Automated Data Warehouse Testing

01:51
www.arkenstone-ltd.com This book aims to assist QA (Quality Assurance) teams in performing data warehouse testing effectively using automation. The complexities and challenges of data warehouse development have evolved over the past few years and testing teams are now expected to verify each implementation by running tests multiple times to ensure the system hasn't regressed. Volumes of data are fed into the data warehouse through heterogeneous sources having data quality issues at source. Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes have grown too complex. Data warehouse testing is usually associated with a very high cost of quality and any defect slippage has a significant effect on downstream end-user systems. As a result, the ability to perform automated test becomes extremely useful as it provides testers and the organisation as a whole an added level of confidence.

https://accra.systems/Welcome/Partner/11321 https://www.blockchain.com/explorer About company ACCRA DIGITAL LIMITED, like other large corporations such as Datapipe, PefectMoney and Moonlite, decided to locate its data center in Iceland for several key reasons: - Very low cost of electricity. - Electricity is extracted from renewable sources - from geothermal sources and hydroelectric power plants, so our energy sources are very cheap and in this way we will preserve the ecology of our planet. - The loyal attitude of the state to cryptocurrencies. - Iceland has been actively developing in the IT industry for the last 3 years, many data centers have been built. In addition, Iceland is quite a cold country, so this is another plus for renting a data center here, since you do not need to have many air conditioners to cool the servers. Such data centers provide year-round high-performance cooling using FreeCooling technology. Accordingly, for us it is a minus another item of expenditure, and for you another item of income. A little about the history of the creation of ACCRA DIGITAL LIMITED. Our company was founded in 2012, in London. Since the establishment of our company, we have been developing and implementing software for business and manufacturing, have provided various consulting services in the field of information technology and computer programs. Over 6 years of our work, we have gained an impeccable business reputation in many areas of business. With the increasing popularity of cryptocurrency, we decided to start an intensive development in this direction. We have developed a unique web platform that allows you to combine and use completely different extraction algorithms. This means that you can extract completely different cryptocurrencies on a single platform, no matter what mining algorithm one or another cryptocurrency uses, our software will easily switch you at any time, for example, from Bitcoin mining to Ethereum mining, although they use different algorithms, SHA -256 and Ethash respectively.

Avanite WebData Control: How to Manage Web Data in Virtual Environments - Podcast Episode 309

44:28
Source: https://www.spreaker.com/user/dabcc/avanite-webdata-control-how-to-manage-we In episode 309, Douglas Brown interviews Francesco Giarletta, Founder and Director at Avanite Limited. Francesco and Douglas discuss the Avanite WebData Control solution for controlling web cookies, privacy, security and more. Francesco explains why they built it, how it works, why we should care, and much more! This is one of those products that are a no-brainer for all environments and in the end you will save data, be more secure, control privacy and speed up login times! Download the MP3 here: https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/15209876/download.mp3 About WebData Control Use of the internet is growing every day with the adoption of cloud technologies and the move for many applications to become web based. Also the adoption of multiple devices on the home such as tablets and smart phones means the web browser is the most used application of many people. All this web access brings with it many problems facing business today. A great deal of data is generated from simply browsing a website, from data such as cookies which are downloaded to the computer, to the data generated by web browsers themselves. This data can be responsible for 85% of the size of a user profile and has shown to be the biggest contributor to extended login times. WebData Control has been developed with the enterprise in mind and is the only product available today to truly manage the problem of web data. Although much of this data is beneficial to both the user and the business, the majority of it is for the purpose of third parties who are collecting behavioural data for such purposes as targeted advertising, posing a threat to personal privacy and business security. Configured via Group Policy WebData Control allows the administrator to define what data is to be kept and what is to be removed. Users of WebData Control have reduced their profile storage requirements by 85% and have realised a reduction of login times but up to 90%. Semantic fingerprinting: Democratising natural language processing

