David Pocock Tribute - The Breakdown Master (RWC 2015)

05:21
A tribute to the breakdown master, who plays Openside Flanker and No. 8, David Pocock. His performance during the Rugby World Cup 2015 was outstanding, motivating the entire Wallabies team. Besides his masterful technique in turning the ball over, which stands out the most, he's also mastered controlling the ball at the back of a rolling maul to score tries. A personal inspiration of mine, as I'm sure is also for so many other rugby athletes out there. Enjoy! Songs: 1) Two Steps From Hell - Heart of Courage 2) Zack Hemsey - See What I've Become I do not own the music or videos

Former Uruguayan rugby players offer support to trapped miners

01:56
(4 Sep 2010) SHOTLIST 1. Convoy of vehicles arriving 2. Former Uruguay rugby player and Andes plane crash survivor Jose Luis Inciarte stepping out of car 3. Inciarte greeting miner's wife 4. SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Jose Luis Inciarte, Uruguay plane crash survivor: (asked if the miners' and the rugby players' stories were similiar) "It's totally the opposite though it has an initial part which is very similar, which is when they were looking for them once the mine collapsed, and our initial situation when we were waiting to be rescued and 10 days later we heard (on the radio) that they thought we were dead and had stopped the search. From that point on, both stories are different. In our case we had to look for a way out ourselves by our own means and we only made it around Christmas time." 5. Uruguayans and some of the wives of the trapped miners holding an Uruguayan flag 6. SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Gustavo Servino, Uruguay plane crash survivor: "We are very happy to be able to share this with the families, they will soon come out, we must bring hope to all Chileans." 7. Various of journalists gathered around the Uruguayans 8. SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Pedro Algorta, Uruguay plane crash survivor: "We feel very emotional, we also bring the message of our families who waited for us to return from the mountain." (Q: How long did you stay there?") "We were lost for 72 days. And that was a long time ago but the good thing is we were able to get out and now we are fine and they will be too, they'll come out and they will be ok, that's the message we want to bring them." 9. Journalists around the Uruguayans 10. Red cross volunteers at camp site holding Uruguay flag STORYLINE Former rugby players from Uruguay on Saturday visited the mine in northern Chile where 33 miners were trapped underground. The men, who survived more than two months of isolation in the snow-covered Andes after their plane crashed, urged the miners to stay strong, and met some of the miners' relatives. "They'll come out and they will be ok, that's the message we want to bring them," said Pedro Algorta, one of the four plane crash survivors visiting the San Jose copper and gold mine in Copiapo. The men communicated with the miners by video, urging them to appreciate the relative good fortune that nobody had died in the partial tunnel collapse at the mine on 5 August, 2010. They said that they were moved by the miners' fortitude. Jose Inciarte, another Uruguayan survivor said the two stories are different but share some similarities. "It has an initial part which is very similar, which is when they were looking for them once the mine collapsed, and our initial situation when we were waiting to be rescued and 10 days later we heard (on the radio) that they thought we were dead and had stopped the search," he explained. After speaking to the miners deep underground, the men presented a Uruguayan flag, which they said they would leave at the camp as a symbol of Latin American solidarity. "Viva, Chile!" they yelled. Algorta, Inciarte and Gustavo Servino were among 16 Uruguayans who survived a plane crash in snow-covered Andean peaks in 1972. They waited 72 days to be rescued, and some had to eat the flesh of friends killed in the crash to stay alive. Their story inspired the book and movie "Alive." The four ex-players arrived in the Chilean capital, Santiago, on Friday and met President Sebastian Pinera. Just a handful of miners' relatives received the Uruguayans; many have started to come and go as rescuers pursue what could be a months long process of digging a tunnel wide enough to get the men out. Relatives had held a constant vigil for the 17 days it took rescuers to make their first contact with the miners. Across The Ditch Sports Wrap: All Blacks Win Rugby World Champs Beat Wallabies

