deceased. "But the legend of the red-haired giants persisted. In the next few years, more skeletal remains were found in the Lovelock area. Measuring the length of the unearthed femurs, Reid and others deduced that they belonged to people ranging from 6 to 10 feet in height. "Anthropologists however, stated the tallest skeleton they unearthed in the region was only 5'11", a not inconsiderable size in that time and place, but hardly a giant. Furthermore, they have pointed out, when mummies with black hair are removed from a dark cave into sunlight, the hair often turns red. No one has been able to determine to date if this happened to the Lovelock remains. "Today, a few of the Lovelock remains - a skull, some bones and artifacts - can be seen at the Humboldt Museum in Winnemucca, Nevada. Artifacts from the Lovelock area are also displayed at the Nevada State Historical Society's museum in Reno, but no bones. And no mention is made of a giant people. Anthropologists concede however, that redheaded Indians did exist in the West." Part 3, further into the Lovelock Caves, Lovelock, Nevada on a stormy day

Little did I come to my logic, that the apparent mining chopping pick marks, vertical, most of them, were made by miners looking for guano somewhere, or the picks of the archeological digs, hidden away in some museum, Hello Smithsonian!! Bottom line , nothing that is hidden , will be made known, everything will be revealed *** and Ante-Deluvian giants lived and hid in these caves and attacked local Indian villages ( northern Paiute or Shoshone) to rob them of their children and women. Eventually this activity, was put to a stop only when the Indian nations went to war with them to burn them to death in these caves, then later to use them for ceremony and hiding stocks of non perishable food for hard times..
Journey To Lovelock Cave

02:13
According to the oral history of the Paiute tribe in Nevada, a red-haired tribe of cannibals lived nearby and often harassed them with constant war. According to Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins, the daughter of Paiute Chief Winnemucca, eventually the Paiute tribes had all had enough, and decided to band together to eradicate the Si-Te-Cah (translated as “tule-eaters”) As the legend goes, the battled waged on and eventually the Paiutes chased the last remaining Si-Te-Cah to a cave where they had taken refuge. The Paiutes filled the cave entrance with brush and set it ablaze, suffocated their enemies. An earthquake eventually collapse the cave entrance to the point where only bats could enter, accumulating a tremendous 6-foot pile of bat guano on the floor. It was the guano – a chief ingredient of gunpowder – that eventually drew humans back into the dark depths of Lovelock cave. In 1911 local miners, hearing about the guano, began a mining operation to haul it out. As they pulled out the guano, they reported discovering ancient artifacts – bones, baskets, weapons and more. There are also stories that the miners discovered a 6 foot 8 inch red-haired mummy. Other stories describe the mummy as being much larger. The Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology at the University of California published a paper on Lovelock cave, and wrote: “The site has been extensively pothunted and many materials remain in private collections. Lovelock Cave, despite years of destruction, is one of the most important sites in the history of North American archaeology.” Why is the site so significant? Because the artifacts represented items that showed there was in fact a culture of people living in the area that were quite unlike the nearby Paiutes – a tribe of people currently unknown in the field of human anthropology. The efforts of the first archaeologist to arrive, L.L. Loud from UC, turned up a treasure trove of relics, including some impressive duck decoys used by this unknown culture – but not a mummy, as claimed by many that recount this tale around the Internet. Unassisted, Loud conducted excavations in the cave from April to August, 1912, and collected approximately 10,000 archaeological specimens, most of which came from three locations. Some fascinating radiocarbon dates listed in the report include vegetable material dating back to 2030 B.C., a human femur dated 1450 B.C., human muscle tissue dating 1420 B.C., and basketry dating back to 1218 B.C. Archaeologists concluded from this that human occupation of Lovelock cave, by this human culture, started in 1500 B.C. Tales abound by storytellers both offline and online about the mummy from Lovelock Cave, but the only remains independently confirmed by a few tourists to the area that have blogged about it are skulls that local museums keep in a back room and claim that they are of the Lovelock “giants”. The skulls typically have only a slightly larger profile than normal, implying that the culture may have been slightly above average in size and height, but that the legend of their ferocity in battle appears to have skewed their actual size through history and the re-telling of the tales. However, major museums around the country feature actual artifacts from the cave, which you can see for yourself, such as the duck decoys on display at the Smithsonian, and the basketry and bones on display at the Nevada State Museum and other museums in the area. Setting aside the question of whether or not they were actually large enough to be considered “giants”, what is especially remarkable about this story is that it’s an example of solid archaeological evidence that was turned up and scientifically analyzed to essentially confirm the legend that Paiutes elders told tribal children for years. Confirmation of legends through science like this is rare, but whether or not they were giants, it can be said that an as-yet unrecognized tribe of somewhat large, red-headed humans used to live in Nevada for over a century before they were eradicated from this continent by tribal war. Where they came from – we may never know. - Ryan Dube (Top Secret Writers)

AZAZEL AND THE FALLEN ANGELS IN GENESIS 6 AND THE BOOK OF ENOCH (FAIR USE)