58:59
Speaker: Francisco De Sousa Webber, Co-founder and inventor at cortical.io Cortical.io’s Semantic Fingerprinting technology originates in a new, fundamentally different machine learning approach: it is based on a statistics-free processing model that uses similarity as a foundation for intelligence. The Cortical.io Retina converts any kind of text into a numeric representation, a Semantic Fingerprint that encodes meaning explicitly with all contained senses and contexts. The system "understands" the relatedness of two items by simply measuring their overlap. As a result, it is very fast, reliable and easy to implement - a breakthrough technology that leverages the intelligence of the brain to enable the Natural Language Processing of Big Text Data. Francisco took an interest in information technology as a medical student specializing in genetics and serology at the University of Vienna. He participated in various research projects at the Vienna Serological Institute and was heavily involved in medical data processing. He took part in such projects as establishing and organizing Austria's dialysis register database and creating a patient documentation system for the university clinic. In the mid-1990s, he worked with Konrad Becker to found Vienna's Institute for New Culture Technologies and Public Netbase - at that time Austria's only free public-access internet server - thus establishing an international competency platform for the critical use of information and communication technologies. In 2005, Francisco founded Matrixware Information Services, a company that developed the first standardised database of patents under the name of Alexandria, where he acted as a CEO. He also initiated the foundation of the Information Retrieval Facility in 2006, a not-for-profit research institute, with the goal to reduce the gap between science and industry. Recorded at the Big Techday 8 / http://www.bigtechday.com of TNG Technology Consulting / http://www.tngtech.com on June 12th, 2015 in Munich / Germany
The MobiGuide Project: Guiding Patients in a Personalized Way - Mor Peleg Technion lecture

14:08
The MobiGuide Project: Guiding Patients Any Time, Everywhere in a Personalized Way Presentation by Prof. Mor Peleg, Haifa University During the past 15 years, clinical decision-support systems (DSS) that are based on evidence-based clinical guidelines have been used to deliver patient-specific recommendations to care providers during patient encounters. In the European project "MobiGuide: Guiding Patients Any Time Everywhere" (http://www.mobiguide-project.eu/) we are addressing several novelties: (a) delivery of decision-support to patients (via Smartphones) and not only to care providers, (b) personalization of guidelines to the patients' preferences and their personal context as well as the technological state of the MobiGuide system, (c) distribution of decision-support between a backend DSS Server and a mobile DSS operating on a Smartphone, (d) semantically-integrated Personal Health Record (PHR) that integrates data from hospital EMRs, wearable monitoring devices, DSS events, and temporal data abstractions, and (e) intelligent data and process mining algorithms that learn from past care process execution and suggests ways in which clinical guidelines could be improved.

O'Reilly Webcast: Probabilistic Data Structures and Breaking Down Big Sequence Data

01:05:17
Presented by Dr. C. Titus Brown. Many data analysis problems are not easily parallelizable, often because the relevant analyses require an all-by-all analysis step. Applying heuristics often requires approximation, which introduces errors, noise, and bias. Recently, in confronting the sequence assembly problem, Dr. C. Titus Brown's lab has applied probabilistic data structures as a lightweight and scalable approach to taking large assembly graphs and partitioning them so that they can be treated independently.

Predictive Modeling in Fundraising: Applications & Approaches

49:31
The tools needed to build predictive models describing donor behavior are getting easier to use all the time. But getting fundraisers excited about the potential impact these models can have on the fundraising program may take some doing. In this presentation he'll share some examples of ways to demonstrate the usefulness of models that answer the fundraisers most basic questions: who will give and how much will they give. John Paiva Account Executive, Rapid Insight John enjoys working with teams to build processes and systems that avoid problems. While there is a lot of focus on problem solving, how much better is it to avoid the problem to begin with? Over the past 25 years, he has worked as a manger in the Hospitality, Healthcare, Auto, and Big Box Retail industries. His success managing the large amount of data needed for success in each of these areas led him to his current work with Rapid Insight. John and Rapid Insight know that a company or institution will live and die by how well it makes use of the large amount of data available. Nonprofits and Higher Education are a focus of his work, and he believes we have a great opportunity to become more efficient with the data available to us. Working with customers nationwide, he assists with providing improved ways for delivering a better education for students, increasing funds received from donors, and increasing overall effectiveness. John currently lives in New Hampshire with his wife and daughter, working and playing in the White Mountains, and all they have to offer. With his daughter entering college in the Fall of 2014, his work has become even more important to him, as he has experienced first-hand the results of well executed systems, and those that are complete failures. Mike Pasqua Senior Director of Advancement Services, Mills College Mike is an innovative problem solver with an extensive customer support background. He is an expert in designing and implementing Web-based workflow and reporting tools, communicating business requirements to IT organizations, and managing international support operations. Mike is currently the Senior Director of Advancement Services at Mills College in Oakland, California. He served as the Director of Advancement Services for 6 years at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania and before that, he was the Director of Advancement Services at Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. Mike has worked on a wide range of initiatives, including: * A 90% reduction in the number of ad-hoc data requests to IT. * Redesign of Annual Fund segmentation strategy based on donor behavior vs. donor demographic attributes. * Introduced predictive modeling within prospect research and integrated modeling techniques into the solicitation process.

