I am using this tutorial a second time and found you need to have the material density set to .3 (default is set .1) in order to have significant symetrical pletes. You also must use the cloth > group to create a group being the clicked on red dots surrounding the waist of the skirt then click sim node then the body and the skirt will now attach to the body.

This video even years later still does not attach to the waist by add object >body>collision. Still slides right down past the feet. The suggestion of creating a group is not easy as there are hundreds of red dots in the skirt waist circle and I see no way to grab just one line to create the waist group so it can by way of node be attached to the body. Did teach me to read the comments first before I spend a day trying to make something that the tutorial video simply does not create.

When I simulate the cloth i only get 5 folds. How can I get mind to do more?

I think you went a bit overboard with the spherify on the upper torso..

Mine doesn't catch on the waist, it just fall all the way down the legs, going through the figure and then continues down into nothingness.. :/ I even tried to make it over the shoulders, around the neck as a cloak, but it did the same thing... :/

I found a solution! in the grouping window, select the outline of the waist and group it together, assigning it the "preserve" command. that way when your cloth is simulated the skirt will still be attached to the model at the waistline

+Samantha Mercieca Nothing I've tried works ... yet. Creating the garment in the recommended pane, have the collision setting correct from what I've read, etc. Still slips off.   I haven't worked much with skirts or pants for a while.  Have you had any luck? If I find what my glitch is though, I'll let you know. It's probably something glaringly obvious.

+Mc Kamie Hi I have the same problem have you solved it ??

+Steven N Yes, and still missing something.  :(    I'll figure it out, I'm working my way up to the garment/cloth.  :)

You guys probably figure it out by now but in case anyone is wondering, you have to set the body as a collision object and in the same panel of menu as your cloth object.

Hey thank you for showing us how to creating simple objects for clothes, I must say in the beginning I laughed at how she was wearing a pringle :') Second, could you please show us how to create a trench coat-like object? Cheers- Mr ShiniDeity Deity