09:08
NOTE: THIS CHANNEL IS NOT MONETIZED Abrahamic religions "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." Genesis 6:4-5 (KJV). The Bible tells of men of extraordinary size in the pre-flood world, calling them Nephilim. The Nephilim are said to be the hybrid offspring of angels materialized into human form that had sexual relations with women on Earth (Genesis 6:1,2,4). The global flood of Genesis was said to have destroyed all life on earth which would include the Nephilim (Genesis 6:17; 7:17-21), however, in Numbers, some of the spies of Israel report that the Anakites, decendents of the Nephilim, were still living in Canaan (Numbers 13:28-33). The Anakites (Numbers 13:28-33), the Emites (Deuteronomy 2:10), and the Rephaites (Joshua 12:4) were giants living in the Promised Land. The Bible also tells of strife between David and the giant Goliath, ending with the defeat of the latter. According to the Bible, Goliath was "six cubits and a span" in height—over nine feet tall, (over 2.75 m) (1 Samuel 17:4 KJV). In Basque mythology, giants appear as jentilak and mairuak (Moors), and were said to have raised the dolmens and menhirs. After Christianization, they were driven away, and the only remaining one is Olentzero, a coalmaker that brings gifts on Christmas Eve. Aside from mythology and folklore (see Tall tales), remains of giants have been claimed to have been found in America. Giants are usually classified as human-like remains that are 7' 5" (2.26 meters) or more in height. The book Forbidden Land by Robert Lyman (1971) recounts the following alleged finds: A decayed human skeleton claimed by eyewitnesses to measure around 3.28 metres (10 feet 9 inches tall), was unearthed by labourers while ploughing a vineyard in November 1856 in East Wheeling, now in West Virginia. A human skeleton measuring 3.6 metres (12 feet) tall was unearthed at Lompock Rancho, California, in 1833 by soldiers digging in a pit for a powder magazine. The specimen had a double row of teeth and was surrounded by numerous stone axes, carved shells and porphyry blocks with abstruse symbols associated with it. Several mummified remains of humans with reddish hair claimed to range from 2-2.5 metres (6.5 feet to over 8 feet) tall were dug up at Lovelock Cave, (70 miles) north-east of Reno, Nevada, by a guano mining operation. These bones supposedly substantiated claims for legends by the local Paiute Indians regarding giants which they called Si-Te-Cah. However, there appear to be no verified Paiute legends about giants or that call the Si-Te-Cah giants [4]. Fortunately one of the giant Lovelock skulls is still preserved today. It measures almost 30cm (1 foot) tall and resides along with other various Lovelock artefacts in the Humboldt Museum in Winnemucca, Nevada.[citation needed]? Some of these artifacts can also be found in the Nevada State Historical Society's museum at Reno. Adrienne Mayor states that these skeletons are normal sized.[5] She also points out that hair pigment does not stay stable after death, and that ancient very dark hair can turn rusty red or orange due to a variety of conditions such as soil condition, temperature, etc. A 9' 11" (3.02 meters) skeleton was unearthed in 1928 by a farmer digging a pit to bury trash in Tensas Parish, Louisiana near Waterproof. In 1931 a 10' 2" (3.1 meters) skeleton was unearthed by a boy burying his dog in 1933 in Nearby Madison Parish. THANKS TO GIGANTESTV FOR PRODUCING THIS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIOLV_gTeZg

Giant Tribes of Lovelock Cave | MANDATE: Weird War

27:25
https://soundcloud.com/drewodohertymusic - Original soundtrack by Mr. Drew O'Doherty We receive advice from Loren Coleman, director of the International Cryptozoology Museum and prolific/seminal Fortean author- on the occult naming of ancient sites- both Masonic and Native American- before traveling out to the cosmically war torn regions of Pyramid Lake and the Humboldt River basin in Northern Nevada. We investigate the legends of the Paiute Indian tribe- as outlined in Jim Brandon's Weird America- stories of a warring tribe of giant cannibals spreading out from Mount Shasta- leaving desolation- and mound culture?- in its wake. The surest evidence of such a legend was found buried in guano in 1912- outside Lovelock, Nevada. Reports of six to eight foot tall giants with red hair- well-preserved, mummified even- until the local Freemasons boiled off the flesh and carted most of the remains off to the Smithsonian. What else is new! The connection with Mount Shasta only underscores the potential for an ongoing Lemurian conflict- especially given the strange 10,000 year old rock art on the shores of dry Lake Winnemucca- just outside Pyramid Lake. We visit the museum at Pyramid Lake- and meet a mysterious entity. Resembles our friend Bigfoot / Sasquatch / Yeti- but you be the judge- as well a brief run in with the legendary jackalope (shout to Mr. Ryan Darmon).

