War Eagle Mine - Scouting nearby mines

I come across many prospecting sites and shafts connecting to the mine. Sorry for the high wind noise and out-of-breath narrations. San Diego Mine Enthusiasts - Documenting and preserving our nations mining history for the education of all. "Embraced, not erased!! -HISTORY- The claim for the War Eagle Mine (and other nearby mines) was staked in 1877 by William "Professor" & Robert Brown who soon became BCG&SMC (Balance Consolidated Gold & Silver Mining Co.). It was part of the Tecopa Mines group and produced an abundance of Silver and Lead, as well as some Gold, and other profitable minerals such as Dolomite used in brick and glass making. The newer eastern portal was tunneled-in from the East slope in 1950 to access a lode of high-grade lead ore. Geologist Chick Joy was said to have planned the joining so well, that the two tunnels were only off by an inch! Tracks from his Irish Setter, "Danny", may still be seen deep inside the mine. The newer western section of the mine saw 40lb steel rails set at 24" for ore removal. Later on, manchas (or battery powered trammers) operated on them replacing mules and muckers. The mine had two main decline shafts (eastern and western), which slope at 45+ degree angles and descend in excess of 500 to 650' each, connected with miles of drift tunnels. In the workings can be found many large stope caverns from which the ore and country rock were removed. Also large ballrooms, or "glory holes" can be observed. Ore was transported to a Utah smelter via Morgan Bros. Trucking. After a hard day's work, miners would frequent The Snake Room, a local watering hole in Tecopa, to ingest terrific amounts of ale, and create plights that would live-on in local tales for generations. The mine was last worked in 1957 by the Anaconda Co. A large ore bin remains outside the western portal.

Investors are returning to Bosnia's mines

04:54
(8 Oct 2018) LEADIN The town of Vares, deep in central Bosnia, had long been a mining town, until the Bosnian war crippled the local economy. But investors are returning and old stories of gold hidden in the hills are encouraging locals to hope for a more prosperous future. STORYLINE : For centuries, the central Bosnian town of Vares has been a thriving mining community, making good use of its rich mineral deposits. But its lead, barite and zinc mines and its steelworks were shut down on the eve of the country's brutal 1992-95 war. They were subsequently badly damaged during the conflict. The mountain town has never recovered. Over the past two decades, it lost two thirds of its pre-war population, but the remaining 9,000 residents of Vares are now abuzz with the talk of a "golden" future.   "There is gold in Vares and I am talking about significant gold deposits, we also have silver (deposits) and (deposits of) all other precious metals," Vares resident Katarina Duvanjic excitedly declared, echoing the prevailing sentiment in the town where everybody now appears to be talking of gold. "Yes, there are traces in the mud. You can find traces in the mud. I can't tell if it is gold or copper, but we find it, small fragments, small spots, in the mud," interjects her friend Mirjana Dovadzija. For many generations, Vares's residents believed that the high mountains that surround their town are hiding in their depths, alongside the long-explored base metals, substantial quantities of gold and silver, but that those were never properly looked for due to high cost and administrative obstacles. But then in 2012, the UK company Adriatic Metals Ltd, was granted exploration concession of three polymetallic fields outside Vares, with varying degrees of historic exploration and exploitation of lead, zinc and barite. Its fully owned Bosnian subsidiary, Eastern Mining, began drilling probes in 2017 and the initial results from some of the holes at its Rupice site, announced in June, confirmed the presence of a diverse cocktail of high-grade minerals - including copper, silver and gold - which warrants further exploration. The company has since submitted a request for a major land expansion to its existing concession agreement. Eastern Mining director, Milos Bosnjakovic, says the company's primary hope is to confirm the presence of commercially viable deposits of lead, zinc and barite, but that it is clearly also "keeping an eye" on possible reserves of precious metals. "The results for gold and silver from some of the probe holes are, I would not say significant, but definitely worthy of attention," Bosnjakovic adds. "In order to one day consider separation of gold, we would have to prove the existence of significant quantities…but I would be lying if I said that it was not something we are hoping for." The cautious optimism of the UK-based, ASX-listed concession-holding company and its stated focus on base metals is not dampening the hopes of Vares's people, fed by the city's lore of gold. "There are already some new people in town, about 10 of them, they are going up there and digging. They are doing something, drilling, and they already employed about 10 local people," says another Vares resident, Dario Marjancevic. Zdravko Marosevic, the mayor of Vares, is also optimistic, insisting that historic records - including some from before World War I when Bosnia was under the sway of the Austro-Hungarian empire - confirm Vares is rich in mineral deposits. Gunsite (Gunsight) Mine Exploration - Tecopa, California

