Interactive Machine Learning: Leveraging Human Intelligence

01:06:14
Advances in processor speed and in machine learning algorithms have brought machine learning within the interactive time scale. It is now possible on many problems for a user to annotate data, train a classifier and receive feedback on the classification in 4-5 seconds. This very tight feedback loop on machine learning opens many possibilities for user interfaces that interactively manage far more information than the user can visualize. This not only changes the way we might interact with information but also changes the way we pose our machine learning problems. Having a user in a tight loop changes the distribution of training data as well as imposes constraints on training algorithms. This talk will explore these issues as well as present preliminary data on how humans and machine learning can interact.

Embedded Automatic Model Training & Forecasting in an Enterprise Software App., Greg Makowski

01:05:11
Greg Makowski, Director of Data Science, LigaDATA How can the process of Knowledge Discovery in Databases be automated, competitive and reliable? One approach is to focus on a narrow vertical market application, with known data sources and data feeds. Then you can automate the Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and Preprocessing phases. But how do you automate the selection of training data? Can the enterprise application be installed and configured at a variety of clients without a Senior Knowledge Discovery Engineer? How can you minimize "worst case" results of such a system when used by a business user going through their normal business role? How can you deeply investigate and model "business values" (i.e. things that can get an end user promoted or fired) into the core of the data mining algorithms? This talk will answer these questions and more. The patent-pending application, ELF, is an enterprise application in the retail supply chain vertical market. Before the development of this system, one enterprise application was used to lay out a weekly newspaper flier three weeks before the sales event, which in turn fed data into a replenishment application. The replenishment application kept products on the store shelves, with a minimal amount of over stock and under stock. The pain point was that the retail buyer would have to manually estimate the the sales lift, or the multiplier increase in sales, for every item for every store. While human expertise can be great, it isn't as scalable when applied to a sales event with 1,000 - 4,000 items on sale in 6,000 stores. ELF (Event Lift Forecasting) would import data from a planned event and automatically analyze and forecast the lift for each store-item combination. Data elements used included pricing, placement in the flier, store geography and demographics, seasonality, and product hierarchy. The resulting ELF system produced a 8-30% reduction in over and under stock costs, which is very significant in terms of the low profit margins in the supply chain industry. Speaker Bio Greg Makowski is Director of Data Science at LigaDATA. Prior to that, he was Lead Data Scientist at Elastica,. At CashEdge (acquired by Fiserv), he was Director of Risk Analytics and Policy. He was a Principal Consultant of Golden Data Mining, in Los Altos, California. Since 1992, he has deployed over 70 data mining models for clients in targeted marketing, financial services, supply chain, e-commerce, and Internet advertising in North America, South America and Europe. He has applied a variety of data mining algorithms during these engagements and has experience using SQL, SAS, Java, and areas of Cloud Computing. Greg has eight years of experience in Product Management and over six years of experience working with start ups. http://www.LinkedIn.com/in/GregMakowski http://www.meetup.com/SF-Bay-ACM/ http://www.sfbayacm.org/ Slides: http://www.slideshare.net/gregmakowski/Embedded-Automatic-Model-Training-and-Forc-in-an-Enterprise-SW-Applic Greg did an encore performance here due to our scheduled speaker being unable to attend.

KEYWORD SEARCH METHOD FOR UNSTRUCTURED,SEMI STRUCTURED & STRUCTURED DATA TRAINING VIDEO,.