Their independence was recognized by Great Britain with the Treaty of Paris of 1783, following the American Revolutionary War. This effectively doubled the size of the colonies, now able to stretch west past the Proclamation Line to the Mississippi River. This land was organized into territories and then states, though there remained some conflict with the sea-to-sea grants claimed by some of the original colonies. In time, these grants were ceded to the federal government. The first great expansion of the country came with the Louisiana Purchase of 1803, which doubled the country's territory, but brought it into minor conflict with the colonies of Spain which eventually resulted in the acquisition of Spanish Florida. The Oregon Country gave the United States access to the Pacific Ocean, though it was shared for a time with the United Kingdom. The annexation of the Republic of Texas in 1845 led directly to the Mexican–American War, after which the victorious United States obtained the northern half of Mexico's territory, including what was quickly made the state of California. However, as the development of the country moved west, the question of slavery became too much to ignore, as there was a struggle to keep the number of northern abolitionist states equal to the number of southern slave states, with vigorous debate over whether the new territories would allow slavery and events such as the Missouri Compromise and Bleeding Kansas. This came to a head in 1860 and 1861, when the governments of the southern states proclaimed their secession from the country and formed the Confederate States of America. The American Civil War led to the defeat of the Confederacy in 1865 and the eventual readmission of the states to the United States Congress. The country's expansion beyond North America began in 1856 with the passage of the Guano Islands Act, causing many small and uninhabited, but economically important, islands in the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea to be claimed. Most of these claims were eventually abandoned due to competing claims from other countries or the guano having been mined out. The Pacific expansion culminated in the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1893 and its annexation in 1898. Alaska, the last major acquisition in North America, was purchased from Russia in 1867. Desires for expansion into Spanish territories like Cuba led to the Spanish–American War in 1898, in which the United States gained Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines, and occupied Cuba for several years. American Samoa was acquired by the United States in 1900 after the end of the Second Samoan Civil War. The United States purchased the U.S. Virgin Islands from Denmark in 1917. Guam and Puerto Rico remain territories; the Philippines became independent in 1946, after being a major theater of World War II. Following the war, many islands were entrusted to the U.S. by the United Nations, and while the Northern Mariana Islands remain a U.S. territory, the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau emerged from the trust territory as independent nations. The last major international change was the acquisition in 1904, and return to Panama in 1979, of the Panama Canal Zone, a region of American sovereignty to build and run the Panama Canal. The final cession of power over the region was made to Panama in 1999. Regarding internal borders, while territories could shift wildly in size, once established states have generally retained their initial borders. Only four states – Maine, Kentucky, Vermont, and West Virginia – have been created from land claimed by another state; all of the others were created from territories or directly from acquisitions. Four states – Louisiana, Missouri, Nevada, and Pennsylvania ...

What is SPIRIT CAVE MUMMY? What does SPIRIT CAVE MUMMY mean? SPIRIT CAVE MUMMY meaning - SPIRIT CAVE MUMMY definition - SPIRIT CAVE MUMMY explanation. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ The Spirit Cave mummy is the oldest human mummy found in North America. It was discovered in 1940 in Spirit Cave, 13 miles (21 km) east of Fallon, Nevada by the husband-and-wife archaeological team of Sydney and Georgia Wheeler. The Wheelers, working for the Nevada State Parks Commission, were surveying possible archaeological sites to prevent their loss due to guano mining. Upon entering Spirit Cave they discovered the remains of two people wrapped in tule matting. One set of remains, buried deeper than the other, had been partially mummified (the head and right shoulder). The Wheelers, with the assistance of local residents, recovered a total of sixty-seven artifacts from the cave. These artifacts were examined at the Nevada State Museum where they were initially estimated to be between 1,500 and 2,000 years old. They were deposited at the Nevada State Museum’s storage facility in Carson City where they remained for the next fifty-four years. Spirit Cave is at an elevation of 4,154 feet in the foothills of the Stillwater Mountains; the Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge is now established in this area. The location is to the northeast of Fallon, Nevada. In 1996 University of California, Riverside anthropologist R. Ervi Taylor examined seventeen of the Spirit Cave artifacts using mass spectrometry. The results indicated that the mummy was approximately 9,400 years old (uncalibrated Radio-Carbon Years Before-Present (RCYBP); ~11.5 Kya calibrated) — older than any previously known North American mummy. The findings were published in the Nevada Historical Quarterly in 1997 and drew immediate national attention. In March 1997, the Paiute-Shoshone Tribe of the Fallon Reservation and Colony made a Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) claim of cultural affiliation with the artifacts. In 2000, further study was unable to establish a definitive affiliation of the remains. In September, 2006, the United States District Court for the District of Nevada ruled on a lawsuit by the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe and said that the Bureau of Land Management made an error in dismissing evidence without a full explanation. The court order remanded the matter back to the BLM for reconsideration of the evidence. In October 2015, Eske Willerslev collected bone and tooth samples from the remains with the permission of the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe. DNA analysis indicated that the remains were similar to North and South American indigenous groups. On November 22, 2016, the remains were repatriated to the tribe. Wizards Beach Man's remains were also in the collection of the Nevada State Museum, and were radiocarbon dated at the same time. This turned out to be another early Holocene skeleton dating to almost exactly the same era. Wizards Beach Man was found in 1978 at Wizards Beach on Pyramid Lake, about 100 miles (160km) to the northeast from Spirit Cave. Radiocarbon dating has established that he lived more than 9,200 years ago. Lovelock Cave, another important early site, is also nearby.

Hidden Cave and Grimes Point is an archeological site just 7 miles east of Fallon, Nevada. After kids discovered the cave, miners looking for bat guano rediscovered it. After excavation, it has remained untouched as if the archeological dig still existed today. With artifacts and the Mazama layer ash, there is thousands of years of history in Hidden Cave. The trace of Great Basin American Indians can be seen in the art left behind by these ancient people at Grime's Point.