27:39
This video describes our examination on 4-12- 2018 of the Gunsite lead/silver mine near Tecopa, CA. The mine dates back to the 1870's and has an interesting history. There have been three boom periods for the mining business in the Tecopa area and the town of Tecopa has moved a few times in response to the boom cycles. The first boom is known as the Osborne period 1874-1881 The second boom is known as the Tecopa Consolidated Mining period (TCM) 1906-1928 The third boom is the Shoshone Mines Inc., Finley Co., and Anaconda Copper Mining Co. 1940-1957 First boom: In 1875 the Brown brothers, William and Robert, discovered silver lead ore in the southern Nopah mountain range, which lead to the start of the Balance mine. They organized a mining district named Brown's Treasure which later changed to Resting Springs. The Brown's sold an interest in the Balance mine to George Hearst, an entrepreneur and father of famed newspaper man William Randolph Hearst, among other San Francisco financiers, and formed the Balance Consolidated Gold and Silver Mining Co. (BCG&SMC) They started development of the mine in the fall which led to the start of the Resting Spring Mining District. The BCG&SMC started a town named Brownsville, in honor of the brothers, located at the beginning of China Ranch wash. In late 1875 Jonas P. Osborne, a superintendent of a mining company in Eureka, Nevada, bought an interest in several of the Brown brothers claims, and moved to Brownsville. He worked on ideas to reduce ore shipping costs by trying to concentrate the ore with a large scale smelter near the mines. To build the smelter he needed financial backing, which he obtained from several people, after Hearst refused to back him. They formed the Los Angles Mining and Smelting Co. (LAM&SC). Osborne then bought the BCG&SMC mines, the Noonday and four other mines directly from the Brown's. He then sold them to LAM&SC in exchange for half the company's stock and a position as mine superintendent. LAM&SC bought several mines in the area, including the Gunsite (Gunsight), from other miners who had claims in the area. This led to an influx of about 400 men to Brownsville. In September of 1876 Osborne bought Brownsville from the Brown's for $100 and started selling lots for $75 each and changed the name to Tecopa. The name Tecopa comes from the name of the local Southern Paiute "chief" Tecopa. By January of 1878 the smelter was up and running and by August Tecopa had a population of about 200. During 1878 Osborne's smelter proved to be a failure due to the number of men needed to operate it (40), many needed repairs, the need to haul wood and convert it to charcoal and an insufficient water supply. In late 1878 he gave up on the smelter. He then convinced LAM&SC to invest in a new device, the Davis Pulverizer, which was a rotary mill, and set it up near Resting Spring. Resting Spring had been a water and rest stop on the Old Spanish Trail since 1829. Here, Osborne once again, plotted out a new town site and sold lots. By February 1879 building was on going at Resting Spring and Tecopa had nearly been abandoned. Ore was being brought from the Noonday and Gunsite mines to the pulverizer in Resting Springs. This became the second location for Tecopa. After a new freight route, from Mojave around southern Death Valley and on to Resting Spring, made by freighter Remi Nadeau, the pulverizer became less viable and failed. After the failure of the pulverizer Osborne built a 10-stamp mill a couple miles south and downhill from Resting Spring. Ore from the Gunsite was milled here and water was piped from Resting Spring. The mill turned out to be too inefficient to be profitable and couldn't pay for it's operating costs along with the cost of mining. After the mill failed to make concentrating the ore and there by reducing the shipping costs profitable, Osborne decided to make moving ore from the Gunsite to the mill more efficient. He spent a lot of money digging a 600 foot long adit, on the 300 foot level, to eliminate the need to lift the ore that was then loaded on mule teams that hauled the ore down the mountain on switch backs. He later built a tram around the corner of the mountain from the adit to haul the ore down the mountain and replace the mule teams. By 1880 Osborne sold off his stock and resigned. In July 1881 the stockholders refused to pay another stock assessment and LAM&SC closed. The Gunsite had produced $260,000 of bullion but it was not enough to cover operating expenses. The TCM period, The Shoshone Mines Inc., Finley Co., and Anaconda Copper Mining Co. period are also interesting and I encourage you to research them if you like. This is the limit YouTube allows for a video description.