06:19
Data mining and text analytics and noisy text analytics techniques are different methods used to find patterns in, or otherwise interpret, this information. Common techniques for structuring text usually involve manual tagging with metadata or Part-of-speech tagging for further text mining-based structuring. UIMA provides a common framework for processing this information to extract meaning and create structured data about the information. Software that creates machine-processable structure exploits the linguistic, auditory, and visual structure that is inherent in all forms of human communication.[5] This inherent structure can be inferred from text, for instance, by examining word morphology, sentence syntax, and other small- and large-scale patterns. Unstructured information can then be enriched and tagged to address ambiguities and relevancy-based techniques then used to facilitate search and discovery. Examples of "unstructured data" may include books, journals, documents, metadata, health records, audio, video, files, and unstructured text such as the body of an e-mail message, Web page, or word processor document. While the main content being conveyed does not have a defined structure, it generally comes packaged in objects (e.g. in files or documents, ...) that themselves have structure and are thus a mix of structured and unstructured data, but collectively this is still referred to as "unstructured data".[6] For example, an HTML web page is tagged, but HTML mark-up is typically designed solely for rendering. It does not capture the meaning or function of tagged elements in ways that support automated processing of the information content of the page. XHTML tagging does allow machine processing of elements although it typically does not capture or convey the semantic meaning of tagged terms. Since unstructured data is commonly found in electronic documents, the use of a content or document management system through which entire documents are categorized is often preferred over data transfer and manipulation from within the documents. Document management is thus the means to convey structure onto document collections. Analytics on Large Scale, Unstructured, Dynamic Data using Lambda Architecture

33:16
Lambda architecture, at its core, is a set of architecture principles that allows both batch and real-time or stream data processing to work together while building immutability, recomputation and human fault tolerance into the system. It has three layers - batch, serving and speed: The batch layer is responsible for computing arbitrary views on the master data. Our master data is an immutable store in HDFS and we compute views using a series of Map Reduce jobs using Scalding and Spark. Our batch system runs recomputation every day on our entire data set. The serving layer indexes and exposes precomputed views to be queried ad-hoc with low latency. We use HBase, Solr and our own inhouse inmemory implementation for the serving layer. The speed layer deals only with new data and compensates for the high latency updates of the serving layer by creating realtime views. Our real time latency requirements are in few hours and not in seconds, which allows us to use a micro-batch architecture that is a stripped down version of our batch layer and uses the same technologies. To get the final result, the batch and realtime views must be queried and the results merged together. In this talk, the speaker explains the following: Why Lambda Architecture? What problems did it solve for us? Technical Challenges encountered in building the lambda architecture Schema Evolution HDFS Small Files Issue Code re-use between batch and real time systems Modeling the data pipelines for each layer Open problems

Introduction to Data Analytics with R, Tableau & Excel | Data Analytics Career in 2019 & Beyond https://acadgild.com/big-data/data-analytics-training-certification?aff_id=6003&source=youtube&account=UgnojgSKQLk&campaign=youtube_channel&utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=intro-DA-R-tableau-excel&utm_campaign=youtube_channel Did you know? by 2020, every human being will create over 1.5 megabytes of data per second on average. In 2025, the sum of digital data will add up to 180 zettabytes, which is over 1600 trillion gigabytes. Considering these numbers, it is an understatement to say that the data is only BIG. So, what is Big Data and how is it related to Data Analytics? Big data is a large volume of data that consists of both structured and unstructured data forms. helps organizations to draw meaningful insights from their data to learn and grow. Thus, it’s the data that matters and not it’s volume. Structured data is organized information that can be accessed with the help of simple search algorithms. While Unstructured data as the name suggests is less uniform and thus difficult to work with. The lack of structure makes compiling data at a time and energy-consuming task. The Relation Between Big Data and Analytics: The process of uncovering hidden patterns, unknown correlations, market trends, customer preferences and other useful information from both structured and unstructured data is called Data analytics. The Benefits of Using Data Analytics. • Analytics help organizations make informed decisions and choices. • It boosts the overall performance of the organization by refining the financial processes, increasing visibility, providing insights and granting control over managerial processes. • It detects fraud and flaws by keeping a close vigil. • It further Improves the IT economy by increasing agility and flexibility of systems. The above mentioned are just a few advantages, however, the list goes on. Despite the growing interest in data analytics, there is an acute shortage of professionals with good data analytical skills. Thus, only 0.5% of the data we produce is analysed. There is a serious shortage of skilled professionals. Thus, the ones who are called proficient data analysts must have certain skills. They must possess a varied skill-set like computer science, data mining and business management to provide from the data they are working on. Their computer science skills should include both programming skills and technical skills • Programming Skills: Python, R, and Java • Technical Skills: Knowledge of platforms like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc., Their data skills should include Warehousing Skills, Quantitative & Statistical Skills & Analytical & Interpretation Skills • Warehousing Skills: Data scientist must possess good analytical skills • Quantitative & Statistical Skills: As technology is a key aspect of big data analysis, quantitative and statistical skills are essential • Analytical & Interpretation Skills: knacks to analyses and interpret data The business skills are important to use the data effectively and to improve various aspects such as operations, finance, productivity, etc., These are the skills that make the data analytics professional an invaluable asset to the organization. The lack of skilled data professionals is an opportunity in turn for upcoming data scientists to make their mark in the field of data analytics. As the significance of data grows in the business world, the value of professionals working in analytics also increases. This is creating a variety of job roles amongst organizations and they are. Data Analyst, Analytics Consultant, Business Analyst, Analytics Manager, Data Architect, Metrics and Analytics Specialist, Analytics Associate these are only some of the job titles that data analytics professionals can acquire in business organizations. The list is presumably greater. The Chief Software Platforms are R, Tableau & Excel R is one of the robust statistical computing solutions. Tableau is the foremost business intelligence platform that offers eminent data visualization and exploration capabilities. Coming to Excel, it is used for managing, manipulating and presenting data. When combined, Tableau, R and Excel offer the most powerful and complete data analytics solutions. So, the demand for data analytics and its professionals is augmenting at a great pace. Organizations are interested in analysts to maximize their data potential, while professionals are interested in capitalizing on the analytical crunch in many parts of the world. #DataAnalytics, #Tableau, #R, #Excel, #career Please like share and subscribe the channel for more such video. The Limitations of Big Data in Predictive Analytics | DataEngConf SF '17