Red haired Giant Cannibals at Lovelock Cave?

WELCOME! 😃 SUBSCRIBE ► http://bit.ly/2fu2wQF | ★ PREVIOUS VIDEOS ► http://bit.ly/2vHZRJk ********************************** Red haired Giant Cannibals at Lovelock Cave? Colorful tales of the American West don’t fade away easily, even when they seem to have been discounted. Take, for example, the story of legendary red-haired cannibal giants whose alleged existence in the Lovelock area centuries ago has been debated for more than 100 years. Scientists have said there’s no proof the “giants,” first described in old Indian tales, were cannibals. Chemical staining by earth after burial was advanced as a likely reason why mummified remains have red hair instead of black like most Indians in the area. A University of Nevada study in the mid-1970s indicated the “giants” were about six feet tall, and not up to 10 feet tall as had been claimed. What was left after that was evidence of a tribe separate from principal tribes whose Paiute descendants live here — perhaps a wandering, more aggressive but outnumbered band finally hunted down and killed or chased off. Anthropologists say the story, while somewhat tamer, is still fascinating. But they concede the old myth has more appeal and, no matter what they say, will probably persist. The mid-1970s study was conducted after a bundle of bones, marked “giant bones,” were found in a long-overlooked cabinet at the Nevada Historical Society building in Reno. The late Sheilagh Brooks, who chaired the anthropology department at UN-Las Vegas, analyzed the bones which apparently came from the Lovelock Cave, a treasure trove for scientists trying to reconstruct Nevada’s early history. Dr. Brooks said her investigation showed that some of the bones were from cows, not giants. The human bones appeared to be remains of Indians “maybe six feet tall — big, but not that big,” she said. The myth was written down in 1883 by Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins, daughter of a Paiute Indian chief. She told of a strange, red-haired tribe of cannibals her ancestors drove into a cave and suffocated by lighting a fire at its entrance. She said the “people eaters” were so fierce they would leap into the air, snatch arrows whizzing over their heads, and shoot them back at their enemies. The Paiutes named the giants Si-Te-Cah, which translates to tule-eaters. The giants wove tules, a fibrous water plant, into rafts to navigate across what remained of Lake Lahontan, so the story goes. The Paiutes, a Native-American tribe indigenous to parts of Nevada, Utah and Arizona, described the Si-Te-Cah as a vicious, unapproachable people that killed and ate their captives, and told early settlers that after years of warfare all the tribes in the area joined together to rid themselves of the giants. The fleeing giants took refuge in Lovelock Cave and refused to leave despite demands that they come out and fight. So their pursuers filled the entrance to the cave with brush that was set on fire in a bid to force the giants to come out. The few that did emerge were promptly killed. The giants that remained inside the cavern were asphyxiated. John T. Reid, a Lovelock mining engineer, said Indians took him to the cave in 1886 and told him the tale of the red-haired cannibal giants. But when he entered the cave he found nothing but tons of bat guano... ********************************** ★ SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL TO BE INFORMED FOR NEW DAILY VIDEOS! 9 CRAZY Discoveries That Might Change History!

12:42
Bizarre discoveries that might change history! These strange discoveries from our planet earth might lead to amazing and unbelievable changes in the history of the world Number 8. "Antarctic Paradise" The continent of Antarctica, a frozen wasteland devoid of life aside from some of nature's most evolutionarily ambitious animals. But was it always this way? New discoveries suggest that at one point, maybe even as recent as when the Ancient Egyptians roamed the Earth, Antarctica was a hot and humid tropical paradise. Some of the world's most renowned geologists who dare to brave the Antarctic weather, keep uncovering more and more evidence. The most groundbreaking find being that of petrified tree stumps and leaf fossils that belong to a species of deciduous trees. Researchers believe that these fossils mark the remains of three large forests that once flourished on the continent. Subsequent studying of ice cores from the region back this up and even clarify a possible timeline. The cores show samples of trees and other biomatter that could have lived as recently as 6,000 years ago. There have also been several researchers that have reported find fossils of small animals and the teeth of an Ichthyosaur. These discoveries tie-in to some modern theories that believe there was a point in the Earth's history that an ancient episode of extreme global warming during which both the North and South poles were similar in temperature to the Equator. Number 7. "Bosnian Pyramids" Where are the oldest and largest pyramids on Earth? Your first guess would probably be Egypt or Mexico, but one archaeologist claims they are actually in Europe. Just over 10 miles north of Sarajevo the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, archaeologist Sam Osmanagich discovered what he claims are three giant pyramids that he estimates are over 12,000 years old. Though the pyramids at first glance only look like large grassy hills, when you consider how much erosion would have occurred over thousands of years and combine that with the hills' uncanny and unnatural resemblance to the step pyramids of Mexico, it's easy to imagine the area being home to an advanced ancient civilization. Two of these pyramids that he has named the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon would be over 200 feet taller than The Great Pyramid of Giza if his claims are true. Many scientists are hesitant to confirm his theories as during the time period in which Osmanagich says they were it is believed that humans hadn't even developed simple agricultural systems and that most of Europe would have been covered in ice. But for as many detractors as there are there are just as many supporters of the theory, Osmanagich has even secured government funding for more research and has become somewhat of a hero to his countrymen. Number 6. "Rooms In Tut's Tomb" When the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun, better known as King Tut, was discovered in 1922 it was hailed as one of the biggest archaeological discoveries of all time but all of the secrets surrounding Tut's tombs have yet to be revealed. Recently, archaeologists using radar scanning technology tested the walls where the Pharaoh's sarcophagus was found in search of hidden passageways. They didn't expect to find much but what they ended up discovering, could lead to an even more sought after find. Behind the walls of Tut's burial chamber the radar showed what could possibly be two secret rooms. Further tests revealed that the first room likely is filled with organic materials and metal objects while the other room is also home to unknown organic material. It may be a long time before anyone gets permission to take a sledgehammer to the walls and see what's inside, but archaeologist's have theorized that one of the rooms may lead to the long lost tomb of Queen Nefertiti. They believe this because it has long been speculated that Nefertiti might be the mother of King Tut. This theory is backed-up by several factors such as King Tut passing away at a young age could have led his followers to bury him inside another tomb and the fact that the rest of the tomb doesn't seem to cater to a male Pharaoh.