Title :- Accra systems | Free cloud mining 2019 | Earn upto 50$ daily | No investment | Free 10GHS | Earn Bitcoin Link of website :-https://accra.host/Welcome/Partner/59799 ABOUT WEBSITE :- ACCRA DIGITAL LIMITED, like other large corporations such as Datapipe, PefectMoney and Moonlite, decided to locate its data center in Iceland for several key reasons:- Very low cost of electricity.- Electricity is extracted from renewable sources - from geothermal sources and hydroelectric power plants, so our energy sources are very cheap and in this way we will preserve the ecology of our planet.- The loyal attitude of the state to cryptocurrencies.- Iceland has been actively developing in the IT industry for the last 3 years, many data centers have been built. Designing A Spam Classifier Using Machine Learning | Simplilearn Webinar

01:02:02
Learn how to design a spam classifier using machine learning APIs with this webinar. Webinar Agenda: This webinar covers the following topics - 1. Classifiers and Supervised Learning A classifier classifies a dataset. It then uses the label on that data. This is known as supervised learning in the world of machine learning. 2. Naïve Bayes Classifier Simple but powerful, the Naïve Bayes classifier is a popular choice for classifying text. Based on Bayes’ theorem, there’s an interesting reason it’s called Naïve - this classifier is based on a rather strong assumption, called a naive assumption — every word is independent from the other, and the order of words is not an important consideration. This assumption is wrong, especially if we classify text. 3. Naïve Bayes Language Classifier While using training sample phrases to classify unknown phrases in a language we already know the language is easy, Naïve Bayes language classifier infers & classifies languages from word occurrence frequency. 4. Ready-to-Use Naïve Bayes Language Classifier Code A well-designed, ready-to-use Naïve Bayes code for spam filtering is presented and demonstrated with a few hands-on examples in this webinar. The Future of Computational Journalism

01:27:05
Data science and algorithms are reshaping how the news is discovered and reported At a recent event bringing together voices from the School of Engineering and the School of Humanities and Sciences, two Stanford professors engaged in a moderated discussion about the evolving field of computational journalism. Jay Hamilton, the Hearst Professor of Communication and director of the Journalism Program, and Maneesh Agrawala, professor of computer science and director of the Brown Institute for Media Innovation, shared their complementary perspectives on the many questions facing journalism today and where they might lead tomorrow. The conversation centered on how converging social currents and disruptive technologies have roiled newsrooms on the local, national and international levels. Computational journalism, Hamilton said, can refer to the set of tools that journalists use to discover, tell or distribute stories. But it’s also “reporting by, through and about algorithms.” The Associated Press, for example, writes about 4,000 stories by algorithm each time companies’ quarterly earnings reports come out — a massive increase from the 300 or so companies that can be covered by human reporters. In addition to such computer-assisted reporting, Agrawala spoke about how computers can be used to synthesize audio and video stories and create visualizations that provide critical context for data. The two professors also spoke about the great need for journalists to find ways to hold algorithms — like the ones that curate our newsfeeds or influence public policies — accountable. “One of the questions that we face as a society is understanding some of the algorithms that are delivering information to us,” Agrawala said. Hamilton agreed, adding that the biggest problem he sees facing journalism right now are the stories that get missed due to the collapse of the business models of local newspapers. “If you look across the country, there are city councils that don’t have a reporter covering them, there are school boards voting and making decisions and nobody is watching. So I think that’s something where computational journalism can really make an impact,” he said. “If you have a strong interest in engineering and data, try to help us figure out the stories that go untold, especially at the local level.”