39:39
Don’t miss the next DataEngConf in Barcelona: https://dataeng.co/2O0ZUq7 Recorded at DataEngConf SF '17 The total amount of data available to human beings currently doubles every 18-24 months, giving data scientists an unprecedented opportunity to push further than ever the boundaries of human knowledge. This is an exciting time for data professionals. Many are hopeful that these huge loads of data will enable data-greedy algorithms like deep neural networks to unlock a myriad of new possibilities for humankind. But can big data really answer all our questions? No matter how useful and powerful, in the wrong hands, data can also easily lead to ill-informed decisions and wrong assumptions. In her talk, Jennifer will cover the reasons why better algorithms matter just as much as the amount of data available, and will describe the dangers and perils that the data scientist of the future will need to thwart using increasingly advanced mathematical knowledge, refined strategies and human rationality. Get Recruitment Notifications of all private and govt jobs , Mock test details ,Previous year question papers only at Freshersworld.com – the No.1 jobsite for entry level candidates in India. (To register : http://freshersworld.com?src=Youtube ) – This video is all about “Careers and Training courses for Big Data There are a handful of working definitions for big data, but to me it is most simply put as data sets so large and complex that it becomes difficult or impossible to process them using traditional database management applications. Granted, the term may apply differently to different organizations. For a smaller company, facing hundreds of gigabytes of data for the first time may trigger a need to explore new tools. Other companies that generate tons of transactional data, like UPS, wouldn't flinch with their existing toolsets until they hit tens or hundreds of terabytes. For freshers who wants to start learning big data here are a few tips: 1. Begin with the basics: If you are looking at building a career in big data, you can start with developing the core aptitudes such as curiosity, agility, statistical fluency, research, scientific rigor and skeptical nature. You have to decide which facet of data investigation (data wrangling, management, exploratory analysis, prediction) are you looking at acquiring. The first step to learning big data is to develop basic level of familiarity with programming languages. 2. Experience in programming languages: Begin with developing basic data literacy and an analytic mindset by building knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C++, Pig Latin and HiveQL. Figure out where you want to apply your data analytics skills to describe, predict, and inform business decisions in the specific areas of marketing, human resources, finance, and operations. 3. Expertise in Hadoop: Developing knowledge about Hadoop Map-Reduce and Java is essential if you’re looking to be a high-performance data software engineer. 4. What are you looking for? If you are looking for a career switch to big data, begin with developing the skill sets required to work with Hadoop. A well-rounded understanding of Hadoop requires experience in large-scale distributed systems and knowledge of programming languages. 5. Data Analytics Skills: If you want to learn the fundamentals and want to get an indepth understanding of every aspect of Big Data, the resource material provided by Apache’s library is very useful. The Hadoop programme offered by Apache is an open-source software for reliable, scalable, distributed computing. Some of the other programmes offered are HBase Hive, Mahout, Pig ZooKeeper. 6. Online Courses: The big data universe is still very young, to get a well rounded expertise in big data it is important to learn and hone skills related to the subject. Decide on the course based on the skill set you're looking to get. Just by dedicating some time and energy, you can tackle learning big data with these free online classes. Applications of Big Data Big data includes problems that involve such large data sets and solutions that require a complex connecting the dots. You can see such things everywhere. 1. Quora and Facebook use Big data tools to understand more about you and provide you with a feed that you in theory should find it interesting. The fact that the feed is not interesting should show how hard the problem is. 2. Credit card companies analyze millions of transactions to find patterns of fraud. 3. There are similar problems in defense, retail, genomics, pharma, healthcare that requires a solution. The companies offering jobs on Big Data are : Qualcomm India Pvt Ltd, Accenture, Dev Solutions So let us summarize as Big Data is a group of problems and technologies related to the availability of extremely large volumes of data that businesses want to connect and understand. The reason why the sector is hot now is that the data and tools have reached a critical mass. This occurred in parallel with years of education effort that has convinced organizations that they must do something with their data treasure. Preparing Clinical Trial Data for Reporting and Analysis