Gigantes En América encontrados en La Cueva Lovelock y la cultura e historia de Los Paiutes

12:47
His theory was that a race of fair-skinned, blue-eyed people with an average height of 7 feet once lived on the island. He based his claims on numerous artifacts from the island. The largest ones discovered belonged to a male standing over 9 feet tall. There’s little in the way of hard evidence supporting Glidden’s claims & most of the support to his theory is circumstantial & comes from people who’d allegedly seen them. Glidden also claimed that he’d sent artifacts & photos to The Smithsonian & the University of California, but both institutions denied this. Some conspiracy theorists believe that they’re still there, locked away in secret, along with Glidden’s field reports. Glidden wasn’t the first to claim that Santa Catalina was once home to giants. 6 Giants of D. Valley In August 1947, Howard E. Hill spoke before the Transportation Club of Los Angeles & told an incredible story. He talked about the work of Dr. F. Bruce Russell, a retired physician, & his colleague Daniel S. Bovee who in 1931 discovered a network of tunnels beneath D. Valley in California’s Mojave Desert. While trying to sink a mining shaft, Russell fell in one of the caves after surface soil gave way beneath him. Inside of it Russell & Bovee found giants who, they estimated, stood around nine feet tall. They were clothed in garments made from an unknown animal & the material resembled grey dyed sheepskin. 5 Giants of the Caucasus Mountains A Discovery Network episode of The Unexplained Files broadcast in 2014 focused on the possible existence of an ancient giant civilization in the Caucasus Mountains in Georgia. A group of Georgian researchers heard rumors about a local herdsman from the mountainous region who’d stumbled upon something extraordinary. In 2008, this herdsman reportedly discovered a crypt built from stone. Inside, were two giants sitting at a large table. The team of researchers followed up on the rumor. Joining them was Bruce Fenton, known for his work searching for the ‘The Lost City of Giants’ in Ecuador. 4 Giant of Castelnau In the winter of 1890, anthropologist Georges Vacher de Lapouge found three giants at Castelnau, a commune near Montpellier. The abnormally large humerus, tibia & femoral mid-shaft which dated to the Neolithic period indicated that they belonged to someone over 11 feet tall. The discovery was dubbed ‘The Giant of Castelnau’ & analyzed at the University of Montpellier, where it was found that they were of ‘morbid growth’. 3 Lovelock Cave In her book ‘Life Among the Paiutes: Their Wrongs & Claims’, Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins, daughter of Paiute Chief Winnemucca, explained how her people emerged victorious against the fearsome Si-Te-Cah. She explained how, in memory of their victory, locks of red hair would be passed down from father to son in the Paiute tradition. Hopkins even spoke about a unique dress, trimmed with reddish hair, which had been in her family for many years. Around two thousand years later, Lovelock Cave, located near Lovelock, Nevada, was the site of an incredible discovery. Unfortunately, they only told the authorities about the discovery in 1912, & many of the finds were destroyed in the process. Nevertheless, subsequent archaeological digs in 1924 & 1929 recovered over 10,000 Paiute artifacts. 2 City of Giants Legends tell of an ancient city of giants located in a region of Ecuador deep within the Amazon rainforest. Foreign researchers teamed with locals looking for the city & discovered several megalithic structures, the largest, being an irregularly shaped, 260 ft tall, 260 ft wide pyramid. Built with huge stones each weighing around 2 tons. The gigantic structures showed signs of human craftsmanship. Their complex patterns, polished edges & a cement like substance that held these massive stones together all pointed to a man-made design. 1 Mexican Giants A photo started to trend on the Internet in March 2015, showing immense humans allegedly unearthed in southern Mexico, near a small village in Sierra de Tapalapa. They suggested these giants stood almost 20 feet tall. While some thought the picture authentic, it was later revealed to have been the work of a graphic artist with the pseudonym ‘YearOfTheDragon’ who entered it in an online competition from 2008.