The Durand Group - descending into a multi level WW1 tunnel system at Loos.

06:06
What you are seeing are members of the Durand Group reconnoitring a deep shaft leading 8m down from the upper level of tunnels at "The Copse" Sector - Loos, to an intermediate fighting tunnel below. Even further below lies a third level of tunnels consisting of a defensive lateral with numerous fighting galleries, some at a depth of over 150ft. In 1917 the tunnels were administered by 3rd Australian Tunnelling Company. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since 1998 The Durand Group - a voluntary association dedicated to researching and investigating subterranean military features - has been recording and interpreting the underground war on the Western Front during WW1. This includes the disarming of live mine charges left over from the conflict, many of which exist in deep tunnels below the old battlefields. Our remit is to disseminate this information to the general public and we are passionate about what we do. To this end we hope that you can support us in our endeavours. Multimedia reports of most of our excavations are available on Amazon, eBay and the Fougasse Films website and funds raised from sales go directly to supporting further excavations, talks, displays and publications. Clash of Clans is a Strategy game where players build communities, train troops, and attack other players to get gold, trophies, elixirs and dark elixirs, build defenses that protect players from attack by other players, and to train and improve abilities and numbers of troops . [2] The game also features a pseudo campaign where players must attack a series of goblin village fortresses. [2] There are a number of buildings available for players to defend their communities, including Mortars, Cannon, Bomb, Archer Tower, Wizard Tower, to Giant Bomb. Players can also build walls that can be increased in strength, depending on the level achieved. [3] [3] [4] Clan War The main gameplay component of Clash of Clans is the battle clan against other clans. Clan leaders (leaders) and deputy leaders (Co-leaders) can start war against other clans. Each clan is then given one "preparation day" and one "war day". When a player attacks a member of an opponent's clan, they receive a star based on the amount of damage they cause. Each player is limited to two attacks each time a war, and the team that collects the most stars at the end of the day is declared victorious, and players receive spoils of war bonuses if they use their attacks in war and win at least one war, and every result of that war property (gold and elixir will be stored in the castle clan). [4] [5] Preparation Day After the Clan War is started by the Leader or Co-leader and determines the number of players and who the players participate in, then you and your Clan will have 23 hours to prepare for the battle to be faced. During this time, you can make adjustments to the base and guard troops or the contents of Clan Castle. Before the battle starts, you can change the layout of the strongest Base War to your liking and fill the troops of your Clan Castle, you can also see each opponent's base clan during preparation day. Battle Day or Battle Day When 23 hours of Preparation Day has passed, your clan must be ready for the attacker's strategy to win. Each player is given a raid twice during Battle Day, so you and your clan member must get a star every time they make an attack. At the end of the war, the Clan who produced the most stars from the attack won the Clan War. If both clans get the same star (draw) then the victory will be calculated from the total damage. . watch also other videos: push trophy LEGEND LEAGUE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixgktEuMGGE&list=PLYWZ8bS5cfykIqCqnVpJ_zrAKWPKe1_rc FAST BUILLD BASE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAtNISC2roT0h7WnEC2oPyw/playlists?view_as=subscriber BACKSOUND FROM NCS : https://www.youtube.com/user/NoCopyrightSounds SEE YOU NEXT TIME IN VIDEO FURTHER, PEACE !!!