49:16
Learn a better way to prepare clinical trial data for reporting and analysis. -- Many companies have made great strides in standardizing and conforming subject data collected in clinical trials, in order to have a more efficient and repeatable way of delivering the data to reporting systems for statistical analysis and regulatory submissions. Typically, preparing data is made up of the following three steps: 1. Specifying the conformed data 2. Programming the conformed specification 3. Validating the written programs work as expected Please join BioPharm Systems' Michael Grossman, vice president of clinical data warehousing and analytics, for a complimentary one-hour webinar that will discuss and demonstrate one way to dramatically reduce the effort of specification and validation, as well as remove the programming step in its entirety. The ensuing programs are automatically generated in Oracle Life Sciences Data Hub (LSH) and as standalone SAS. The end result is a significant increase in the productivity of data preparation and conforming for internal use, along with runnable programs that can be sent to regulatory authorities and partners. 29:09
Speakers: Ameet Chaubal, Technologist and Fausto Inestroza, Architect at Accenture Slides: http://www.slideshare.net/planetcassandra/ameet-chaubal/ The presentation aims to highlight the challenges posed by large scale and near real-time data processing problems. In past, such problems were solved using conventional technologies, primarily a database and JMS queue. However these solutions had their limits and presented serious problems in terms of scale and redundancy. The new breed of products - a la Cassandra & Kafka, being innately distributed in their design, aim to tackle such challenges in a very elegant manner. The presentation will showcase some of the use cases of this genre from the industry and describe the solutions which have been increasing in their sophistication.

What are PCIe and ePCIe Explained in 6 minutes

06:44
A Beginners Guide to Choosing the Right PCIe Card - What is PCIe and ePCIe? https://www.span.com/search/thunderbolt3_space_PCIe_space_chassis/10- It is fair to say that computers have now existed in the home for more than 40 years and over that time, almost every single part of the technology has evolved, been replaced or superseded. Even the concept of the home computer being a regular and predictable keyboard, mouse and screen interface has been on the decline for the last 10 years with everyone going mobile. Over the course of all those decades, despite the changes, there have been a number of ports that have managed to adapt and survive as waves of innovation and obsolescence go by. I am talking about the likes of USB for external peripherals, LAN for your internet and network connection and audio ports for your microphones and speakers. But the most often overlooked mainstay in computer systems (and I am talking Mac and Windows) is of course PCIe, known as Peripheral Component Interconnect Express. But what is PCIe? What makes it so important and impressive that it has survived in PC hardware for so long? And what can I use it for? Find out below. Did you enjoy the video? Find it helpful? Want to hear more?