11:32
Across The Ditch: Selwyn Manning crosses live to Australia to join radio FiveAA.com.au's Peter Godfrey for an Across The Ditch post Rugby World Cup wrap up of the All Blacks versus Wallabies final. A very gracious Peter Godfrey congratulates NZ on the All Blacks becoming the Rugby World Champions for the third time.Recorded live on 2/11/15. The Best of the Game: The Wallabies second half recovery had everyone thinking it was going Australia's way. From Australia's 3 points to the All Blacks 21, most people here thought it was all over. But a wise nephew of mine in Sydney texted to say wait it is early days. Next thing, the Wallabies were 17 points to the All Blacks 21, and, suddenly, it was game on. That was a phenomenal statement by Australia. Dan Carter's drop goal a short time later arrested the Wallabies' run, and we saw two world class tries run in by Ma'a Nonu and Beaudon Barratt with conversions by Dan Carter that phase set the final score... 34 - 17. A fabulous fast running game, the best of Southern Hemisphere Rugby. In the words of former Wallabies captain George Gregan... "Four more years boys, four more years!" ;-) Across The Ditch broadcasts live each week on Thursdays on Australia's radio FiveAA.com.au and webcasts on EveningReport.nz LiveNews.co.nz and ForeignAffairs.co.nz.

Driving about eight hours west of Sydney and we arrive at the home of the Cobar Camels. In the rich, red centre of Australia we find a club that loves the game, and embraces the challenges that come with it’s isolation. Travelling 130km to its closest & 480km to furthest game, the club use this as an opportunity to bond as a team. With the Copper mine integral to the towns economy, Netava Tagi, a former Fijian international, describes the opportunity he was given to co-coach ‘The Camels’ along with being provided an employment opportunity. The BEST Fiji Day in Sydney - Ever!!! Fiji Day Sydney 2015

32:46
Fiji Day, Liverpool, Sydney, Australia Saturday 17th October, 2015 Why its 'The BEST Fiji Day in Sydney - Ever!!!'? Hmm...well, here's a brief list: 1. Ferris Wheels!!! Ooh! Ferris Wheels!! Lol Its the first thing you notice when you rock up. No, not jumping castles for adorable toddlers but actual Ferris wheels and rides you'd usually find at The Royal Sydney Easter Show - you know, for adrenaline junkie teens and young adults who enjoy that more than aimlessly roaming around and people watching lol And guess what!? There was also a swimming pool! Lucky kids lol For once, you actually enjoy yourself. 2. Being extremely privileged to be graced by the presence of Fiji's Very Own Nation Leader and his delegation who were also special guests. A lot of Ozzie-Fijians were VERY LUCKY to have taken advantage of this grand opportunity in meeting our nation leaders face to face to have our queries and questions regarding iTaukei matters answered and learn more on how to invest back into Fiji in order to help contribute to Fiji's growing economy. The Fijian Govt officials and staff were very helpful, very patient, very generous, very compassionate and were more than willing to serve us. Highly commendable. Yes, we the ordinary Ozzie-Fijians living in a first world, highly developed country making big money and gaining knowledge are also called to play an important role in helping Fiji grow into an even stronger, better and brighter nation. United We Stand! A few of our nation's great leaders, people of power and authority who were present were: *Our Nation Leader, Hon Prime Minister and Minister for i-Taukei Affairs and Sugar Industry, Rear Admiral (Retired) Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama with his amazing wife and First Lady, Mary. *Hon Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Faiyaz Koya *Hon Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Mereseini Vuniwaqa *Hon Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu and a few others who are key to building Fiji's legacy in the Asia-Pacific region whom I haven't mentioned here were also present. 3. One Name, Jese Mucunabitu. If you haven't cried to any of his patriotic songs, then I don't know saraga what to tell you. All his songs are poetry in motion, conjuring up vivid images of our beautiful homeland. Very, very powerful stuff. Songs: Heaven in My Fiji | Artist: Jese Mucunabitu We Are Fiji | Composer: Daniel Rae Costello ft. Various Fijian Artists My Island, Beautiful Island | Artist: Jese Mucunabitu Magic of The Islands | Artist: Jese Mucunabitu TAGS: Fiji Day, Sydney, Liverpool, Australia, Fiji, Fijians, Fijian Government, Fiji's Head of State and Government Ministries

Rugby's racial divide scrutinised in South Africa

02:49
South Africa's biggest township, Soweto, is officially football territory. But, slowly, rugby is making inroads. The country's national rugby union team, the Springboks, are one of the best squads in the World. However, their recent performances have been overshadowed by criticism that the team does not have enough black players. South Africa will name their squad on Friday, and its racial make-up will be heavily scrutinised. This is a long-standing point of controversy as officials have been accused of not including enough black players. Fahmida Miller reports from Johannesburg. HUGE Oil Deposit In Australia?