In a landscape governed by ceaseless babble, flashing lights, and hollow lies, Eagle harmonizes into the void so we don’t have to. On this descent into the digital trenches, Eagle teams up with British producer, Paul White for Hella Personal Film Festival. Released on Mello Music Group, the full collaboration finds White behind the SP-1200s, conjuring a psychedelic strain of soul-funk, booming drums, and 21st century crate-digging in tropical attics of the imagination. On the microphone, the Chicago-bred, LA-based, Eagle artfully breaks down the banalities and perils of the modern condition. Recorded in London, Eagle’s new album continues where his 2014 masterpiece, Dark Comedy left off. It’s anxiety-riddled but whimsical, addicted to and scornful of social media, stuffed with old wrestling in-jokes and film snippets. Self-aware admissions blend into attacks on societal double standards. Known for alchemical solo work and collaborations with Danny Brown, Homeboy Sandman, and Mos Def, this is White’s first proper union with Eagle. The two artists bonded over the notion of diversity. The process started out with rough demos, which White ended up finishing in post-production—playing guitar, drums, bass, keyboards, percussion and pieces of wood found in a forest. Its genius ultimately comes from the pair mining a deep vein of emotional content—a discussion of the things we feel that you don’t say. A movie that hits so accurately it’s almost uncomfortable. These are tense anthems for the vulnerable, consecrations to black people with rich internal lives, agnostic prayers for those grappling with pain. They’re emotional landmines leavened by the wry bleakness usually only found in great stand-up comedians. Eagle exists in the lineage of They Might Be Giants and Richard Pryor, Freestyle Fellowship and his longtime friend and collaborator, Hannibal Burress. Within the first act, the plot becomes clear. See “Admitting the Endorphin,” where Eagle raps, “I chase my poison tail and get so high that voices fail.” These are the movies he’d make it he knew how to make movies. Surreal vignettes about waking up with burrito hangovers in hotels you don’t recognize, wondering if you remembered to charge your phone. Aesop Rock and Hemlock Ernst (Sam Herring of Future Islands) pop up as fellow travelers. No one is better than Eagle at capturing the nauseous disorientation of day-to-day life. The deluge of sports highlights, unread texts and Twitter notifications. The compulsive need to check your phone at red lights and pauses in conversation. But his incisiveness extends far beyond observational humor. “Smiling (Quirky Race Doc)” examines the slights and casual bigotry of daily interaction. “A Short About a Guy That Dies Every Night” is a morbid rumination on death. These are the returns after long dark nights of the soul. When the noises are loud, the lights are off, and the armor is pierced. Short films that loop over and over again, as soon as you close your eyes. Gold in Nevada: New Strike at Last Hope Mine 1927 Kinograms Newsreel