Giants Giants are mentioned in Native American, Hindu, Greek and Norse myths and legends, even the Bible and of course countless fantasy series. The idea of men and women as tall as buildings has been around for a long time, but could they be real? The Guinness World Record for the tallest man ever is Robert Wadlow, who measured to be 8 feet 11 inches tall (2.72m). 8. Skunk Ape One of the biggest legends in the world today is that of Bigfoot, aka Sasquatch, but in Sarasota Florida, there's another creature that roams in the forest that might be scarier than Bigfoot. And it's guaranteed to be a whole lot stinkier. This is the tale of the Skunk Ape. 7. Shapeshifters When it comes to superpowers, a common one that people would like to have is the ability to "shapeshift". This is the power to transform your body into anything you want. The Wonder Twins, Beast Boy, Animorphs, and some people in True Blood have had this ability over the years, but the basis of it comes from ancient legends of actual Shapeshifters existing, and there might be some in the world today if you believe the old stories. 6. Dover Demon The year was 1977, and in the spring months of that year, a monster appeared. What's more, this monster was seen by three different people. In their statements, all 3 descriptions matched. It was four feet tall, had long thin fingers, and a "watermelon shaped" head. It also had glowing orange eyes. After the three sightings, the creature was labeled the "Dover Demon". But, also after those three sightings, the creature was never seen again. 5. Cyclops In Greek Mythology, the Cyclopes were a race of giants with a singular eye in the center of their forehead. In Homers Odyssey, the most famous Cyclops was the son of Poseidon but we all know that he got his eye plucked out by Odysseus. What might surprise many is that there is proof that Cyclops could exist today. While it might not be in the form of a colossal giant, sometimes there are people and animals born with one eye. 4. Megalania In Australia during the Ice Age, there was creature that roamed the continent as Apex Predator of the land. It was a massive lizard, and it was called the Megalania. This wasn't just any lizard though, it was said to have grown to be 23 feet long and had a mouth full of teeth that were not only sharp, but it’s mouth was extremely venomous. Which obviously made it an even more lethal predator. 3. Hobbits When I say "Hobbits", you’re probably thinking of Frodo and the little people from the Lord of the Rings who we know and love. However, have you ever wondered if they could actually exist? In the modern world, there are reports of actual Hobbits being around in certain places. 2. Dragons While it's true that you might think you want a dragon, there should be no doubt that dragons could be kind of scary if they were around now!! While it's true that many people want to be like Daenerys from Game of Thrones because of how she rides and controls her dragons, it should be noted that for everyone else who is NOT her, facing off against the dragons is frightening on every level. 1. Chupacabra There are fewer monsters that are as frequently seen as the Chupacabra. It's been called many things depending on your translation, but its name literally translates to "goat-sucker". As in, it sucks the blood of goats for food. The legend of the Chupacabra is so pervasive that it's been seen in live action TV shows and movies, as well as cartoons. And sightings of the creature continue to this day. Origins Explained is the place to be to find all the answers to your questions, from mysterious events and unsolved mysteries to everything there is to know about the world and its amazing animals!