02:02
" Australian resources firm Linc Energy said it had uncovered a huge oil deposit in the nation's vast outback in a discovery hailed Thursday by officials as worth some Aus$20 trillion (US$21 trillion). Linc said two independent reviews of its three deposits in central Australia's Arckaringa Basin had estimated there was up to 233 billion barrels of shale oil trapped within its rocks."* There is apparently a huge deposit of oil in the Australian outback, which the nation is excited about, because it may represent energy independence for them. It just leaves us wondering...how soon until we invade Australia? Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian discuss the discovery. *Read more from AFP: http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5iDu3ucMhmgDHU3rK6zF5nF9vUWLA?docId=CNG.5a3a510bd2c2f58cc1619373c6d6e2c6.161 Support The Young Turks by Subscribing http://bit.ly/TYTonYouTube Like Us on Facebook: Follow Us on Twitter: http://bit.ly/OkX87X Buy TYT Merch: http://theyoungturks.spreadshirt.com/

Jean De Villiers' First Vlog? // CRICKET VS RUGBY

09:49
I joined Jean De Villiers, Scarra and Seabelo (Stormers) and other awesome people in one of the Clipper - Round the World Race yacht. We raced against Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Chris Rogers and Cam Van Der Burgh in another yacht...guess who won? Follow Me - FB: https://web.facebook.com/adamspiresvlogger/ Insta: @adamspiresvlog Follow Chris - FB - https://web.facebook.com/ChrisRogersZA/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSaffabru The Clipper Race is one of the biggest challenges of the natural world and an endurance test like no other. With no previous sailing experience necessary, it’s a record breaking 40,000 nautical mile race around the world on a 70-foot ocean racing yacht. The brainchild of Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, the first person to sail solo non-stop around the world, the event is now on its eleventh edition. Divided into eight legs and 13 to 16 individual races, you can choose to complete the full circumnavigation or select individual legs. It is the only race in the world where the organisers supply a fleet of twelve identical racing yachts, each with a fully qualified skipper to safely guide the crew. Normally the domain of seasoned pros, this supreme challenge is taken on by ordinary, everyday people. Having completed a rigorous training course, participants are suited and booted in the latest extreme protection gear to commence the race of their lives - an unparalleled challenge where taxi drivers rub shoulders with chief executives, vicars mix with housewives, students work alongside bankers, and engineers team up with rugby players. The sea does not distinguish between Olympians or novices. There is nowhere to hide - if Mother Nature throws down the gauntlet, you must be ready to face the same challenges as the pro racer. Navigate the Doldrums en route to South America, endure epic Southern Ocean storms, experience South African sunsets, face the mountainous seas of the North Pacific - and bond with an international crew creating lifelong memories before returning victorious. Applications are now open for the 2019-20 edition of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Seize the moment, unleash the adventure. Vodwall Live Streams Pacific Climate Warriors Coal Industry Protest - Newcastle, NSW

03:16
Vodwall Live, a US-based video blog site, went to Newcastle, Australia on October 17, 2014 to film and live stream the Pacific Climate Warriors peaceful protest of Australia’s fossil fuels and coal industry. 30 Pacific Island chiefs and their entourage from 12 Pacific Islands arrived in Australia to form a flotilla blockade of hand carved canoes all brought over from their home islands. The Warriors created the blockade against coal ships leaving the Port of Newcastle as a political statement to save the Pacific waters from the destruction of coal fracking and mining. Over 100 canoes, kayaks, small boats and rafts were met with heavy local and marine police obstruction and roughness in the water and on the beach. 12 coal ships were blocked, delayed or turned back from entering the Newcastle Port. #StandUpForThePacific