03:45
more at http://quickfound.net/ "New gold strike in Nevada." Silent. Public domain film from the Prelinger Archive, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and mild video noise reduction applied. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_mining_in_Nevada Gold mining in Nevada, a state of the United States, is a major industry, and one of the largest sources of gold in the world. Nevada currently mines 79% of all the gold in the United States, which is equivalent to 5,640,000 troy ounces (175 t) in 2009. Total gold production from Nevada recorded from 1835 to 2008 totals 152,000,000 troy ounces (4,700 t), worth over US $228 billion at 2011 prices. Almost all the gold in Nevada comes from large open pit mining and cyanide heap leaching recovery... Unlike coal and oil extraction, where mining companies pay royalties for minerals obtained from public lands, gold mining companies do not pay any royalties for deposits claimed on federal public lands. This is because gold mines on public land operate under the General Mining Act of 1872. Although Nevada was known much more for silver in the 19th century, many of the early silver-mining districts also produced considerable quantities of gold. The Comstock Lode, for instance, produced 8,600,000 troy ounces (270 t) of gold through 1959, and the Eureka district produced 1,200,000 troy ounces (37 t). And the Robinson copper mine has produced well over 2,700,000 troy ounces (84 t) gold, along with over 4 billion pounds (1,500,000 tonnes) of copper... Carlin Trend Gold was discovered in the vicinity of Carlin in Eureka County in the 1870s, but production was small. Placer deposits were discovered in 1907, but the deposits were too small to cause much excitement. It was not until 1961 that the Newmont Mining Corporation found the large low-grade gold deposit at Carlin that the mining industry began to take notice. The Carlin mine began producing gold in 1965... It was not until the gold price shot up in the late 1970s that mining companies rushed to look for similar deposits. The Carlin Trend, part of what is also known as the Carlin Unconformity by geologists, is 5 miles (8 km) wide and 40 miles (60 km) long running northwest-southeast, has since produced more gold than any other mining district in the United States. The trend surpassed 50,000,000 troy ounces (1,600 t) of gold in 2002... Golden Fleece Mine (Nevada) The Golden Fleece Mine, Washoe County, Nevada, near Poeville site, was operated by the Golden Fleece Gold & Silver Mining Company, incorporated on February 2, 1875, which held one patented claim on the site. W. F. Stewart had published a geological report on the mine in 1879, which had an eight-foot vein of ore. The small mining site was located at latitude: 39.584753, longitude: -119.903055 and has received more interest from historical point of view, than for its yield of gold. Several other mines were operating in the Poeville Mining District during 1863 and mid 1880. Goldfield Goldfield was discovered in 1900, and began major gold production in 1902. The ore occurs in altered shear zones in Tertiary dacite and andesite. Total gold production through 1959 was 4,200,000 troy ounces (130 t). Robinson/Ely The Robinson district at Ely, Nevada produced about 3,000,000 troy ounces (93 t) of gold through 1990... http://nvghosttowns.topcities.com/pastpro/gilbert.htm The Hardscrabble district was first mined in the 1870s but it was short-lived and little was produced. During the 1880s, a small camp called Garfield, named after the recently assassinated President James Garfield, formed five miles south of the future location of Gilbert. The camp was located next to the Alto Divide mine at Cook Spring. A small mill operated there for many years. The first serious mining in the northern part of the district began in June 1896 when Herman Gilbert and Homer Thompson, searching for a rich lode Charles Lampson had found earlier but then lost the location of, located a new lode they named the Carrie mine. The partners moved a house from Candelaria to the mine. The mine proved most promising but in May 1900, the boom began at Tonopah and the two men headed there to seek their fortune leasing mines. Sadly, both died in 1905 before having the chance to return to work the Carrie mine. Gilbert's sons, Fred and Logan, returned in 1916 and leased the Carrie mine from the company formed to manage their father's and Thompson's estate. But in 1918, the brothers sold the mine and went to the booming Divide district, just south of Tonopah. Charles Lampson returned to the area in 1922 and after a couple of years, found an old marker he had placed on his discovery in the 1890s. He proclaimed the mine the Last Hope and showed the Gilbert brothers its location. The mine was officially located on September 10, 1924 but the public didn't find out about the new strike until October 30...

McConnel Mobile Sawbench

02:53
EDIT: This saw is not for sale! This is a McConnel 10 DCR Mobile sawbench, made by F.W. McConnel of Ludlow, UK. Popular in the post-war years with both country estates and also with mining companies for sawing pitwood, it is powered by a 10hp Petter AVA2 twin cylinder diesel engine and is suitable for both cross cutting and ripping. Blade diameter is 30" (760mm). Quicker and more efficient than using a chainsaw for firewood production, they regularly appear on Ebay as they no longer comply with woodworking machinery legislation primarily because of the excessive time they take to stop. The fuel tank is 1 1/2 gallons (just under 7 litres) and despite best efforts I have never had to top it up during any one day's work.

A Ghost Town with a Freemason Temple - Victor, CO

19:03
Victor is a ghost city in Teller County, Colorado, United States. Gold was discovered in Victor in the late 19th century, an omen of the future of the town. With Cripple Creek, the mining district became the second largest gold mining district in the country and realized approximately $10 billion of mined gold in 2010 dollars. It reached its peak around the turn of the century when there were about 18,000 residents in the town (The population was 397 at the 2010 census.). Depleted ore in mines, labor strife and the exodus of miners during World War I caused a steep decline in the city's economy, from which it has never recovered. There is a resumed mining effort on Battle Mountain. Gold Has Bottomed; Industry To See Turnaround – Agnico Eagle CEO

03:35
Despite the unusually strong dollar, Sean Boyd, CEO of Agnico Eagle sees gold having already reached a bottom and can expect the price to rally soon. “We think gold’s bottomed here, the U.S. dollar’s been unusually strong, things don’t stay the same forever, so I think it’s important for the industry to re-position itself through smart M&A,” Boyd told Kitco News on the sidelines of the Denver Gold Forum. On the recent merger between Randgold and Barrick Gold, Boyd said that this type of consolidation is what the industry needs to reduce overhead and also create more investor interest. _________________________________________________________________ Kitco News is the world’s #1 source of metals market information.