Guano Point, Grand Canyon West, Arizona, United States, North America

00:38
The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a transparent horseshoe-shaped cantilever bridge and tourist attraction in Arizona near the Colorado River on the edge of a side canyon in the Grand Canyon West area of the main canyon. USGS topographic maps show the elevation at the Skywalk's location as 4,770 ft (1,450 m) and the elevation of the Colorado River in the base of the canyon as 1,160 ft (350 m), and they show that the height of the precisely vertical drop directly under the skywalk is between 500 ft (150 m) and 800 ft (240 m). Commissioned and owned by the Hualapai Indian tribe, it was unveiled March 20, 2007, and opened to the general public on March 28, 2007. It is accessed via the Grand Canyon West Airport terminal or a 120-mile (190 km) drive from Las Vegas, which includes a 10-mile (16 km) stretch of dirt road which is currently under development. The Skywalk is east of Meadview and north of Peach Springs with Kingman being the closest city of some size. David Jinohipadhus, an entrepreneur who had been involved with tourism and the Hualapai Nation for some time, had the idea of extending a platform out over the edge of the Grand Canyon. With the help of architect Mark Ross Johnson, that idea evolved into a rectangular walkway and eventually the "U"-shaped walkway that has now been constructed. The overall Skywalk width is 65 feet (20 m). The Skywalk length extending out from the post supports closest to the canyon wall is 70 feet (21 m). The outer and inner 32-inch-wide (810 mm) by 72-inch-deep (1,800 mm) bridge box beams are supported by eight 32-by-32-inch (810 mm × 810 mm) box posts having four posts on each side of the visitor’s center, once completed. The eight posts are anchored in pairs into four large concrete footings that are in turn anchored to the bedrock by ninety-six 2 1⁄2-inch-diameter (64 mm) DYWIDAG (acronym pronounced Doo-Wee-Dag) high strength steel threaded rod rock anchors grouted 46 feet (14 m) deep into the rock. The deck of the Skywalk has been made with four layers of Saint-Gobain Diamant low iron glass with DuPont SentryGlas interlayer. Deck width is 10 feet 2 inches (3.10 m). The Skywalk glass railings were made with the same glass as the deck, but fewer layers (two) bent to follow the walkway’s curvature. The glass railings are 5 feet 2 inches (1.57 m) tall and have been designed for high wind pressures. The Skywalk deck was designed for a 100-pound-per-square-foot (490 kg/m²) live load along with code required seismic and wind forces. The foundation can support the equivalent of 71 loaded Boeing 747 aircraft or an 8.0 magnitude earthquake within 50 miles (80 km). Fine-tuning of the project occurred after a wind loading and pedestrian induced vibration analysis. Two tuned mass dampers were installed inside the outer box beam as well as one inside the inner box beam at the furthest extension of the Skywalk to reduce pedestrian footfall vibration. The walkway could carry 822 people that weigh 200 pounds (91 kg) each without overstress, but maximum occupancy at one time is 120 people. The Skywalk was assembled on top of the canyon wall in line with its final placement and moved into final position by a jack and roll rig. The Skywalk infrastructure itself weighs a little over 1,000,000 pounds (450,000 kg) without counterweights but including the tuned mass dampers, railing hardware, glass rails, glass deck and steel box beams. At the time of roll-out, the Skywalk weighed approximately 1.6 million pounds (730,000 kg). The process was completed in two days. The Skywalk glass itself was manufactured and imported from Saint-Gobain Deutsche Glas (Kinon in Aachen) and Glas Döring in Berlin, Germany. Structural design was provided by Lochsa Engineering out of Las Vegas, Nevada. The Contractor was Executive Construction Management also located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Foundation design was aided by John Peck (Geologist), Aaron Hastings, P.E. of Arroyo Engineering Consultants, Inc. (Geotechnical Engineer), DJ Scheffler, Inc., and Crux Subsurface, Inc. of Spokane Valley, Washington. Astronauts Buzz Aldrin and John Herrington attended the opening ceremony on March 20, 2007. A National Geographic documentary film on the construction of the skywalk has been published. Access to the Skywalk can be made from Las Vegas, Nevada in the North or Kingman, Arizona in the South, via Highway 93. Both routes converge (at CR 7/Buck and Doe Rd) near Diamond Bar Road, which was under construction as of December 7, 2009. At the time, Diamond Bar Road consisted of 10 miles (16 km) of an ungraded gravel and dirt road. Total cost to visit the attraction varies depending on how visitors arrive, but can be in excess of one hundred dollars. There are several packages that can be purchased at the airport terminal visitor center. Every package includes parking at the terminal and shuttle bus transportation to the two scenic viewing areas, and the Hualapai Ranch.

Running POV Video Tours - Historic Railroad Trail & Hoover Dam (Near Las Vegas, NV)

37:57
The trail is 3.7 each way from the upper Lake Mead parking lot (Before the pay booth) to the Hoover Dam parking lot (Where the power transformers are). The Arizona state line and Mike O'Callaghan - Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge is another mile or so, but well worth it! Website: https://www.nps.gov/lake/planyourvisit/hikerr.htm The Historic Railroad Trail is easily accessed either near the Alan Bible Visitor Center or via the Hoover Dam parking garage. It is an easy hike and has great panoramic views of Lake Mead, Boulder Basin, and Fortification Hill. The Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail is now Designated as a National Historic Trail On June 4, 2015, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell and National Park Service Director Jonathan B. Jarvis have designated the Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail at Lake Mead National Recreation Area and the Hoover Dam as a national recreation trail. “We are honored that the Historic Railroad Trail received such an esteemed designation,” said Patrick Gubbins, Lake Mead NRA acting superintendent. “The beautiful lake views along this trail combined with Hoover Dam history make it one of Southern Nevada’s most unique trail experiences.” Timeline & Facts 1931: Lewis Construction Company began construction under Bureau of Reclamation. 1961: Last year railroad in use. 1962: Tracks dismantled and sold for scrap. 1984: Nominated to National Register of Historic Places. 2015: Designated as a National Historic Trail Length: 3.7 miles from trailhead to Hoover Dam Parking Garage. Family hiking through the railroad tunnels. - Only remaining section of Hoover Dam Railroad system that is not highly disturbed or under water. - All tunnels are approximately 300 ft. in length, and 25 ft in diameter. The tunnels were oversized to fit penstock sections and large equipment being transported to Hoover Dam. - Nine steam and four gas locomotives and 71 people were used to operate the system. It was a standard-gauge, 90-pound rail construction that used Oregon fir ties. - This section was used in the motion picture "The Gauntlet" starring Clint Eastwood and Sondra Locke for a sequence in which they were on a motorcycle being chased by an assassin in a helicopter. The Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge The Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge is an arch bridge in the United States that spans the Colorado River between the states of Arizona and Nevada. The bridge is located within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area approximately 30 miles (48 km) southeast of Las Vegas, and carries U.S. Route 93 over the Colorado River. Opened in 2010, it was the key component of the Hoover Dam Bypass project, which rerouted US 93 from its previous routing along the top of Hoover Dam and removed several hairpin turns and blind curves from the route. It is jointly named for Mike O'Callaghan, Governor of Nevada from 1971–1979, and Pat Tillman, an American football player who left his career with the Arizona Cardinals to enlist in the United States Army and was later killed in Afghanistan by friendly fire. It is divided into 72 municipalities; the capital city is Hermosillo. Sonora is bordered by the states of Chihuahua to the east, Baja California to the northwest and Sinaloa to the south. To the north, it shares the U.S.–Mexico border with the states of Arizona and New Mexico, and on the west has a significant share of the coastline of the Gulf of California. Sonora's natural geography is divided into three parts: the Sierra Madre Occidental in the east of the state; plains and rolling hills in the center; and the coast on the Gulf of California. It is primarily arid or semiarid deserts and grasslands, with only the highest elevations having sufficient rainfall to support other types of vegetation. Sonora is home to eight indigenous peoples, including the Mayo, the Yaqui, and Seri. It has been economically important for its agriculture, livestock (especially beef), and mining since the colonial period, and for its status as a border state since the Mexican–American War. With the Gadsden Purchase, Sonora lost more than a quarter of its territory. From the 20th century to the present, industry, tourism, and agribusiness have dominated the economy, attracting migration from other parts of Mexico.