Proof-of-Work (PoW) vs. Proof-of-Stake (PoS)

09:43
Proof of work vs proof of stake explained! Here's a simplified explanation on how a PoW blockchain differs from PoS, and how it applies to Bitcoin. 4. The Byzantine Generals’ Problem Before I begin discussing proof-of-work, it’s important for you to be aware of the Byzantine Generals’ Problem, also known as the Byzantine Fault Tolerance. 3. Proof-of-work Proof-of-work is a computational protocol miners use to validate transactions in a cryptocurrency network & add the transaction to the blockchain. Put simply, miners use their computers to churn through a ton of different guesses until the computer comes up with the right answer that fits within the network’s required parameters. Different cryptocurrencies use different mathematical formulas (or functions), all of which are based on extremely complex cryptography. A hash is a certain piece of information, ranging from a letter or number to even an entire word or text file. A hash function is a cryptography-based math equation where you input a hash value into the equation then get an encrypted string of numbers & letters as a result (the hash). Let me help you visualize it to make it easier. We’ll represent our hash function as h(x) = y, where h is the mathematical equation (aka the “hash function”), x is a dynamically-changing hash value, and y is the encrypted output (or hash). In the case of Bitcoin, the hash function that’s used is known as SHA-256 (which is an acronym for Secure Hash Algorithm, which uses a 256-bit hash). The hash value that you input can be as many different numbers & letters as you’d like, but the output will always be a string of 64 letters or numbers. The reason why this is so secure is because SHA-256 is a one-way formula, meaning it’s impossible to reverse engineer your output to find out what the original hash value was. So proof-of-work is essentially just that: you have a given hash function you’re required to use along with a 64-digit answer; and as a miner, you set your computer to “work” by plugging in a bunch of different hash values in an attempt to guess the right answer. Once you do so, you’re able to validate a transaction, add it to a block, and get rewarded for your efforts in the form of Bitcoin, which are released as block rewards. Think of mining as simply a race to guess the right answer. The miner who gets the right answer first gets the reward. 2. Proof-of-Stake The proof-of-stake protocol differs from proof-of-work in the sense that mining power is determined by the number of coins you hold of that particular cryptocurrency; the more coins you hold, the more mining power you have. Mining power with proof-of-work, on the other hand, is determined by how powerful your computer is & how much available electricity you have at your disposal that you can direct towards mining. In proof-of stake, holding ownership of the coins demonstrates your “stake” in the network. Methods have been implemented to grant smaller miners a chance to mint the next block, such as randomized block selection & coin age based selection. There’s also the option of running a masternode, which I discussed in my previous video on hard forks. One of the advantages of the proof-of-stake protocol is that it solves the Tragedy of Commons issue, which states that eventually, at some point in time, once all 21,000,000 Bitcoin have been rewarded & are in circulation, Bitcoin miners will be less motivated to mine in the Bitcoin network since there will no longer be any block rewards at that point, and the only way they’ll only be able to earn Bitcoin is from transaction fees. Less miners means more opportunity for an attack on the network, since it’ll be easier to control 51% of the network’s computational power. Proof-of-stake solves that by putting your own coins & investment at stake. 1. Which is better? Both protocols have their own advantages & disadvantages. Proof-of-work allows for not just miners, but also developers & the coin’s community members to vote on potential changes to be implemented into the network. But on the flipside, proof-of-work requires exorbitant amounts of electricity to run mining rigs. As of 2017, the Bitcoin mining network used more electricity in a year than all of Ireland as a whole. Each Bitcoin transaction uses an average of 300 kilowatt hours of electricity, which is enough to bring 36,000 kettles full of water to a boil. Proof-of-stake, on the other hand, is said to be more energy-efficient than proof-of-work, while at the same time more secure. But its biggest disadvantage is that the miners (or stakeholders) are the ones who hold all the power. Unlike in proof-of-work, miners able to theoretically implement whatever changes they so choose without having to get approval from developers or community members. This contradicts the coin’s supposed “decentralized nature” by potentially putting all the voting power & control in the hands of a centralized few.
"Innovative Applications and Technology Pivots - A Perfect Storm in Computing" Wen-mei W. Hwu

01:05:03
UCI CS Distinguished Lecture Series Talk Wen-mei W. Hwu AMD Jerry Sanders Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign "Innovative Applications and Technology Pivots - A Perfect Storm in Computing" February 10, 2017 Abstract: Since early 2000, we have been experiencing two very important developments in computing. One is that a tremendous amount of resources have been invested into innovative applications such as first-principle based models, deep learning and cognitive computing. Many application domains are questioning the conventional “it is too expensive” thinking that led to inaccuracies and missed opportunities. The other part is that the industry has been taking a technological path where application performance and power efficiency vary by more than two orders of magnitude depending on their parallelism, heterogeneity, and locality. Today, most of the top supercomputers in the world are heterogeneous parallel computing systems. New standards such as the Heterogeneous Systems Architecture (HSA) are emerging to facilitate software development. Much has been and needs to be learned about algorithms, languages, compilers and hardware architecture in these movements. What are the applications that continue to drive the technology development? How hard is it to program these systems today? How will we be programming these systems in the future? How will innovations in memory and storage devices present further opportunities and challenges? What is the impact of long-term software engineering cost on applications? In this talk, I will present some research opportunities and challenges that are brought about by this perfect storm. Bio: Wen-mei W. Hwu is a Professor and holds the Sanders-AMD Endowed Chair in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests are in the area of architecture, implementation, compilation, and algorithms for parallel computing. He is the chief scientist of Parallel Computing Institute and director of the IMPACT research group (www.impact.crhc.illinois.edu). He is a co-founder and CTO of MulticoreWare. For his contributions in research and teaching, he received the ACM SigArch Maurice Wilkes Award, the ACM Grace Murray Hopper Award, the Tau Beta Pi Daniel C. Drucker Eminent Faculty Award, the ISCA Influential Paper Award, the MICRO Test-of-Time Paper Award, the IEEE Computer Society B. R. Rau Award and the Distinguished Alumni Award in Computer Science of the University of California, Berkeley. He is a fellow of IEEE and ACM. He directs the IBM-UIUC Center for Cognitive Computing Systems Research, UIUC CUDA Center of Excellence and serves as one of the principal investigators of the NSF Blue Waters Petascale computer project. Dr. Hwu received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Bitcoin Q&A: Enterprise "blockchain" gentrification?

16:15
Will mainstream adoption affect the culture of crypto? Are enterprise "blockchain" projects signs of gentrification? Banks will train the developers for us. They can't ignore Bitcoin forever. Why is there so much development and marketing around private blockchains? Not all blockchains are created equal. Immutability is not a characteristic of all blockchains. Backup and Disaster Recovery System Saves G.R. Daniels Trucking Data