An Entertaining Article - The $30,000 Bequest and Other Stories by Mark Twain

21:10
An Entertaining Article: . Free audiobook of Mark Twain's "The $30,000 Bequest and Other Stories". Audio courtesy of Librivox. AN ENTERTAINING ARTICLE I take the following paragraph from an article in the Boston ADVERTISER: AN ENGLISH CRITIC ON MARK TWAIN Perhaps the most successful flights of humor of Mark Twain have been descriptions of the persons who did not appreciate his humor at all. We have become familiar with the Californians who were thrilled with terror by his burlesque of a newspaper reporter's way of telling a story, and we have heard of the Pennsylvania clergyman who sadly returned his INNOCENTS ABROAD to the book-agent with the remark that "the man who could shed tears over the tomb of Adam must be an idiot." But Mark Twain may now add a much more glorious instance to his string of trophies. The SATURDAY REVIEW, in its number of October 8th, reviews his book of travels, which has been republished in England, and reviews it seriously. We can imagine the delight of the humorist in reading this tribute to his power; and indeed it is so amusing in itself that he can hardly do better than reproduce the article in full in his next monthly Memoranda. (Publishing the above paragraph thus, gives me a sort of authority for reproducing the SATURDAY REVIEW'S article in full in these pages. I dearly wanted to do it, for I cannot write anything half so delicious myself. If I had a cast-iron dog that could read this English criticism and preserve his austerity, I would drive him off the door-step.) (From the London "Saturday Review.") REVIEWS OF NEW BOOKS THE INNOCENTS ABROAD. A Book of Travels. By Mark Twain. London: Hotten, publisher. 1870. Lord Macaulay died too soon. We never felt this so deeply as when we finished the last chapter of the above-named extravagant work. Macaulay died too soon--for none but he could mete out complete and comprehensive justice to the insolence, the impertinence, the presumption, the mendacity, and, above all, the majestic ignorance of this author. To say that the INNOCENTS ABROAD is a curious book, would be to use the faintest language--would be to speak of the Matterhorn as a neat elevation or of Niagara as being "nice" or "pretty." "Curious" is too tame a word wherewith to describe the imposing insanity of this work. There is no word that is large enough or long enough. Let us, therefore, photograph a passing glimpse of book and author, and trust the rest to the reader. Let the cultivated English student of human nature picture to himself this Mark Twain as a person capable of doing the following-described things--and not only doing them, but with incredible innocence PRINTING THEM calmly and tranquilly in a book. For instance: He states that he entered a hair-dresser's in Paris to get shaved, and the first "rake" the barber gave him with his razor it LOOSENED HIS "HIDE" and LIFTED HIM OUT OF THE CHAIR.

Mummy

A mummy is a deceased human or animal whose skin and organs have been preserved by either intentional or accidental exposure to chemicals, extreme cold, very low humidity, or lack of air, so that the recovered body does not decay further if kept in cool and dry conditions. Some authorities restrict the use of the term to bodies deliberately embalmed with chemicals, but the use of the word to cover accidentally desiccated bodies goes back to at least 1615 AD. (See the section Etymology and meaning.) Mummies of humans and other animals have been found on every continent, both as a result of natural preservation through unusual conditions, and as cultural artifacts. Over one million animal mummies have been found in Egypt, many of which are cats. (See: Animal mummy) This video is targeted to blind users. Mummies of humans and other animals have been found on every continent, both as a result of natural preservation through unusual conditions, and as cultural artifacts. Over one million animal mummies have been found in Egypt, many of which are cats. Many of the Egyptian animal mummies are sacred ibis, and radiocarbon dating suggests the Egyptian Ibis mummies that have been analyzed were from time frame that falls between approximately 450 and 250 BC.In addition to the well-known mummies of ancient Egypt, deliberate mummification was a feature of several ancient cultures in areas of America and Asia with very dry climates. The Spirit Cave mummies of Fallon, Nevada in North America were accurately dated at more than 9,400 years old. Before this discovery, the oldest known deliberate mummy was a child, one of the Chinchorro mummies found in the Camarones Valley, Chile, which dates around 5050 BC. The oldest known naturally mummified human corpse is a severed head dated as 6,000 years old, found in 1936 AD at the site named Inca Cueva No. 4 in South America.