04:24
GR Daniels trucking and GR Daniels warehouse based in Hutchinson, Minnesota was founded in 1977. The trucking company provides integrated services to the transportation industry and warehousing for local customers in the upper Midwest. On Sunday, December 8th of 2013, a fire engulfed GR Daniels truck shop and office into flames. Owners Sharon and Gary Daniels rushed out of their home after receiving a phone call at 12:40 in the morning from their security system saying there was a fire at their shop. We drove up to our truck yard and saw that our truck shop was totally engulfed in flames. It was devastating and there wasn’t a thing we could do but watch, watch it burn. The firefighters asked Daniels if there's anything that you could save, what would it be. What's the first thing you'd want out of that office, what's the most important? And I started thinking about the tracking and about the warehouse and our customers and then I said go back and get their computers. And then I started thinking about computers and the whole system and then I said maybe go back if you can and pull the server is out. Are two servers and their backup a box that we had Axient system. And they went in and pulled them out. At 8 a.m. on Sunday morning Daniels called her Marco technology adviser, Steve Hary and Jeff Kremer, Marco service representative, to let them know about the disaster. Both responded back to her within an hour and said they would be out that same day. Jeff Kremer came out like one o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday and had all kinds of computers with him and keyboards and hardware, backup systems and he took the Axient box that was dripping with water and made it work and connected all the computers. And by 8:30 that night he had four computers up and running ready for us, and had downloaded all our data onto the computers. Now our data was saved through the Axient backup system with Marco that we have. At 8:30 on Monday morning it was business as usual for their customers. Jeff Kramer help GR Daniels get their temporary office set up in the warehouse. Without the information from GR Daniels Axient backup system, Daniels does not believe that the business would have been up and running on Monday morning. And our customers we could not have communicated with them, our drivers we could not have communicated say which loads are their's. I mean everything is done on the web nowadays. In my opinion Marco has the highest quality, the highest knowledgeable experience, their efficient, their friendly, they take care of us. And to me someone that's going to take care me, that’s a comfort. Marco help them implement the Axient backup and disaster recovery solution. The system backs up all of their data and applications every night on-site and offsite. And Daniels receives an email confirming the backup was successful. Marco representatives also remotely monitor their backup 24/7 to ensure that there are no glitches in the system. I think it's huge to have a backup system off site. I think that the Axient backup system with Marco has been phenomenal, it has been great. I wouldn't have it any other way. I think any company that does not have a backup system is probably looking for it happening down the road whether it be a fire disaster, I hope not, or lightning taking on the computer out, or just the computers crashing, for any reason you need a backup system off-site that you’ll be able to download the data.

Music Information Retrieval Using Locality Sensitive Hashing

57:42
SF Data Science Meetup presents "Music Information Retrieval Using Locality Sensitive Hashing" by Steve Tjoa. Music information retrieval (MIR) is an interdisciplinary field bridging the domains of statistics, signal processing, machine learning, musicology, biology, and more. MIR algorithms allow a computer to make sense of audio data in order to bridge the semantic gap between high-level musical information — e.g. tempo, key, pitch, instrumentation, chord progression, genre, song structure — and low-level audio data. In this talk, we will survey common research problems in MIR, including music fingerprinting, transcription, classification, and recommendation, and recently proposed solutions in the research literature. The talk will contain both a high-level overview as well as concrete examples of implementing MIR algorithms in Python using the IPython notebook. We will discuss concrete elements of prototyping an MIR system including data visualization, open-source tools, and evaluation. About Steve Tjoa Steve Tjoa (http://stevetjoa.com) is a researcher and engineer in the areas of signal processing and machine learning for music information retrieval (MIR). He currently works on the MIR team at Humtap in San Francisco. Before that, he worked on content-based audio recognition and recommendation as an NSF-sponsored postdoctoral fellow at iZotope and Imagine Research (acquired by iZotope). He has also worked as a consultant in the areas of audio/image signal processing, machine learning, and information retrieval. Since 2011, he has co-instructed the annual summer workshop on MIR at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University. Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA)

01:06
The single antenna can receive any one information or transmit any one information, but at a time multiple data can’t be receive and transmit. by using CSMA/CA we cab eliminate this type of problems. The channel access control mechanisms provided by the MAC layer are also known as a multiple access protocol. This makes it possible for several stations connected to the same physical medium to share it. Examples of shared physical media are bus networks, ring networks, hub networks, wireless networks and half-duplex point-to-point links. To access the channel system makes the RTS and CTS sharing. Distributed coordination function (DCF) is the fundamental MAC technique of the IEEE 802.11 based WLAN standard. DCF employs a CSMA/CA with binary exponential back-off algorithm. When a station sends an RTS frame, it includes the duration of time that it needs to occupy the channel. The stations that are affected by this transmission create a timer called a network allocation vector (NAV) that shows how much time must pass before these stations are allowed to check the channel for idleness. Each time a station accesses the system and sends an RTS frame, other stations start their NAV. In other words, each station, before sensing the physical medium to see if it is idle, first checks its NAV to see if it has expired.
